Alicia and Jennifer were my primary nurses after my ileostomy surgery. Both professionals have worked tirelessly for me to not only acclimate to my new lifestyle, but have extended your core i.c.a.r.e. Values to include a human touch and pleasant transition to this interesting new chapter of my life. To say Alicia and Jennifer are stellar practitioners would do them both no justice. I found your entire staff to be kind, skilled, and efficient, but in this singular patients estimation, these two nurses stand out as the model caregivers. From compassionately guiding me through a panic attack to simple engaging with me as a human in distress who needs comfort and tranquillity, both Alicia and Jennifer should be highly praised for their understanding and execution of primary functions. The value they bring to the ONOGS department cannot be overstated. I would love to take them home when I am discharged, as they both personify kindness and compassion, especially during such a personal and life-altering experience. All nurses are people but Alicia and Jennifer are wonderful people who are exceptional nurses. Please recognize the both of them with your highest praise. Deborah Morgan #OstomateRoom424

I can only applaud the nursing staff for their courtesy. We were not at all happy with the physician who chose not to put my husband on a CPM (constant movement aparatus) after double knee replacement ... the nurses, PT and family were all shocked that dr didnt order it . And not happy that they removed his morphine to be stopped 12 hours after surgery...its not uncommon to stay on morphine for up to 24 hours after double knee replacement. Suffice to say, his pain level was never below 7/8. He was forced to stand within first 24 hours after surgery and complained of dizziness & weakness, yet he received unit of blood 5 whole days after surgery (RED BLOOD CELL COUNT DROPPED to 7). Not once, did nursing/LPNs offer to wash him. He cant stand, much less walk, and forced to clean himself. Rather disappointing care. In addition, the case managers were very slow in getting him into Inpatient REHABILITATION facility. I had to stay on top of case managers to get him pre-qualified to send him to another facility. As a whole, this was not a good experience at all. Im upset with Doctor, Nursing staff, and with Case Management.

On 3/1/2011 my son decided to come into this world 10 weeks early. I was rushed into an emergency C-section with no pain meds before during or after the surgery. I woke up from surgery in immense pain while the hospital staff pointed the finger and blaming each other while I cried in pain. After 45min to 1 hour (and my husband demanding that I be given pain meds since my abdomen was just cut open) the anesthesiologist finally came into the room, yelling at the nurses, and gave me an injection. My husband and I complained to the hospital director who stated that she would contact us later with her investigation results. We never heard from her or the hospital. We also complained to my Ob-Gyn and requested that Menorah not be a recommended hospital for new moms. This was the worst, most painful and traumatic experience that I have ever had in a hospital. It was a real shame that the hospital was not competent or compassionate enough to follow up with our complaint.

Before normal everyday life takes over again, I wanted to be sure to tell the story of my experience with Menorah. Spent a week there, Gall bladder removal and pancreatitis. From the minute I walked in they took exemplary care of me. They were efficient, never made me wait for anything. When I went for tests, they explained everything they were doing and looking for. The "BACKBONE"-Nurses Staff-where top notch. Pleasant, professional, attentive, and I could see in all of them that they liked what they did, and liked where they were. You really did have a nursing TEAM, each shift, that cared. Thank You ALL! Being a "smaller" hospital had no drawbacks. If anything I was much better attended to. Everything is state of the art, including the robot that assisted in my surgery (no doubt making it much less invasive and painful).

My Dr. did a great job today performing lower back/spine surgery... my night shift nurse was very helpfulnnd caring about my needs.. However, as I lie om my Bed I see a couple of nurses that are as RUDE as they can be. They just walk into the room without knocking to take care of my roomate... they leave the door open as they exit our room and thats very annoying as Im closest to the door and ppl walking on the hallway can look into... additionally when these so called nurses bust in they dont even bother to look at us.. they seem pissed about what they do.. there are other jobs out there. Not sure they know.. I can hardly get out of bed as I had this surgery today and have been walked in while peeing next to the bed using the hand held container and they dont even bother to say "Sorry". Smh

My stay at Menorah Hospital was a total nightmare. My advice to anyone looking for a hospital is please stay away from Menorah. The only good thing about Menorah is a few very professional nurses. They dont correctly schedule their staff so you as a patient suffer the consequences. Believe me I suffered, when I needed help I buzzed for help and they actually showed up 15 minutes later. When I complain about waiting for 15 minutes the nurse told me that I was not the only patient on the floor. Just imagine how YOU would feel if you were in my shoes. I have never in my life felt so humiliated, we are not in a third world country, I pay for services rendered. The city should look into this hospital and the CEO should be fired. Menorah shame on you.

I gave birth to my daughter at Menorah back in March and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience! The nurses were AMAZING (all of them!) and they made me feel so comfortable. They were always available and quick to respond to my needs. The entire birth process went smoothly thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses. They were all very accommodating, kind and attentive to my needs. The lactation consultant was on-call and quick to assist me when I needed help or had questions. They also have delicious sugar-free chocolate cake...if youre into that sort of thing :) Seriously, such a pleasant experience. I will definitely come back to Menorah to deliver any of my future children. Thanks Menorah!!

Menorah Medical Center and its Emergency Room are by far the best in my opinion in south Johnson County area. Im sure there are reasons some may have to go to St. Lukes South or St. Lukes on the Plaza, but my recent visit to the Emergency Room at Menorah has moved this to my #1 Choice for ERs and my previous experience with being a patient in the hospital had already made it my #1 Choice for Hospitals! Great care, compassion, not a very long wait in the ER, patients comfort of utmost concern. If I have to be hospitalized again, this is the one. If I need to visit the ER, and have a choice, this is the one!

Services were great. All of the staff was prompt in making me more comfortable and getting me relief from my pain. X-rays & lab tests were completed without delay with results. I was impressed how everyone was friendly and worked together so well. When we left I felt we had received an answer to reasons for my pain They released me providing I would contact my doctor immediately. They called the next day to ensure my doctor could see me promptly.... and assisted in getting appointment soon. In fact they followed up several times to verify I was seeing my doctor.
