I found Total Health Care through a desperate internet search for a practice that could see me after an unexplained back injury left me unable move for almost 24 hours. I am only twenty-six, but this wasn’t the first time I had a sudden onset of seemingly unexplainable back pain. About 18 months before, I suffered from chronic back and leg pain that lead me to a sports medicine doctor who took x-rays and immediately send me off to physical therapy with a prescription for Naproxen. I then spent almost six months in physical therapy before finding sustained pain relief. I had some painful flare-ups here and there in the months that followed, but nothing so serious that it sent me back to the doctor or PT. Then my husband and I moved to Atlanta where I was just getting settled and had no relationships with local physicians. As luck would have it, this time the pain – brought on by simply lifting the corner of my mattress to tuck in the fitted sheet – was so severe that I could hardly crawl to and from the bathroom. I was scared and in pain. Other than the unexplained back injuries, I am very healthy. I do my best to eat well, exercise, manage stress, and avoid the pitfalls of what is (for the most part) a sedentary full-time job. Things just weren’t adding up. After searching through dozens of listings for local orthopedic surgeons, physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) doctors, and sports medicine professionals, I found one of the DOs at Total Health Care listed as an in-network physician with my insurance. Upon learning more about the practice, the team, and their approach from their website, I picked up the phone to try to make an appointment. While I am not necessarily distrustful of doctors, my feeling about the state of our healthcare system and medical paradigm is that it is severely flawed. I didn’t want another drug or pain pill. I didn’t want to be simply sent back to physical therapy only to risk another injury somewhere down the line. I wanted to find out what was causing the pain and work with healthcare professionals who share my values and beliefs about what it means to be healthy. I was scheduled for an initial appointment for the very next day, and from that point on, I have only continued to be appreciative that I found this practice. From the front desk to the exam rooms, I feel taken care of at every visit. I have confidence in my treatment plan, which is a real plan, not just a band-aid or referral. I don’t have just one doctor, I have a team of people who cover a range of nonsurgical specialties and who work together and share in my progress. The progress I’ve seen in the last few weeks has been truly remarkable. I only wish that there were more medical practices that successfully take a holistic, integrated approach to health and wellness as Total Health Care does. Thanks, team!

I was facing a knee replacement. My low back made sleeping and moving around during the day painful. I had received Total HealthCare Flyers in the mail previously and I had read them. Then, I was reading and had an idea. Why not? I didnt want surgery. I wanted to move about freely, so why not call the clinic and give it a try. I did. Dear Ones, I know you are suffering. When I began going to Total HealthCare Clinic in Sandy Springs, I could barely walk, could not sleep and was feeling quite hopeless. That was in August 2014. It was the best decision I could have made. The staff made trying something new with strangers, which I am hesitant to do, very simple. They are thorough, explained and showed me what is going on in my legs and back, and gave me a schedule and a treatment plan. Each person working in the clinic have there own special gift and they share freely. They make the experience an overall good thing too. It takes time. They are committed which made me commit to the course of treatment. They know what they are doing and they know and understand traditional therapies too; they are open minded and not at all rigid in what they do. As time went on I felt more and more confident. I cooperated by doing the at-home exercises and committing to those. I will continue after I have finished treatment. Everyone worked with me. I could mention each by name and cite their gift as I saw it, but I will leave that for you to discover. I am the beneficiary of the team. I highly recommend everyone at the Clinic to you without reservation. I am at the end of my treatment (December 2014). I can walk without pain. I can sleep. I am no longer awakened by pain every time I change positions. It has taken quite awhile and at times I wondered if it would work. Sometimes I went just to be in the healing atmosphere among such good people. I kept my appointments regardless of how I felt. I am so happy I did. I am so happy I did not get discouraged and quit. Sometimes I am so aware of the absence of pain that it seems a miracle has taken place. I encourage anyone suffering to make an appointment at Total HealthCare Medical Center. Perhaps your experience will similar to mine. If you will not benefit from this modality, they will tell you. They will be honest. I am so grateful for the flyer that came in the mail to me. I am so glad I read it. I am so glad I called. I hope you too will try to let your body heal, the team will facilitate the healing. For me it was much better that using traditional, often invasive, treatments. Oh, and I no longer use pain medication. I am free of that also. I feel blessed to feel as I do and to be able to freely tell you my experience with this clinic. I truly wish you well. Beverly Nero

I have been going to Total Health Care since the end of August and it was the best decision I have made in a long time. I saw their ad in a flyer they sent out in the mail, looked at it every time it came and thought maybe I should give this place a try. So in August I called them and made an appointment got in the same week, which everyone knows is very unusual these days, To me that was a plus for them already.. Some back ground on my condition. I had back surgery over ten years ago and the surgeon damaged a nerve in my back which made my right leg number from the knee down I also have screws in my back from that surgery. Over the years my back has hurt more and more, pain awful did not know a day without pain in my legs unless I took pain meds and that just dulls the pain. and they had become stiff causing me to have a real balance issue.. I start to fall and can not stop myself. Fyi hurts really bad to fall especially face first.. When I went in for my consultation we went over what my issues were then they did x-rays. Came back the next day to go over what kind of treatment was best for me... So I actually started with the chiropractor Dr Daniels that same day. When I went in his office I could not even get up on the table by myself he helped me... After the first session with him, he said close your eyes t see yourself where you are today.. I had no idea what he meant by that but now I do... SO now lets talk about the wonderful staff, everyone is so nice... They know what should be done and they are doing it... Dr Milner know exactly where to give the shots when I am hurting to help with back issue... and he is great at it does not hurt.... The physical therapist, Dr. Patel, Richard and Andres are wonderful, nice funny and caring. They work wonders and make me feel so much better after they finish my session. Then there is Dr Daniels., He is awesome... I had never been to a chiropractor before and it was an enlightening experience. After each visit when he is finished I feel so good..... I now can get on the table by myself, lay face down get off the table by myself... Which is a very big deal considering how I was in August. I have really cut back on the pain meds. down from 6 to 2 a day... and I am not finished with my treatments yet. SO I am hoping for no more pain meds when I am done. Last but not least is Jordan the receptionist ( she rocks.) that is all I need to say about her.. So if you want relief from pain go see Total Health care.
