When you have a terminal illness, there are days when dealing with insurance companies, inept medical staff or clueless billing departments feel worse than the disease itself. I have been to physical therapy clinics in Miami where everyone looks miserable, you never see the same therapist twice, and when you do, he spends most of your session texting and eating lunch. It was a relief to find Marcie Howkins. She is a gem among physical therapists. She is kind with a good sense of humor. Most importantly, she tailors each session to the specifics of my condition so that each appointment builds on the work done in the last session. She is very caring about my comfort during the sessions and never judges when Im unable or unwilling to do a specific exercise. And yes, I actually feel better. The clinic itself is filled with friendly staff who will help you find a parking spot if the lot is full, and aids who are competent and kind (one lovely aid spent his last birthday giving donations to charities - very sweet). The biggest difference is the sound of chatter and laughter. Yes, the patients seem to have a very good rapport with the therapists and staff. Given that these patients are all working very hard and clearly in a lot of physical pain, that makes all the difference.

At the time of my first visit at Miami Physical Therapy Associates, I was in a great deal of pain. My initial evaluation was comprehensive and thorough. My therapist was consistently attentive throughout the course of my treatment. It soon became obvious that there was an across-the-board commitment to exceptional care by ALL the staff. The state of the art facility and the positive and encouraging atmosphere was a contributing factor to my complete recovery. As a long time resident of Miami, I have used physical therapist services in the past. The contrast is stunning! At MPTA - Miami Physical Therapy Associates, it is crystal clear that the business model is "patient driven." It is all about delivering the finest level of care to the patient. - D. Campbell

I had a FANTASTIC experience here. I had spinal surgery (fusion of the lumbar spine) and my surgeon told me this was the only place to go for rehab. I did several months of sessions with Miriam, and it changed my life. When I came, I was still in pain and afraid to move. When I left, I was nearly pain free and running on a treadmill. My copay was the SAME as a hospital, but the quality of care and facilities are incomparable to anything else you will see in Miami (I have seen several of the alternatives). Personal attention, professional care, and real RESULTS.

This is my second round of PT. The first was a very mechanical ordeal. Diagnosis with set treatment. Needless to say it did not help my injury. For my second attempt at recovery I decided to try Miami Physical Therapy and have found an amazing therapist, Carla, who is intuitive, willing to take her time in feeling out the injury and prescribing treatment as needed, not by a rote pre-determined treatment plan. I am very happy with their services and am improving. I highly recommend this facility.

I completed 5 weeks of PT and Im a very happy and grateful customer. Carla Ruhl is the tops in her field. This is my 5th or 6th time in PT for rehabilitating broken bones and MPTA is the tops, I highly recommend their staff. One big plus is if you arrive earlier than your appointment time slot they will take you immediately, what a change from the usual "Miami-time" routine. Thank you!
