If you need to see a doctor and are without insurance, have an urgent medical issue, or do not have a general practitioner (or even if you do) I highly recommend that you visit PromptMD. After my visit with Dr. Islam and after my overall experience with PromptMD, I may never go back to my GP. When I first arrived, with a 102 fever, I was immediately helped by the receptionist, Lisa, who was very friendly. I waited for less than 5 minutes before I was called. In the waiting room and on my way to the examination room, I noticed that the facilities were new, clean and modern. The nurses cared for me as soon as I settled down in the examination room. They were very professional and thorough, but were also extremely warm and considerate. They offered some Motrin to take down my fever, and when I said I probably should not take it because I had not eaten all day, they came back with some crackers and a couple of glasses of water so that I could take the Motrin. The nurses saw that I was feeling very sick and did everything they could to make sure that I was comfortable. Then, when I first met Dr. Islam, I felt like I was meeting a friend whom I had not seen in a long time. He was extremely affable, but at the same time, very professional. He made me feel at ease throughout my entire examination. I needed to have blood work and x-rays done to narrow down the causes for my illness and both the x-rays and the blood work were done at the facility within 15 minutes. When the results came back, Dr. Islam explained the situation, the treatment and the recovery time, and said he would see me in a few days to check up on me and that he would do it free of charge! As I was leaving, Dr. Islam gave me his card and told me to call him with any questions or problems. The entire staff who had helped me during my visit all said goodbye to me as I left and gave their well wishes. I felt like I was part of their family. I have lived in several different countries and have lived in several different parts of the United States. I have never had a better experience at a doctors office than the one I had with PromptMD.

I really wish I knew of this place earlier. If you have a non-life-threatening health problem or emergency, such as a fever or an injury, this is *the* place to go - and they are open weekends! No long waits like in the emergency room. I had a bacterial respiratory infection and couldnt get an appointment with my doctor, so I went to this place and it only took 30 min to diagnose and get an Rx. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Dr Jani was very kind and attentive. The best thing - blood work was done on the premises, and the results were ready in 5 min! No long walks to your insurance-supported lab. When you are sick, this is a huge advantage. I understand they can also do some X-rays, although not chest X-rays or other complex diagnostics - for that they will write you a script, like your doctor would do. Another important thing is how affordable the care is. The doctors consult plus blood work was only around $150. If you have any out-of-network coverage, this is really inexpensive, and even if you dont, this is worth the saved time and effort, especially if you need help during the weekend. They also didnt charge for a follow-up, which was very kind. Im not sure if it is a good idea to think of this place as your PCP facility, but given how hard it is to get prompt appointment these days, it provides great service to Hoboken residents. Also, if you have a serious life-threatening emergency, you should go to emergency room, where they will do complex diagnostics on-site. For everything else, this is a perfect place.

Over the course of last week I began to experience pain in my groin, urinary tract and male parts that at first I could ignore, but by Friday it had gotten very painful and disconcerting. My primary doctor couldnt take me on such short notice, so I researched and decided that PromptMD was my best option (as opposed to an ER where Ive always had bad experiences). In a word, Dr. Islam was incredible. I waited only about 10 minutes to see him, the staff was friendly and the place is very clean. After ruling out two possibilities with urine and blood tests, I had to have an incredibly undesirable exam for a man. Dr. Islam made it as painless as possible. Turned out it was a prostate infection, which I got a prescription for, picked up at the pharmacy next door, and by the next day I was already feeling better. The bill was completely reasonable for the amount of time, attention, and tests the staff performed, and completely worth it for the physical and mental relief of having serious pain for an unknown cause. Dr. Islam even called me two days later to see how I was feeling. I cant thank him enough. If youre ill in Hoboken, West New York, even in NYC, and dont have insurance or dont have time to wait for your regular doctor, go see them without hesitation.

5. If I could rate higher, I would. I came in, the receptionist was kind and didnt express frustration or make fun of my delirious attempts to explain my symptoms. They let my boyfriend fill out my paperwork as I had a stomach virus and didnt feel well enough to sit up. They let me go to the bathroom in the back before being seen when I got sick and they gave me a bin when I returned in the event I got sick again during the wait time which was no more than 5 minutes. The staff and doctor were inexplicably incredible. Very comforting and respectful. Once I was diagnosed they even gave my boyfriend my prescription to be filled next door while I rested so that I could be medicated immediately. They then invited me to rest there longer when he returned to give the meds a moment to kick in before the drive home. As a young adult, I have experienced a great deal of sexism and agism when seeking out health care. So much so that I now avoid doctors as much as possible. I have not received such attentive, kind, and humanizing care since I was a child going to the pediatrician. I am immensely grateful for the care providers that assisted me last night and would recommend this place to anyone. This is the kind of place you leave and think "not all angels have wings".

After waiting around for awhile for someone to show up to the receptionist area, a nurse or assistant stated it would be $90 because they dont accept insurance. And after I expressed my surprise that they dont take insurance, she proceeded to have an attitude with me and walked away as I sorted out if I could front the $90. I waited around for at least 5 minutes or so and no one came back to the receptionist area. I knocked on the window no response. Opened the window and yelled hello and no one was to be found. Eventually the doctor came back to greet me and said the nurse or assistant that came trailing behind her would help me. The wait itself wasnt long once the paperwork was filled out. The nurse that took me was very nice and pleasant, even making small talk. I thought the doctor was very friendly and competent and quickly wrote my prescriptions. The receptionist that was no where to be found the first time was at the desk by the time I left. She was very short, unpleasant, and unsmiling. I believe the staff upfront should do their job by making people feel comfortable when the patients coming in clearly are not.
