I am writing this review in hopes that it might change that way Holly Heights sells their one of a kind image. After working there for several months I witnessed many things first-hand. I had the opportunity to work with a few great people, but I also noticed the standard worker was nothing less than lazy, uneducated, and more worried about their pay check. In meetings upper management truly gave it there all in hopes that they would convince everyone that there would be change for the residents (meaning treatment). I soon realized that there was a tend that started from the top and worked its way down to the bottom, it was protect Holly Heights image at all times. On almost EVERY shift that I worked, I witnessed first hand, residents kept in dirty underwear, cause it was too hard to change/or it took too much time. I witnessed residents who had fallen, and proper documentation wasnt filled out because "it was a pain in the butt". I witnessed many different times where more that one resident was neglected because of personality differences. I would argue that 75% of all employees there smoke, and are more worried about their nicotine high than caring the residents. The smell of smoke can be quite intrusive, especially when someone doesnt smoke! When or if I have the opportunity to place my loved one in a long term facility, I will take great measures in finding the best one. Reviews can be honest or written with hatred. With that said I would like to make it clear that I left on my own terms, and I left on good terms with all the staff. I personally couldnt be apart of a team who wasnt willing to offer exceptional care. Holly Heights will never be a long term or short term recommendation for a loved one of mine! I hope that my review will help inform your decision. Thanks, LVR

At 3:45 in the morning, I, a young, cold and unsure young adult walked into your community practically begging for someone to just take a few moments of their time to jump my car. I had a nurse mom that I Nanny for that was relying on my help. I had the cables and everything. I just needed a few moments of someones time. To which I was presented your cold staff. A lady immediately said I already asked no one has cables, to which I answered I have cables. She then stated oh well I didnt bring my car did you, she asked the other woman. This was all within moments, with I doubt little time to ask others. Now, I myself work a Monday-Friday job at a retirement community. Not only do we pride ourselves in how we treat our residents but how we treat our staff and our community. Not only does the no security detail aspect and your doors not locked scare me for people who leave their beloved ones but the fact that your staff is so selfish, cold and unkind. Happy holidays to you and your staff. May you treat your staff and residents better than you treated me in a moment of need just weeks before Christmas. Trying to get to a side job to make money for Christmas and college. It would have taken 5 maybe 10 min of someones time to make a difference. But this concept was much too much for your staff. I will take this to my job today, thankful for the kind faces that will great me and the selfless hearts that fill our community. To the person that will help me jump my car in a couple hours, I will tell them my story of this morning and I will thank them with complete and utter gratuity. Wishing I had been presented with as much decency earlier this morning. Definitely lost a little faith in humanity and sit here a bit disheartened. Merry Christmas.

I took my mom out of this nursing home two and a half years ago. She had severe constipation and bloody stools from the food. The nurse told me it was normal because shes in a wheelchair and doesnt get enough exercise. But since shes been home with me, and on a regular diet, she has not had ANY bloody stools, occasional mild constipation, and I dont give her stool softners! Thats why Im writing this review so much later. I wanted to know it was their food that was causing her digestion problems. And now her skin even looks better. I literally thought my mom was dying with all the blood in her stool!! Also, the CNAs are very lazy about getting her to the bathroom. I cant tell you how many times in six months I would take my mom to the bathroom and she would be soaked down to her wheelchair!! And would have stool in her pull up!! That was my final straw!! Since shes been home with me for 2 and a half years, I can count on one hand how many times shes had stool in her pants!! If they really toilet them every two hours like they say, that shouldnt happen. I only positive thing I could say, is the building was always clean. If they took care of the patients the way they care for the facility, it really would be 5 star!!

As I sit in ICU with my father on Veterans Day, I want to say that Holly Heights cares more about money than about elderly veterans. We had 12 days to place my father in a nursing facility and we applied to Holly Heights. I told them of the time constraint and asked them to tell me if there was any reason I should be looking further. They said things looked great and there shouldnt be a problem. 8 days later they called to say they wouldnt take him. This was on Friday afternoon and he had to be moved somewhere by Tuesday morning. Their reason? His meds would cost them too much compared to the VA contract. I offered to pay the difference or to bring his meds in, but they wouldnt budge. We were left high and dry with only one business day left. My father was crippled in his military service and is treated like this! He was very depressed by this rejection. Now we are in ICU and he isnt expected to live. I hope that Holly Heights greed and lack of consideration catch up with them. Update: my father passed away during this hospitalization.

Holly Heights Nursing Center carefully reviews each potential resident to assure they are a good fit for our home. This review takes into consideration the ability to meet the clinical and & psycho-social needs of the potential resident, the capabilities & capacity of the staff and the fit of the potential resident with the current demographics of the current residents. We feel it is our obligation to provide care to those residents we currently serve & carefully screen all potential residents.

We recently volunteered for the resident BBQ. It was so well organized. We enjoyed seeing all the smiles from residents, families and staff. It was such a positive experience, from start to finish. It was reminiscent of our large family events. We were especially impressed how everyone was included, and how they catered to meet residents special needs. It was wonderful to see the level of care shared with everyone. We really enjoyed the day. Priscilla and Michelle
