This isnt a review for Browns doctors or medical services, since we havent used them for that purpose. However, we boarded our pup there for a day and a half and were surprised at how disappointed we were in their boarding service. First, I will say this in their favor - they were able to fit us in last minute (and over a holiday), their boarding prices are very reasonable, and the check-in staff were professional. However, because the prices are so low, there arent any additional services you can add on (exercise time, treats, etc.) you really just get the bare bones. Also, one very frustrating issue was the communication regarding the clean-up bath. All kennels weve used in the past have offered a complimentary clean-up bath (usually just a rinse and dry) after using their kennel services, and we were lead to believe this one would be no different. However, when we called a few hours before picking up our dog, we were told they only offered this service if they could see the dog was clearly dirty. I was very disappointed in the lack of clear communication regarding this, as all dogs should have some kind of quick rinse after being in a kennel. Finally, we sent prepackaged bags of food for our dog (one for each meal that hed be there for) and two of them were not given to him. I dont know if he missed those meals or if they gave him something else, but either way, that was a clear sign of unprofessionalism and made me question the care of our dog while he was there. Weve had such great boarding experiences in the past that its possible our standards are too high, but we will definitely not be using their services again, particularly when there are so many other options in the area. We chose to use their services based on the other reviews on Google, but it appears there may be some differences between the quality of their doctors and their boarding.

I also have not taken my animals to this place for veterinary care, only boarding. The woman at the desk was friendly as well as the technicians. Thats all I have for the one star. If I could give negative stars for the boarding, I would. I left my cat & dog there for some time while waiting for our home on base to become available. I had asked to take my animals to the back so I could see where they would be staying/kept. They all looked at me like I was crazy and they made a small ordeal over me being cautious. My dog was kept in a room filled with other dogs in cages just like his. Not much room. It smelled of feces and urine. It was unbelievably loud, not because of the other dogs barking (thats expected), but because the workers had music BLARING in that room. It made my ears hurt it was so loud. They dont get any outside time, so theyre expected to use the bathroom on a cement floor. I feel they shouldnt have to pee/poo in the spot where they spend all day. They are put into a smaller cage to sleep at night. My dog was not happy. Next, the cat room. They each get their own very small cage. They get a rag to sleep on, a tupperware bin with a paper towel in the bottom for a litterbox, a hotdog carton for a food bowl, and a dish of water. My cat clung to me as if she knew how bad the condition was. I will NEVER leave my animals here again. Too expensive for getting basically no care. Just enough to keep them alive, not happy.

Im a Springs Native. Our family took our cats and dogs to a certain pet clinic for 20+ years. Two years back, I had a nightmare of a time getting consistant, reliable vets with my dog George.... may he R.I.P. George had a type of skin cancer, and wed only found out the solid diagnosis of George on the day we put him down after months of pain. Youd think after 2 animal ER, and 4 vet visits (approx $1200+) wed get an answer to WHAT & WHY George was so sick.... we were given a plethora of antibotics and pardon, (bullshit) information on my loved American Bulldog. Nope. I was angry and heartbroken. My husband saw my distress of missing George, and in due time bought me wonderful rescue Boxaine (Boxer/Great Dane mix). In a nutshell I wasnt going to take chances with my new pal, Petey. BVH was recommended to me by my friend whos family visited there for years for their pets. I love the staff. Very quick to be seen. Everyone was very kind to our pets, and our pets liked the vet(s) right back. Plus, very affordable. :-)

The whole experience went really well. The front-desk people actually knew what they were talking about and were very helpful. They werent just there to process payments - they knew something about animals. I saw Dr. Hoffman and she was wonderful with my new dog. She got down on the floor and was very gentle. She also answered all of my questions. I would certainly return. Update: I just went back and saw Dr. Johnson. Again, it was a great experience. Ive gone in multiple times just to ask a question, buy some food, or get a copy of paperwork and theyve always been helpful and punctual. I would recommend this vet x1000 :-) Update: Ive been to Brown Vet almost 10 times in the past year (for both my dog and cat and various foster animals) and every time has been great. They recently went through a renovation and the entire facility is now even nicer. I most recently saw Dr. McNabb and she was wonderful as well!

We have been taking our pets to Brown VH since 2001. They have seen Doctor Gross since that time and there is no better care that an animal can receive than what they get from Doctor Gross and the staff at Brown VH. Our one beagle needed eye surgery due to what we believed was tumors and we cant believe the care and love that she received from Doctor Gross. He treated her as one of his own kids and always talked to us about his concerns and what he felt was best for her. He has done a couple of surgeries on her and she has received the same care and love as she did during that first eye surgery. No one and nothing could every stop us from taking our pets to Doctor Gross and the staff at Brown VH. They are all the best!!!

A friend referred me to Dr. Gross at Brown Veterinary Hospital after my original vet closed her practice. First, the facility is conveniently located, bright and immaculate. The staff is pleasant and efficient. I was seen on time each time I have been there and was able to get appointments soon after the day I called. Dr. Brown has the type of calm, relaxed, friendly manner with my dog that you would expect from a vet. He gave me the information I needed and didnt speak to me in the patronizing way human doctors so often speak to their patients! Veterinary care is expensive. I didnt think the fees here were much different than what I paid my former vet. I will continue to take my dog to Dr. Gross.

Brown Veterinary Hospital has taken care of our dogs for the last 4 years, through happy times and very sad ones, as well, and the care has always been fantastic. We sadly lost 2 of our dogs to old age while at Fort Carson and Brown dealt with their deaths sensitively and made a terrible event a bit easier for us by being so understanding and caring. And theyve helped us integrate our 2 new rescues into the family with great veterinary care and advice about behavior issues. We just relocated to the east coast but if were ever lucky enough to find ourselves in Colorado Springs again, wed be honored to have any of the caregivers at Brown Veterinary Hospital handle our sweet doggies! Thanks, Brown!
