DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. I typically dont write reviews, but this situation warranted a review. I have a 3 lb malti-poo who was stepped on and fractured his leg. I took him afterhours to the ER and saw Dr. Jimenez. Dr. Jimenez kept him overnight to do some X-rays. He told me he would consult orthopedic specialists and we would discuss the treatment options with me the next day. The next morning, I picked him up and we went over the options. He told me inserting a plate via surgery would be too complicated to do on a dog so small. So, he said the best option was to just immobilize it with a cast and let it heal on its own. He seemed to care and know what he was talking about, so I trusted him. I should of paid attention to some of the red flags. Every time I called the clinic with a question, the receptionist would answer and tell me that someone would get back to me, but no one ever did. I would have to just keep calling until I was lucky and got a hold of him. I brought him in one week after, and then every two weeks after that. Each time they did X-rays on his leg and the vet said the bone looked like it was healing well and that there was a "95% chance that it would heal properly." I took him to see Dr. Jimenez 4 separate times. I was moving from Miami, so when I took him for his last checkup/x-rays, thats when I realized something was wrong. He told me that the bone didnt look like it was healing well--it wasnt healing straight. He advised that maybe I should go get another opinion from another vet...which he knew I was going to do anyway, because he knew I was moving. When I asked for the records of all my visits and X-rays, he was missing the X-rays and information from an entire visit. I moved back to Orlando and took him to an orthopedic specialist. They were alarmed when they saw the condition of my dogs leg. They said the fracture was NO WHERE near healing. In fact, the fracture had rotated 90 degrees. Because of the non-healing fracture, there was not enough blood supply to maintain a healthy bone, so my dog was at risk of LOSING HIS LEG if they didnt act fast. The surgeon stabilized the fracture (which had rotated 90 degrees) via an internal fixation with a small plate and bone graft to improve the chances of healing. If it wasnt for the orthopedic vet, my dog probably wouldve lost his leg. The surgeon didnt understand how Dr. Jimenez could have advised me the way he did--the chances of healing were almost none, especially after the second and third X-rays showing nearly no signs of healing. Also, anytime an ER vet gets a complicated fracture like that, it needs to be referred to orthopedics. I shouldve maybe taken my dog to other clinics for second opinions, but I really thought my little one was in good hands with Dr. Jimenez. Its really disappointing that people who devote their life to taking care of our animals can be so careless :( Even though thousands of dollars were spent, I am just so relieved that my dogs little leg is healing properly now! Thank goodness I moved from Miami, because if I hadnt...who knows what wouldve happened!!! Long story short, I recommend you save yourself the trouble and take your pet elsewhere.

Warning, do not let Dr. Kelly Murray care for your pet if you bring them here. I brought my dog in for a dental and left with multiple retained fractured roots. I had to take my dog to another Vet that could take dental images and Histopathology report, and what a mess. It looked like Dr. Murray had just broken off the exposed part of the tooth that she was to extract, and left half the tooth and all fractured roots inside the mouth and gum. Not just with one tooth, but all 5 teeth she felt the need to be extracted. This resulted in so much pain for my dog. Her gums were so swollen from this abuse. Although, I had taken my dog to other Vets to clean up the mess that Dr. Murray inflicted on my dog, she was never the same dog that she was before I mistakenly took to Dr. Kelly Murray at Biscayne Vet Center at 5841 Biscayne Blvd. The biggest mistake of my life. I called at 3:pm to get an update and Dr. Murray said " she was just halfway through the dental and was going to put my dog on morphine and finish up in the morning. What ? Is there a problem, is anything wrong ? I kept asking, and she just said everything was fine, I just need to finish up in the morning. No, you dont do that. you do not start a dental so late in the day that you leave the dog on morphine for the night and finish up the next day. In a cage all night, and alone halfway through a dental, OMG, really ? Well this is what she said she was going to have to do. You bet I was there the next morning. With all this pain and suffering my dog and I went through, not even to mention the thousands of dollars it took to correct this, DR. Murray never responded to my many calls. All I can say is God help the pets that fall under the care of this Dr. Murray.

Dr. Jiminez and his staff were the most supportive, comforting and kind people when my twelve year old mastiff mix was on his way to doggy heaven. When I first met Dr. J I had just been swindled by a doggy dentist in Weston and was very skeptical about any vet. Dr. J spent over an hour on our initial visit not only examing my elderly dog, but talking to me and explaining what was going on with him. He didnt just check him out though, he played with him, pet him and kissed him and genuinely enjoyed it! I explained to Dr. J that I didnt want to make a huge investment as it wasnt likely my dog would be around much longer and he actually helped me to that end and minimized the cost. He cared for my dog as if it were his own and on the evening (after 8pm) my dog couldnt hang on any longer I called Dr. Js office and he flew over there to meet me. He stayed there with me for three hours while I made the most difficult decision of my life. He and his staff cried with me as we said goodbye to my dog. He and his staff were the most compassionate wonderful people I couldve asked for that day and I thank them all eternally. GO to this guy!

I brought my 15 year old cat here on a Sunday and I was extremely surprised at how thorough and sensitive the doctor was (not to mention I was able to find a vet on Sunday!). He took time to explain everything and was very pleasant to talk to. When I called at 7pm to hopefully see when they would be open the next day on a recording, I was happy to hear a voice on the other end of the phone who connected me directly with the doctor and got a full status update on my kitty. After being to a few vets in the area I am happy to have finally found one I like. Prices were better than what I was paying at other places, the facilities were high tech and clean, and I felt comfortable asking questions. And most importantly, they are open on the weekends!!
