Unprofessional and disrespectful was my experience. I was a prospective new client of Eureka Dental Group. I will be taking my business to another Dentist that values my time and business. I called to set an appointment on May 7th and the clerk made an appointment for May 12th. I gave my information on the phone except my insurance information as i did not have my insurance card on me at the time. The clerk agreed that i could bring it in for the appointment. THE CLERK SET THE APPOINTMENT. The next day the clerk called back on my cell phone, while i was at work, and left a message stating "they needed my insurance information" , that is all they said. I work long hours and can not answer or respond to phone calls, i can not even have my cell phone at work. The clerk called again the day before the appointment stating the same thing, "we need your insurance information." At no time did the clerk emphasize the importance of receiving the insurance information prior to the day of the appointment. I am a state employee, i have insurance. I brought my valid insurance information at the scheduled time of the appointment. I left work early for the appointment, and i do not get time off work much for personal affairs. When i arrived to the appointment they said my appointment was "cancelled." At no time prior to me coming in for the appointment did they inform me the appointment was cancelled or that it would be cancelled due to the insurance information not being completed. Upon arrival at Eureka Dental Group, two different staff members of Eureka Dental Group explained the situation to me and they did not apologize for any of it. They made me feel like i was at fault, which i admit it is part my fault for not returning the phone call. I understand people make mistakes, and i understand this is a busy place. You made me, the customer, feel like their time doesnt matter at all. Even if it is my fault, show some consideration and respect for choosing your business, and find a way to work it out. I work in a prison , and have the most stressful work environment you can imagine. Show people respect because you dont know what they are dealing with. The next prospective customer, who makes a so called "mistake" and you have to cancel their appointment, show them some respect and tell them ahead of time that it has been canceled and why. I will be taking my state benefits elsewhere, to a place that knows how to talk to people with respect.

I recently acted on a promotion for a check up & cleaning through Eureka Dental. I could not be happier! I was greeted at the door by two very professional and helpful ladies who directed me to a [really neat] computer station to enter my information. I didnt even have time to get an idea of how comfortable the lobby furniture was because they got me in right away! The Dental Hygienist (Mela) led me back to the chair while engaging in friendly small talk and giving me a quick tour of the office. Her demeanor was very warm and upbeat, relaxing, and comfortable. The extra two minutes she took to let me adjust to the idea of allowing another person to introduce power tools in or near my mouth was much better than being marched back to the chair, sat down, and told to "open wide". Her attention to detail was thorough and her technique of the hands-on part of the cleaning was impressive. Ive seen RDHs with varying degrees of experience not nearly as good and gentle. As long as she is in the dental industry, she will be the only dental hygienist our family will see. The dentist, Dr. Kaplan, examined my teeth with care and intense focus. He noticed almost all of my previous dental work via visual inspection. After examining the X-rays, he identified all of my previous dental work and pointed out a few potential problems. I was impressed because, although the technology EDG uses is very modern, it was obvious Dr. Kaplan is a great dentist even without all of the computer gadgets. The best way to describe it is "old school skills amplified by new innovative technology". I was given a concise break-down of the cost and importance of dental work I require. I pay cash for my dental work, so this information was very helpful being organized by level of priority according to my health, NOT their bank account. I have savings contingencies allotted for different things including dental work. When I explained that I needed a little time to save up for the work I need, they were not pushy nor have they blown up my email/phone trying to get me back in. Most other offices Ive visited have a very "clinical" vibe to them. Not at Eureka Dental! They provide complete dental care with comprehensive options. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Eureka Dental Group!

When I first started going to Eureka Dental in 2010, I LOVED it! There was a dentist there that I absolutely trusted and did excellent work. Unfortunately, either this dentist left the practice or became completely unavailable because Ive gone over a year since seeing him. Instead other dentists have been doing my work. They are competent and well meaning, however completely lack proper "bed-side manners" and attention to detail. Each time I go in, they are short and dont ever bother to read my chart. They rarely ever explain recommended procedures, and then its only after I insist on my questions being answered. The issues that I do bring up, I feel, are brushed off. I have had problems with my lower gums and cavities on the bases of my teeth, I have been given different explanations each visit (even by the same doctor). It was the hygienists that actually gave me a reliable answer. They are a little pricey. They also required me to pay everything upfront, before I even sat in the lobby. Normally not a problem, however sometimes this led me to being bulldozed by a $300+ bill because the treating dentist didnt bother to explain to me what was actually being done when I was given treatment options. The reason my review is not lower is because of the office staff, they are AMAZING. Very friendly, helpful, and always willing to work with you. They gave me quotes after noticing that I was being blind sided with charges. The only reason I havent gone to a new dentist (until now) is because of the hygienists. They are awesome, kind and very gentle. Overall, the dentists are very competent (even skilled), but since they have grown these little (but important) things that have gone by the wayside, making me take my teeth elsewhere.

I came here on a "groupon deal" which gave me 2 cleanings and two sets of exrays and % off procedures I purchase for a year. Without dental coverage of my own this helped me get my teeth cleaned and assessed. Its always "iffy" getting dental work on a coupon deal. Previously I had in years past gotten cleaning done with a coupon deal else ware and was very disappointed with the cleaning. However, here they seemed to treat me like any other client and I believe gave me proper cleanings which I appreciate. I came in knowing I would need services because I had a broken tooth. It took a while to figure out the billing because they could not offer me the % off offered with my groupon if I were to use the Care Credit I had to apply for there to get the services...because they have to pay a % to process the credit. I do wish I would have known that before hand or I wish they would state that in the groupon..or at least honored that deal since I had purchased it. That situation was a bit stressful but after the billing situation was over and agreed upon they were able to crown my tooth without a root canal! That made me very happy because it was a close call. The office staff is friendly.
