Please do not take your senior dogs to this office. They cut my 13 year old white shepherd’s nails and she has been in pain and limping on her front legs ever since. I saw two technicians through their glass door contorting her legs in the back hallway on their slippery floors while she looked frightened and slipped all around. I had told one of the girls beforehand that my Katie slips on uncarpeted floors and to walk her slow and close until they get to a carpeted area. I can only imagine what they did to get the nails on her back legs cut that caused them to end up in that slippery hallway. Dr. Osmun did give my Katie a “complimentary” exam and radiographs without sedation after my mama bear determination. The radiographs showed bilateral chronic hip dysplasia and several areas of spondylosis from T12-L4 on her lumbar spine which he said had been developing for years. Her right and left lateral elbows, lateral shoulders, lateral stifles and her cervical and thoracic vertebrae were within normal limits. He never explained the limping on her front legs nor her walking like a stick dog on the back legs that occurred immediately after the nail cut but just said that his technicians do their best when manipulating dogs to get the job done. He said there was nothing he could do but did okay taking her to a Doctor of Osteopathy, which I did. Dr. Osmun did not respond to those findings and had his office manager respond “Katie was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia, which is completely unrelated to the toe nail trim on March 28, 2016. The medical exam performed by Dr. Osmun on April 28, 2016 and radiographs on May 11, 2016 were at no charge. Moving forward, we are unable to provide any further services or dispense any medication at no charge.” My Katie’s front limping and stiff rear legs continue. My hope and prayer is that further osteopathic manipulation will result in a miracle and return her to her old self who ran and jumped and played and did everything like a pup before Companion Animal Hospital got their hands on her for a simple nail cut. Our lives have drastically changed and to think I actually took Katie to, and paid for her hobbling. The reason I had to post this is because when I attempted to explain to the office manager how I have been cutting her nails without incident for 11 years since I rescued her so this would never happen to another senior pet, her response was “As for the charges; do we know for certain that the condition occurred as a result of the toe nail trim on March 28th visit? When reviewing the record, there is documentation last June which states “per owner” back legs shake when standing and occasionally weak in the front legs. Owner questioned if due to old age. No doubt Katie has been uncomfortable, but never would any of our highly trained, licensed technicians or Doctors purposely harm a pet. It is protocol to restrain pets in the proper manner in which they were trained, in school, to do.“ That is definitely NOT what I witnessed through that glass door. My questions concerning Katie’s old age were almost a year ago and Katie was back to being a pup with 4 Happy Hips Glucosamine and Chondroitins a day for the past year which they neglected to mention or put in their record because I reported that to them also during the past year. I think it important to note that I have been a loyal customer since 93/94 and they’re treating this like a scam, to hobble my own dog to get a free complimentary exam, to put her through many, many traumatic radiographs without any sedation where she was already traumatized and then get free anti inflammatory pain meds. Yep...they found me out. Please, please don’t take a risk. Please take your seniors someplace safe and please let others know. Katie’s golden years are not so golden now. Dianes Pet Care

We took our Pom in with vomiting for months. No tests were performed to see why she was like this, only medication given to control it from happening. While still having this condition she injured her back leg. Back we went to the companion hospital. I also told them she was still throwing up and they gave her an injection and pills (medicam). Her leg was another issue they were not able to help and she would need a specialist. The next day I had to rush her to a 24 hour emergency clinic with violent vomiting and she was not eating or drinking. She had to be euthanized within 3 days of her going to Companion animal hospital. Their lack of knowledge or concern tells me that I will be very carful in returning there with my 3 other dogs and 2 cats. I will never forget how they let this happen to our little angel. I wish I could leave (0) stars but that is not an option. Stay clear of this money hungry vet. clinic.

Never go here. Always over priced and under diagnosing. Lost my German Shepard because they couldnt tell he had testicular cancer. Took him to a new vet and they figured it out after two visits but by then it was too late and he had to be put down after a life on steroids due to allergies. Charged me insane amounts to treat my cat who had scratched her ear bloody due to ear mites (which I begged that they test and said there were none) and had to bring her back a month later and guess what? Ear mites! I told them to refund my money for the obviously done wrong testing and the cream they gave me that did nothing. They refused so I have since refused to go back to them, and am I glad that I did! Only thing I regret is not being able to give them a lower rating.

You will not find a better place for your pet! I am so dissappointed to find so many bad reviews here. We started taking our dogs to Companion about 2 years ago when we moved to the area and have absolutely ZERO complaints about anything! They are a lot cheaper than our previous vet that we went to for years. Our beagle has been very sick for a long time. Dr. Harbeck has given her more personal attention than we ever wouldve expected and has been extrememely reasonable about charging us for all the tests shes needed. If we dont call her about every week to let her know how our dog is doing, she calls us! She is very dedicated to our dogs health. ALL of the staff are genuinely friendly and caring :)

The building is lovely, the front desk staff are friendly enough. I had gone there for years but no longer can afford them. $400.00 for 2 healthy dogs to get vaccinations is just too ridiculous for me to pay anymore. My biggest complaint over the years is that you never see the same vet twice and they contradict each other nearly every visit, they really should compare notes more. Biggest reason I wont be back is the price, in this economy I cannot believe that they still charge so much for the routine visits. Im going someplace else because its that or dont take my dogs to the vet at all.
