We just moved here and were so excited to have such a highly rated vet just down the street for our 3 dogs. Making the appointment and talking to everyone on the phone was wonderful they were super friendly and helpful, and when I had to change the appointment they accommodated me the very next day. Apparently though this appointment wouldnt be enough time for the 3 dogs. We get the weights and wait in the waiting room for Dr. Rainey and his associate. When they finally come in his associate acts like shes scared of 3 big dogs and winces when they bark at her and he pays no attention to them. I try to calm them down but when they know others arent comfortable or are nervous they remain on guard, theyre big dogs and weve been doing this for years with our other vet and had no problems because they always greeted the dogs and petted them and made sure everyone in the room was comfortable. So they didnt try to greet the dogs and the Dr just starts talking about what I need done, tell him we need routine shots to be up to date and he leaves to write up a quote and get them ready. He still has made no contact with the dogs at this point. When they come back they inform me theyre taking them into the back one by one to do the shots, which I tell them is not going to work, these dogs are a pack and do better with me with them (again been doing this same routine with my other vet for 3 years) and they tell me that one dog is very defensive and that its too high strung in the room to do the shots with all 3 of them so luckily I have someone with me who can take two out of the room for me while they give them individual shots. Then they pull out the muzzle to my surprise. My dogs have only been muzzled once and it was at an emergency vet. Theyve also never bit anyone. So this makes me uncomfortable because I know the dogs arent comfortable and they say its a policy which makes sense but Ive been to two different vets in my life and my friend has had many animals as well and neither of us have ever seen this as a mandatory unless the dogs are aggressive which barking doesnt mean theyre aggressive, just means theyre scared and need reassurance that theyre in a safe place. My dogs were terrified the entire time and after the shots Im told that were done, which I was confused because no exam was done, so I asked and he informs me I need to bring them in separately to do an exam, again, nothing like this has ever happened at another vet and I dont have time to make 3 separate appointments for my pets. So I say okay I wasnt aware and get the dogs and check out. While checking out I overhear them talking about me, specifically the lengths of time I should have had for the appointment and that I should have come earlier if I wanted them all done, but I dont make the appointments, and I told them I had 3 big dogs, so I couldnt believe they were even frustrated with me about the appointment time. Unfortunately, we wont be back. The convenience and good reviews were just too good to be true. Im sure its a wonderful facility for one animal or a couple smaller animals, but they just cant handle more than one big dog.

I moved to the La Grange area this summer and brought my dog up here first to board with Countryside while we moved. Besides the shock to the dog of a new environment I found this Vets office to be extremely caring to our dog and friendly towards us , so I have used them more than a couple of times since for family and business trips we have gone on. Before at the other boarding places the dog would seem sad beforehand, knowing what was to happen. Now the dog seems sorta happy to go, so to me that is the mark of a good vet. The prices are affordable, and less than was in Nashville. The price of the bath sorta initially scared me off though , but when you see what they do and they clip the nails ( which keeps my floors nicer) and they do more than just dip like other vets do it works out to be extremely affordable. The back yard where the seem to let them play looks pleasant and is spacious enough for them to exercise which might contribute to my dogs happiness there. So the dog is happy , we are happy with this Vets office and will use them for all our dogs needs.

I have used Dr Rainey off and on since he started his practice many years ago, coming to customers homes from a vet equipped station wagon or van I believe. He has always been exceptionally kind and loving to my cats. When I got some new kittens, I tried going to a vet closer to home. When one of my cats developed a chronic illness, I went back to Dr. Rainey for a second opinion, even though he was a 20-30 minute drive from my home. Even my young daughter commented about how caring the staff at Countryside was compared to our other vet, and we immediately switched back to him permanently. Dr. Raineys prices are more reasonable, and we love the family atmosphere. One of our friends now refers to him as the "miracle vet" for keeping our chronically ill cat alive as long as he did. Now I have another set of cats going to Dr. Rainey, and of course, with my luck, one of them developed kidney stones. With Dr. Raineys diagnostic expertise and loving manner, both of my cats remain robust and healthy now. Countryside just seems like part of our family and I give them the highest recommendation!!

I belong to three cats, and I trust Dr. Rainey and the staff with the care of all my fur babies. The staff are always friendly and happy, showing they truly have a joy and passion for caring for all the animals. Dr. Rainey is always available, very accessible, answers every question clearly and in detail, and is very compassionate and involved with his patients care. He looks at the whole well-being of each of his patients, including their emotional and behavioral well-being. His biggest concern and priority is caring for them and not dollar signs; pricing for care here is the best and most reasonable of any clinic. The high quality of care and genuine and heartfelt bedside manner of all the staff is the best Ive experienced. Im happy to have found this clinic and highly recommend it to other pet parents.

Moved to this area in the last year. Had an emergency situation for Schemy on a Saturday and this was the only vet office in the area that could get her in. Dr. Rainey gave her prompt attention and she was better in just days. They go over what shots are needed and anything else that might help your pet. In my case Schemy needed to lose some weight and was prescibed some dog food they have. She has lost weight and seems to look better and feel better. Highly recommend the staff and Dr. Rainey for all your vet needs. As a side note it put a smile on my face seeing Dr. Rainey went to a Big10 school as Schemy is named after a Michigan football coach.
