I just got discharged there about a month ago and let me tell you how my experience went. Well, first we woke up around 7 maybe 7:30ish to go eat breakfast witch honestly no one ever really did because they would make you get up if you didnt want to, in fact, they would let you sleep in as long as you wanted to and I felt like they shouldnt let people do that because when they are depressed thats mainly what they want to do anyways. After that we did goal sheets and then we went into our groups there was three different groups it was group therapy, but on the weekends they would divide us by age, which I hated because I just wanted to be with my group I usually talked to but then after that we had school or whatever (but only Monday- Friday) and then we would go to lunch and then either do art or gym, but usually we would go to gym everyday and the boys would be with us as well we would actually hang out with them a lot we would have gym either once or twice a day and then we had social group and that is usually when a social worker would come in and we would talk about meds stuff like that and then dinner and showers but there was only two showers so we would all have to wait in the hallway before could go into the day room and so after that we would get snack (wich we got 3xs a day) and get ready for bed. Now I dont think I got that in the correct order, but thats basically what we did and what I didnt like about it at all is that I felt like if I was crying or having a problem that I couldnt talk to the staff about it and with the other kids there was just tons of drama that just made even uncomfortable for me to even speak, I sat and ate at the table alone because no one liked me and they didnt handle that situation well and they also let you call home 3xs a day and visiting us every day. There were three groups there was one group which was 12 and under and another one which was 13-17 and then there was 18+ there was some really cool staffs there I liked well only two and they both worked night shift. Oh, and I was also talking to my doctor there that I have seen Dr. Keian or whatever WORSE DOCTOR EVER so basically I was crying and I was saying that I still felt suicidal and that I just dont know what will help me anymore and he just told me that Im going home like seriously I was still depressed and suicidal but youre still going to send me home. If youre thinking about sending your kid here I am begging you please dont try sending them somewhere else because this place really sucks and is no help to a child dealing with mental health issues.

The West Bloomfield ER has treated my daughter unfairly and without compassion. When she went there for intractable back pain on 9/6/16, she was left for over two hours in an uncomfortable bed without a nurse or doctor to check on her. When a nurse finally showed up to put an IV in, my daughter said she cant roll on her back because it was too painful. They left. After 15 minutes I asked about the IV and they said my daughter refused it. I explained she didnt refuse, she just cant roll onto her back. A technician showed up that was able to do the procedure. When Dr. Kessler finally showed up, he was more concerned about statements she had made such as that she couldnt live with this pain. He decided that was suicide ideation and had her involuntarily admitted for observation. My daughter did not want to be admitted and fought them. At one point she hit my chest with the back of her hand to get me to convince them otherwise. They incorrectly said she abused her father, ushered me out of the room and strapped her hands and feet down on her back which was even more painful. The next day, a psychiatrist talked to her for ten minutes, talked to me for ten minutes, then lifted the suicide watch because it was obvious that she wasnt going to hurt herself; she just cant stand the pain. When Pain Management did not show up when she was told they were going to, she did not want to stay another day so asked for discharge. After waiting three hours she finally got discharged only to find out they were not going to treat her pain at all. My daughter was once again upset and Dr. Ignacio had security throw us out, even as my daughter was on the phone to her PCP. So my daughter goes to Henry Ford West Bloomfield ER for help with her pain. They ignore her, then keep her against her will, cause even greater pain, dont show up when verbally scheduled, do not treat the pain at all, and treat her like a criminal by calling security. Its ironic that they are concerned about someone hurting themselves yet themselves push patients in that direction.

The people who are giving this Hospital 5 Stars probably All work or are employees of Henry Ford Hospital! Its True in reference to the Negative comments. The overall Nursing Staff IS Rude and Unprofessional!! My sister-in-law was hospitalized there. Her 2 sons visited daily. One of the Nurses asked them to briefly step outside her room as they performed a procedure on my sister-in-law. They willingly did so, and were standing in the hallway outside her room just waiting until they would be told they could go back in to their mothers room. All of a sudden this Rude and condescendingly Ignorant woman walked up to them and told them they had to leave the hallway. When they tried to explain to her that they were waiting to go in to continue the visit with their mother, this woman told them that she Didnt care what they were waiting for and ordered them to Leave!! Then she proceeded to call Security! When the Officers arrived at the scene, they were Totally Shocked because they knew Both of my nephews because they saw them come into the Hospital Every day and always spoke to them! This Nurse (discovered later she was supposed to be a Supervisor) began to out-n-out Lie saying that my nephews were causing a disturbance and refused to leave when instructed to. The Officers told my nephews they would have to escort them to the Lobby. However, when they got on the elevator, both Officers let my nephews know that they did NOT believe what this woman said, and proceeded to give them the name and telephone number to the Hospital Administrator so that they could file a formal Complaint against this woman!! Apparently this sick idiot/Supervisor had a bad reputation for lying and rude behavior that even Hospital Security was aware of! They told them that if enough complaints were filed, Management would be forced to do something about her! Sadly, my sister-in-law died 2 days later, however, I made Sure that my nephews followed through with their formal documented complaints.

Absolutely awful experiences time and time and time again. A.) The ER is so horrible... Even was mistaken as the wrong patient and forced to get a CT scan on my appendix due go this (ER visit Downtown, June 3rd). Dont bother pressing the Call Nurse button because they couldnt care less if you do, or are crying and screaming in pain (especially bad at West Blmfld - one nurse didnt even make it during her entire shift!!!). Completely minimize pain causing conditions and make u suffer more than you did prior to getting there (promises to admit then get kicked out in the middle if the night). B.) Pain Management Staff (Dr. Shaw) apparently doesnt believe in wasting time on examinations or even asking ANY questions about your pain. Would rather insinuate, create biased and non-fact based decisions/recommendations, in 5 minutes time, affecting the rest of your treatment through HFHS, and the other physicians take their word!!!!!!! (Dr Capelli, obgyn, Dr Haddad, pain management). Ive never in my life been treated with such disrespect, zero dignity, zero humanity and with su h an exorbitant amount of inaccuracies in my life. Im now forced to suffer, minute after minute, hours, days, weeks in the most excruciating pain I could ever imagine until I am expected to wait TWO months to get in with a specialist?!?!? Shame on you, HFHS. You eventually are going to lose lives due to people NOT being able to withstand ANY MORE pain.
