My 30 some-odd days at River Oaks were both difficult and wonderful. The staff and clients, each and everyone almost without exception, are willing and delighted to participate in the program, and be helpful to one another in this lovely setting. When I first arrived at River Oaks almost by a fluke, I found it difficult to comprehend that I was an alcoholic and that I needed help. But it didnt take me long to realize that I was, and that this beautiful rehab facility could help me. With everything from gender separated group sessions to individual sessions, pretty good meals, a regular schedule and some much needed exercise, and people to clean rooms every day, and even equine therapy with rescued horses, I was entranced and learned as much with each passing day as I possibly could. Ive come out on the other side full of gratitude for the River Oaks program. While I hope never to return as a client, I would be delighted in time, to return as an alumnus. So far, the follow up steps that my case worker and counselor and I developed together, are working well. The only reason Im giving River Oaks four stars instead of five is because they are shortstaffed as are most businesses today. At times this led to difficulties when seeking specific help that resembled a wild goose chase. But from that I learned patience and the ability to relax, rather than stress. From fellow clients, I learned that this facility in comparison with so many others, is much preferred. Happy trails in your recovery!

The level of care I recieved at River Oaks was great. This was my first and only facility but once I was out I learned how good we had it. The Therapists seemed to honestly care and helped me with some unique circumstances. 1 year ago I hopped on a plane to tampa and changed my life. I entered River Oaks a empty shell, broken, miserable and scared. I have learned so much about happiness, love, family, and myself. Today I appreciate life. I embrace my feelings instead of running from them. I have relationships built on trust, loyalty and respect. My life is completely different then a year ago. For that I am grateful. I dont know if Ive hit "life beyond my wildest dreams" part yet but i wouldnt change this for the world

Beautiful Facility. I had an excellent therapist. I enjoyed being in Florida. I utilized the amenities (gym, the track to run around, the basketball courts, tennis courts.) Nursing staff was very helpful. I liked the food. I liked the groups. I learned a lot about avoiding relapse (which is why I was there in the first place after sometime in Recovery Prior) . I made a lot of long lasting friendships while I was there. I have been clean and sober for over a year since being there last year.

This is a top notch treatment center. My wife attended the residential program for 9 days and was able to gain a great foundation for her road to sobriety. However, the call center (American Addiction Centers) provided a number of untruths regarding cost and insurance coverage forcing my wife to leave an awesome and very helpful program. Facility is great, but call your insurance yourself after speaking with the call center representative to ensure youre receiving correct information.

The over all experience was great and helped me get clean, from a monstrous heroin habbit. Other than that there were alot of unorganized staff, BHTs rules differed from day shift to night shift. No one could give you an actual price of what the stays were from detox to IOP. Still got no response on the prices by the time I left in 30 days.
