I have three rescue dogs that see Dr. Hitt, and I hope he never retires (Sorry Doc)! I have experienced some long wait times to see the doctor - usually after 5 pm when most vet offices are closed or on Saturdays and Sundays when appointments can be hard to come by. The waiting can be tedious, but it is well worth it. I cannot tell you the number of times I have walked into a vets office in my life dreading how much the visit could cost, thinking my dogs had some horrible problem that would require xrays, blood work, surgery. I have seen other vets in the past who have taken my fear and love for my pets as an opportunity to cash in. Dr. Hitt takes the proper, conservative approach without leaping to huge diagnostic costs for no reason. I trust him to give my pets the best possible care without taking advantage of me financially. I am so grateful to have found a vet I can trust with the three canine loves of my life. I have had three dogs neutered, one dog had surgical correction for a congenital luxated patellla and a myriad of other semi-comical accidents and injuries that a dog mom of three experiences throughout the years. Thanks to Dr. Hitt and the office managers and vet techs who take such loving care of my furry family members!

I have several dogs and breed Siamese cats and I couldnt imagine taking my pets anywhere else. My mother and I breed cats together, each having one stud and 3 females. Recently, I moved to Dubuque, IA, a 3-4 hour drive from timberline. I still come to Dr. Hitt for every well kitten check, every non emergency sick check and call him with any emergency problems. He is the best vet I have ever had. Last year when my husband was out of work and we didnt have a penny to spare, my therapy dog got sick. I panicked, and I call Dr. Hitt. He saw my Sammy and helped me work out a payment arrangement. When one of my mother cats was in crisis he saw her at 7pm, when they should have been closing, and performed emergency surgery to save her life and the life of one of her kittens. I know they can get busy and the wait can be very long but Dr. Hitt always gives me and everyone else who walks through the door the time and attention we deserve no matter how many other clients he has. PS: to everyone who is upset about the wait, it might suck to wait that long just for shots or a routine visit but when you have a pet that is really ill, you will come to appreciate that it is a WALK-IN clinic!

I have taken my dogs to many vets over the years. We are new to Timberline however in the one visit I can tell you that I hope they are there forever! The doc was informative and kind. I could tell that he genuinely cared for my babies. He explained in detail the things he was doing and the things we should be also. He was supportive and not demanding like most vets "your dog is fat, she needs to lose weight and its all your fault". Instead he advised on how we might be able to help our girl drop a few pounds in a way that was easy. Their fees are so cheap too. The office staff were also so engaging and kind. Their hours are awesome. I mean who works on Sundays?? THEY DO! And even though its all walk in, we didnt wait more than 30 minutes and they apologized which they didnt need to. Even with five dogs ahead of us they still were fast and thorough. I will never take my pets anywhere else, ever again. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!

Ive taken all my animals here and have loved it. However, today I called to see what the hours were and I got told 7 PM. Having to bring my dog in to get shots I got her into the car, with all of the needed paperwork and headed for the 20 minute drive. When I arrived I walked inside and the receptionist just looked at me like I didnt have a head. I politely said hi, and she just looked at me and rudely said "What are you here for?" I began to tell her and she just said "We dont start seeing patients until 4." I called at 10:57 AM and got there at 12:40. Same lady at the desk was who I talked to on the phone. How am I supposed to know that they take a break from 10-4 to do surgeries? Obviously I called for a reason. Could have better people skills and talking skills if your answering a phone and dealing with people on a daily basis. Needless to say my poor puppy didnt get to go to the vet today.

This vet is horrible. I got my puppy spayed there thinking that spaying a dog was vet 101. Well after a week of my dog still being in pain I took her into a different, closer, vet that family uses. The vet said that my dog had Dehiscence. That means that the wound ruptures along the surgical suture. This was caused because the vet at Timberline did not sew up the inside suture correctly, so her inside guts were coming out of her suture. The vet said that this could be fatal. So Timberline did something that could cause my dog to die. We treated the Dehiscence with the vet that is close to our house. I had a bad feeling going into Timberline, and I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK. I would beg people not to take their pets there. Its an awful place and you would be putting your pet in danger by going there. This place needs to be shut down.

We had an issue with our 13 yr old lab who we had brought to Dr.Hitt.. The dog who had been a family pet since a puppy was having a hard time walking not eating and having breathing problems. Dr. Hitt did some x rays which we consented to and why he had him in the back also did a blood test which we did not consent to. Are original goal was to have our family dog put to sleep so he would not be suffering anymore and the dr refused telling us that he need emergency surgery which he could not provide and to take him to another vet for the mass on his chest in which he had discovered. Dr. Hitt told us even with the surgery he would not survive more than 2 months and still be on pain pills if he survived at all. THIS IS UNFAIR TO A DOG AND PEOPLE INVOLVED... He is heart less as vet and should not be talking care of animals

I have NEVER did a review on ANYTHING... EVER!!! So by saying that, I hated this Hell whole. Both of the front desk girls were rude! The one said she was going to get our cats and then went into the back room, sat down, and started eating. The other pig at the front just didnt care that there was almost a line out of the door... The doctor is a total nut job. Didnt even tell me his name, walked in, looked at the animal, and all he said was "twice a day" the gave me meds. They shaved my cat in the wrong spot when I got him fixed. The only reason we HAD to go here is because the rescue we got them at (H.A.R.T) payed for the surgery in the adoption fee. This place sucks oh so much. I would take Cujo here to be put down... If you care about your animal, move on. I hate myself for making my animals go here.
