STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Where to begin? The front desk attendant felt comfortable to to say prayers allowed with patients after telling them that their relatives had just gotten out of surgery and even went so far as to tell them that they had nothing to to worry about it now, "Gods got it!" Incase Im not being clear. /this woman promised an outcome, to a family that just hear their loved ones was just out of surgery. Before theyd spoken to the doctor (He came out later and couldnt find the family and just started calling their name out for about a minute an a half) and were told anything except that he survived the surgery, not how it went. Imagine what thats like for them if they find out, sure he survived the surgery but it didnt go so well. Then for some reason, they kept assuming my wife was my mom while endlessly asking her about her injury which she has no interest in talking about with them anyway. Her injury wasnt life threatening but what is shed had some serious emotional issue associated with her injury. People do. I bought all this up with the administration and their response was, well those people are volunteers. Great. So because their volunteers its totally okay for them to be uniformly and repeatedly unprofessional. Maybe they should hire people and pay them money to do those jobs so you could send them to some type of professional standards training. They couldnt get a tech to do the EKG so they had a nurse do it and she couldnt get it to work. I was a skills instructor for second year med students and started out as the ....EKG (ECG actually) model. So I have some experience with the machine and where to place the leads. The ones she placed were all correct except for one and she didnt place the last two. That tends to make it impossible to get a usable reading. She didnt care though, she just hit print and asked my wife if shes ever had any heart problems. I guess that qualifies for an EKG at Lakewood Regional. Im still waiting to hear back from the patient advocate which they dont "really" have, the head administrator I guess. I hope the surgeons are better than the staff. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY CONSIDER ANOTHER OPTION. I wish my wife and I had. More people die because of hospital negligence that are killed in car crashes each year. Its also the filthiest hospital Ive been to in the state of California. There were so many dead bugs in the lights it was revolting. Dust and dirt everywhere. Poorly lit and totally depressing.

I am shocked at the treatment of my family by this hospital. My sister had cancer and was admitted due to she was having difficulty swallowing. I called to check on my sister, and then called again with my sisters nurse the next day after getting a call from her homes manager telling me my sister wants to come home when she is released, which I knew this after speaking with my sister while the hospice lady was at my sisters bedside, and after I just told "hospice lady" my sister is waiting for surgery like her surgeon recommend, so my sister will be going home, and this woman could care less about all that!? I guess thats when my sister was tricked into signing admittance for "their hospice" and would never return home again until I told my sister about what they had her sign, and she was unaware the hospital was planning on keeping her, and not allowing her to be discharged or go home, and she didnt know any of this when I asked her about signing "hospice papers" she understood right away what i was telling her, and prepared herself to leave while I waited on the phone for her car from home to arrive going home where she had good hospice care available to her, and stay in familiar surroundings and with her family & friends. Earlier I called her nurse & this nurse is so horrible "the treatment" of my sister and "nurse" didnt give a rats ass about my sisters health or wishes!!! She argued and talked over me about my sisters wishes and what my sister wants please let me speak she talked the time over me not listening at all! i was speaking! I finally yelled shut up! why are you speaking to me like that!? I had to threaten with a lawsuit if they didnt let her go! They were not going to let her go, so my sister just walked out! of there!! and go home so she could be with her loved ones and a hospice who did care.There is BIG money in hospice care and this is what was behind this treatment of my poor sister and its disgusting and should not of happened!

"poor, unprofessional, uncaring environment at front the door!" The reason for my post; has to do with the reception/security staff. The staff was rude to a degree which I can not begin to express. The employee "Sherry", the security guard with an attitude; Not only is this person intensive and rude with her tone but also with her rude facial expressions. Ask a question that she doesnt like and the eyes begin to roll, ask a question that she doesnt want to answer and the sarcastic condescending response gets replied. The first visit I was rude, but the second and the third ( being the last straw ). Not only does she cause me frustration with her answers and replies, but the combination of stress that "sherry" added to my wifes pregnancy! Its hard enough to deal with the fact that this can be my grandfathers last day on earth (while at the being a patient at the hospital), but to add to that stress with unfriendly and unprofessional staff like "sherry" it is undignified, unwelcoming, and morally disrespectful! When my wife and I asked "sherry" for her employee i.d. and name she ignored us and pretended that she didnt know what we were talking about. The second time we ask more firmly and she says "what is that?" refusing to inform us with her employee i.d., name, and keeping her supervisors name from us. Not only is it difficult to deal with my grandfather staying at the hospital but to have that rude, unprofessional service present at the front door makes this the most unplesant hospital visit in my life thus far. I hope that my message and posting helps people/visitors and potential clients understand what they will go through when visiting a department that doesnt enforce friendly customer service; when its clearly important to do so in this customer driven economy.

No tienen muy buen servicio porque tengo a un familiar aquí y tienen muy poca ética desde los enfermeros y doctores son muy pocos los q en realidad demuestran su ética y profesionalismo y algo q tengo por entendido q ellos tienen q amar este tipo de profesión porque son vidas las q dependen de ellos y nadie hace nada por nadie ya ha regresado tres veces aquí y entro por una cosa y se ido empeorando todo y ellos no le haya una solución para q sea la tercera vez q este aquí la verdad yo no recomendaría este hospital a nadie por lo mismo yo trabajo en restaurante y creo q yo tengo una responsabilidad al cuidar con el manipulamiento de los alimentos para q los clientes nos se enferme y sobretodo estén bien pienso q de la misma manera deberían de ser aquí todo el equipo de doctores y enfermeras lo siento mucho pero uno tiene q hablar las cosas como son
