After being literally robbed by 2 other vets in the Clinton Township area I took my friends advice to go see his familys practice at Stony Creek. The emergency vet at Hall Rd & Romeo Plank took Brodie into another room and pressured me into signing a paper that I would pay them at least $680 in cash and that the bill could be up to $900+. They didnt want to even discuss what was going on with him until we got the payment arrangements addressed. Seeing I was vulnerable because it was 7:00 pm on a Saturday they knew they had me. Conveniently the bill was just over $900 and all they could do for him was give him an IV and watch him until Monday while I freak out for the next 38 hours. They said there was nothing else they could do because they are just an ER. They prescribed some pain meds and sent me to Serenity. Serenity told me they needed to prescribe different meds and suggested I donate the meds I just bought from the ER to them and told me to just see what happens in s few days. Said that if he didnt get any better to bring it back in and they would put him to sleep. When I brought him to Stony Creek they did extensive x-rays and brought other vets into the room so they could brainstorm about what might be causing his paralysis. They watched him for a couple days and got him on some steroidal treatment and within 5 weeks he was learning to walk again. The bedside manner and the way they treated him was top notch! I feel confident and appreciative to Dr Hoonhout and his daughter, Dr McLeod. They saved his life a second time. Dr Beason is currently helping to maintain his quality of life. All the bills were VERY reasonable. They have proven without any doubt that they are in it for the animals/owners and not the money. What they charge keeps the lights on and the doors open. They arent price gouging like the others. Cant describe how much that means to me. Glad I found them! PS. The bad review by Google User below, it seems he/she was irritated that they werent given a prescription for a dog that wasnt even examined by them. Also wanting half price for a surgery for 1 testicle? Discussing options? It is a weird review to write. I hope everyone ignores that negative review.

WORST Vets ever....I have had nothing but the worst experience at this vet office,I have given them 3 chances to prove to me that it was just a bad day,And to my surprise all visits were worst than the first. First problem was with our cat,we went there to have him neutered and when i called to check on him all was fine.when i arrived to pick him up i was inform one of his testicle never dropped and they went ahead a just gave him a half neuter where he couldnt breed but still have the need to want to..I believe they should have called and discussed the options with me first needless to say the surgery wasnt half price for a not real neuter job, Second,,took my puppy in to be checked for worms it took them to send the specimen out to get a culture to know weather he was infected,It came back positive the next day i went to get the medication and inquired about my other boxer,,who was the older brother to the puppy,,my friend who went to another vet with the puppies sister was given med for there puppy and preventives med for there older boxer,I asked for the same so my other dog would be save as well and was told to go to the other vet and get service there.. by the female vet at this office..and almost was refused the med for the puppy..needless to say i will be returning to North Gratiot Vet where they treat there animal loving client with care..I will never advise anyone to take there pets to this place...

Dr. McLeod is the kindess, most thorough, not to mention extremely educated vet I have ever had the pleasure to have treat my animals. It was NOT a good trip, my dogs legs had given out and he was unable to walk. He was 15 years old and an intrinsic part of our family. After X-Rays were performed, they revealed he was riddled with unoperable cancer. His spirits were high and not in obvious pain so Dr. McLeod went ABOVE and BEYOND what other vets would do, including Cortisone shots to get him up again, all for a very modest expense. Unfortunately the attempts did not work and we had to make the most difficult decision of our lives to put him down. We were so upset and unable to be with him during the procedure. Dr. McLeod sat with him during the entire process, her father and also a fantastic vet Dr. Hoonhout put him down. Both handled our grief with EXTREME respect and honor. I have had animals all my life and dealt with many vets over the years, their attention to detail, sensitive attitude and NEVER GIVE UP on our animal attitude is a breathe of fresh air to say the least. Losing a pet is NEVER easy and the pain is almost unbearable, but I have to say I have closure here. I KNOW THEY DID everything they could for him and gave him EVERY opportunity and RESPECT right through the end. THANK YOU STONY CREEK staff, Dr. McLeod and Dr. Hoonhout for your dedication to your patients AND your clients!!!

Dr. McLeod had been taking excellent care of our dog for about nine years. She has always been willing to explain anything weve asked either in the office, or over the phone. She has always returned calls in a timely manner, and has even called us to follow up on progress (even on her day-off). Dr. McLeod has always gone above and beyond to help our pet! Most recently, she and her father, Dr. Hoonhout, met us on their day-off when our dog succumbed to her illness and could not fight any longer. If we ever have another pet, there is no doubt that we will continue to drive the twenty minutes past other veterinary hospitals to get to Stony Creek!

There are no better vets then the ones at Stony Creek. I have been taking my animals to them for 10 years, even at their old location and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. These people truly care about the animals and making sure that those of us who love our pets understand and feel good about any and all treatment. They have always been available when I have needed them and when things were beyond their abilities, I was referred to wonderful specialists. Top notch service, facilities and compassion is on the top of their resumes and I cannot thank them enough for everything they do!!

We picked up our cat from the Humane Society and he had a very bad case of pertussis. They did a superb job getting him on the right medicine and diet. On top of that having him neutered and de-clawed went so so much smoother than it had with previous cats at other vets. I cant think of anything else you would want in a vet. Very friendly staff, gorgeous facility and expert care. I was recommended to them by a family member and it the right choice for little OReilly.
