My husband took me to North Fulton for severe pain I was having. We were trying to make it to Northside and looking back I wish I could have stuck out the pain. To begin, I was mixed up with another patient, drew blood and hooked me up to iv fluid and said results would be back in half an hour. The nurse came in twice the entire 8 hour long visit. During my visit the nurses and security stood/sat around on the desk, flirting, talking about xbox, complaining about work, etc. The only time anyone came in was to ask who my pcp was and to restock shelves, both were very unprofessional and rude. After 7 hours of waiting to hear what was going on and having severe dry mouth I called for a glass of water. I could hear the nurses at the desk complaining about who was going to get me water. After half an hour a nurse brought me water and I asked her if there was any word yet on the lab work. She told me "that wasnt her job and she was doing me a favor." My husband said to her we had been here a long time and hadnt heard anything yet. She became hostile and yelled at my husband infront of my son which woke him up and made him cry and just kept saying she was doing me a favor and stormed out. Shortly after this, Dr. Bharara came in and was very short telling me I could leave if I wanted. I asked what the results where and she said they were still waiting to hear from my pcp... at almost midnight. She said I may or may not have a kidney stone and my kidney was swollen but it may or may not be from fluid. After being treated rudely, and still feeling aweful I decided to go. To top off the atrocious care, the paperwork they gave me was for a uti diagnosis which was never addressed and an antibiotic. My husband decided to take me to Northside, our original plan, where the staff was much more professional and attentative. Turns out I was severly dehydrated and had a kidney stone. Do not understand why Dr. Bharara wasnt able to make that diagnosis and was relying on my pcp.

I drove my husband to the ER at 3:15 in the morning for what seemed like intense kidney pain. We were the second in line for triage check-in with no one behind us. He was writhing in agony, sweating up a storm and threw up three times in the bowl we brought from home in the 25 minutes it took a nurse to FINALLY check us in the triage room. [All during this time, there were two doctors who used the vending machines behind us (during which times my husband was throwing up and visibly in need of assistance & they didnt even look our direction!)] We then had the front desk clerk check to see if she could find anyone else who could check us in and she was gone for 10 minutes, leaving us alone out front and she never returned before the original triage nurse finally called us in. It took another 20-25 to get him some pain medication, all the while it was obvious that he was in bad shape. The only nurse that did her job well was the triage nurse, Stephanie, who jumped in and helped once she realized my husbands other nurse would not be able to start an IV containing pain medication because our assigned nurse could not leave another patient. Then, going to get my husbands CAT scan report and medical records later that day for his doctor was super fun as well. Called four hours ahead and I still had to walk through the hospital maze to get the CAT scan report from the radiology dept., who then told me that they didnt have his records and to go somewhere else (not close, of course!) to get those. The lady there wouldnt give me the records, because I gave my husbands signature to radiology and said I could pay for them!!! What the?!?! This took over 20 minutes for me to obtain half the information! I then had to bother my husbands poor doctors assistant to request hospital records by fax because they wouldnt give them to me. Im obviously not in love with this hospital. Go elsewhere if youre in need of someone who cares!!!

Horrific experience! The phrase "Go to St. Josephs, or I will take you to North Fulton" definitely holds true. Basically, either go willingly and help yourself, or I will drag you to the worst hospital I know. Earlier today my grandmother was brought in for a newly found blood clot. The first nurse HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DOING. The worst was when my grandmother was told to "stop taking Plavix." Great advice...IF SHE HAD BEEN ON PLAVIX. The second nurse came in and gave my mother attitude (without even asking what was going on) when she saw my grandmother eating a candy bar. Yes. She is diabetic, this was one of the few vending machine options and it was two hours past her mealtime. In an effort to avoid any further shocks to the system (and due to lack of help from any of their staff) she did have a candy bar. When they did give her a prescription, the first nurse said two pills in the morning, two in the evening. The second nurse said one in the morning, one in the evening. The prescription was written for one in the morning, one in the evening. The discharge papers for two in the morning, two in the evening. WE ARE TRYING TO KEEP MY GRANDMOTHER ALIVE FROM TWO BLOOD CLOTS AND NOBODY CAN EVEN GET A PRESCRIPTION CORRECT. On a comfort note, all requests were delayed. A simple pillow or blanket? Of course not. FORTY-FIVE minutes later my 85 year old grandmother finally received it. Names have been omitted in hopes that someone does contact us. However, based off of todays experience, it is highly doubtful this will happen.

Absolutely the worst hospital I have ever experienced! Makes Grady look like Emory! My Mom had back surgery here b/c her doctor was booked at Northside for months in advance. I now know why. It took on average 10 - 15 minutes for an LPN to grab a nurse to assist with the bed pan. Every. Single. Time. My mom would then have to ask, every time, that they wipe her after the bed pan situation. How about one nurse told my mom - in all seriousness - to just go on the pad on the bed?! The last bed pan-scapade was going on 15 min when I took matters into my own hands & put the bed pan under my Mom, myself. I have zero medical training, & was very afraid of messing up the back that they had just operated on. It also took an average of 10 - 20 minutes for the nurse to come by to turn off the machines when the alarms would go off. No one would change her ice back for her back for hours. Things that one would consider standard procedure were out the window. Good thing my mom IS an RN, & was able to instruct the LPNs & other nurses on how to do their jobs... Theres a slew of other things that I was not witness to, so I will leave those out of this review. Im only recounting what I had experienced while staying with my Mom. Good thing she had family with her constantly during her stay - we all had to step in at one point. I dont think I can stress enough how very terrible this place was. I would not recommend it to anyone. Avoid this hospital at all costs....
