This was my first visit to this dental office, I was surprised as the experience and treatment was an order above other places I have been. The office was very clean and comfortable; the staff friendly, polite, and extremely competent in their fields. One of the assistants took x-rays, and then photographs of my teeth; the images were shared with me, and findings discussed in detail. I had never really seen the condition of my teeth before in this sort of detail. Dr. Ionescu followed with an in-person examination, and we made plans to address several cavities and some deteriorating and/or faulty fillings received in past years. Also I had a very thorough and also painless teeth cleaning (I had not seen dentist for over three years). On my second visit, three adjoining molars got a complete make-over. Decay had gotten under the existing fillings, so all three were cleaned out and re-filled. The new fillings are much smoother than the old ones, and flush with the surface of my teeth. Also I can now floss better between those teeth. I was comfortable during the treatment and had no problems the next day, despite the extensive repairs. I have a couple more visits scheduled over the next several months to address other problem areas in my mouth. Would definitely recommend this dentist and staff to my friends and family.

Ive read the other reviews. You may think its odd that everyone is raving about how good Dr. Ionescu & his staff are. Id say it sounded fake if I hadnt been a patient myself for 4+ years & experienced the difference at this office. I had a prior dentist try to rush me to get implants starting the day I got my teeth cleaned. I ran out of that office & was lucky to find Dr. Ionescu. He said there was no rush & has helped me maintain the teeth the other dentist wanted to replace for over 4 years now. It is very clear that he wants to do what is best for the patients dental health, and not line his pockets with our cash. I trust him 100% with my "under privileged" teeth, as he called them. I came to him with damaged teeth and he has kept them healthy & in my mouth. He never talks down to me or tries to force me into any decision. He explains all my options & lets me decide on the course of action. If he does give advice, he makes it clear that it is the advice he would give one of his children or his spouse. And that advice has always been to take care of the teeth I have. Nothing looks as good as real teeth. So if you were wondering if he is too good to be true, wonder no more. He is the best dentist I have ever been to! I recommend him to everyone with no reservations.

I honestly couldnt ask for a better dental office/staff! Growing up we had the best dentist (well except for now).. Sadly but understandingly he retired and his practice was bought out by another family. Assuming (yes i know what happens when you assume) that they would offer the same type of care we stayed with them.. Big mistake! The last straw for me is when they were angered that they couldnt do x-rays because i was pregnant... Thats when i vowed to find another office. Thankfully a great friend recommended Dr. Ionescu, I was welcomed in by the most professional staff, Laney my hygienist was beyond awesome, and even confirmed my fears that the old family practice we were going to overlooked damage they caused and kept saying "everything looks great" when in one visit with Dr. Ionescu i could see it was not. I contacted my entire family who was still going to the old practice and let them know how great things were and what was found damaged by the old practice. Ive since so far had my father and my husband in the office and theyve had the same result as me. I can not express our gratitude for Dr. Ionescu and his staff. Without them, wed be in a great deal of issues.. We will NEVER be going to the old practice again.. Thank you!!

I was scheduled to get 3 cavities filled here today. After examining me the dentist refused to fill my cavities because I have TMJ. I have never ever heard of a dentist refusing care bc of TMJ. Ive had cavities filled before by other dentists with no issues. I jave had TMJ for 10+years and have never had any issues being refused care. Even on the website they claim to treat patients with TMJ. The dentist kept trying to referrer me to a TMJ specialist to fill my cavities bc he said he wasnt comfortable filling cavities for someone with TMJ. I told him my insurance does not cover specialists. I was only able to afford to pay to have my cavities filled. The very little time I have as a mom of 3 was wasted today. Who knows when Ill be able to get a babysitter again. Now my benefit for xrays and exam have been used and I still have untreated cavities. Now I have to find another dentist to fill my cavities and pay for an exam out of pocket on top of my coverage for fillings. This whole situation is absolutely ridiculous and not right. I do not recommend this place at all.

Dr. Ionescu is such a kind and caring man - always greets me with genuine enthusiasm and concern. I look forward to my dental visits because of him and his staff. He gives the best shots in town too! His manner and technique for giving numbing shots is so painless and does not cause any anxiety - I recently had a root canal and then oral surgery by two different people and only then did I realize and miss the way Dr. Ionescu administers his shots - big difference. His staff is so wonderful and they too are genuinely nice and fun - the atmosphere at his office is calm and relaxed - they greet you like an old friend and you feel totally comfortable and welcomed. The office is nice, clean, comfortable and they provide complimentary water bottles and have plenty of up-to-date magazines to read. . .although Im never in the waiting room long enough to sit back and read them all. If you dont want to feel you’re just a number, on an assembly line of patients who are rushed out then you need to see Dr. Ionescu - he will treat you with kindness, compassion and skill.

Every interaction has exceeded my expectations. I initially called Dentistry by Design in a panic, fearing my husbands wisdom tooth was impacted. Even though we were brand new to their practice, they saw him immediately, accurately diagnosed the problem, and relieved his pain. We have both since been back for effortless and thorough cleanings and routine work- all of which theyve explained in detail, with photos, with why it is necessary, how much it will cost (after insurance), how long it will take, and how it will feel. The staff is warm, friendly, and professional from reception and billing through the technicians and Dr. Ionescu- who greets everyone with a genuine smile before working efficiently and patiently with great care for our comfort. I cant recommend Dentistry by Design high enough and count myself lucky to have found them.
