Dr. Osborne lied right to my face. The morning after receiving a bordetella nasal vaccine, my dog starting to experience severe coughing and sneezing that would shake her entire body. It scared my dog, as well as me. When I took her back to Monroe Family Pet Hospital, I asked them whether this was a common allergic reaction to the vaccine (something that would pass with time, with or without medication) or a serious condition that needed immediate intervention. They took my dog back and looked at her for 2 minutes, then came out and the girl at the front desk said it was normal allergies (hay fever), and that the vet prescribed a medication. She then said my bill was over $90 for the exam fee and the medication. My dog had never had allergies like this, had NEVER had symptoms like this until the morning after getting this vaccine. So I questioned her about this. She finally brought Dr. Osborne out, and I asked the same thing. I asked if it was just an allergic reaction to the vaccine that would pass with time. She insisted that the vaccine could never cause any allergic reaction. She said it was definitely routine allergies. (that miraculously acutely appeared for the very first time after the vaccine). Flabbergasted that she could make that bold statement, while still concerned about the well-being of my dog, I went ahead and paid the entire bill despite knowing better. I ended up giving her only 1 or 2 doses of the medication, because with time the coughing spells became less and less frequent. Research since then has shown that material put out by the vaccine manufacturers themselves states that the same symptoms my dog had may occur in some dogs after having the vaccine, and they are only a concern if the airway becomes obstructed. So either Dr. Osborne knowingly lied straight to my face in order to sell me on an unnecessary prescription, or she is completely incompetent and unknowledgeable about the medications she uses in her practice. Either way, you are better off steering clear of this establishment.

I have found everyone at this practice to be wonderful, from the kindness of the folks answering the phone, to Julie the vet tech who comes out and kisses my dog when she sees us in the waiting room. Tiki is 15 years old with an enlarged heart. She has had bad teeth and horrible breath for over 2 years, but I couldnt find anyone who would work on her teeth due to her age and health. I finally found Monroe Family Pet Hospital and saw Dr. Beth Osborne, who was very kind and put Tiki on the correct amount of heart medication. Then we saw Dr. Jason Tarabrella, who said that while there was a definite risk of Tiki not making it through dental surgery, he would take the risk if I would. He said that he believes quality of life is more important than quantity. After putting her on an antibiotic, he pulled all of her teeth, and she is like a new dog. She eats better and has more energy than she has had in years. He gave me an estimate, and even though the surgery was more than he had estimated, he did not charge me any more than promised. Follow up pain medications where given in pre-measured, capped syringes so it was very easy to dispense. I travel an hour to get there, but wouldnt dream of taking her anywhere else unless I had to in an emergency.

To anyone saying that my mother (aka Dr. Osborne) is "mean" or "lying" or "just doing it for the money" can I just say, she doesnt do it for the money, she does it because SHE WANTS TO HELP ANIMALS, so if you complain about my mom think of this first. Although some people might not think that THEY CARE, trust me, Ive had to stay at that clinic for hours, and they care so much and to me, these people are the nicest, kindest, and most reasonable people ever. Yes, it costs a lot of money, but thats because its operations, you dont understand what goes into the work. Even if its something little, there is a lot more than you realize. Everyone there is so nice, and they do it for the pets so yes, to anyone looking at these, go to this animal hospital because the people there care.

Monroe Family Pet Hospital took care of my fur baby so well! Dora is a female,Great Dane. She had surgery and she couldnt get up in the SUV, one of the techs , Kristen came outside with us and helped me get her in my vehicle. Dora is 93lbs. The front desk was very helpful. The doctor was very friendly as well. Everyone working there treated us like family. I recommend them to anyone! Also my Dog is a Rescue and Joesphs Legacy helped us get this Rescue beauty spayed and her stomach stapled to prevent Bloat or Gastric torsion. This is common in Great Danes. Thank you so much!!! I am pretty sure I will be a foster failure

We just moved to the area from northern Virginia and chose Monroe based on a neighbors recommendation and proximity to our house. We took our dogs in for vaccinations that we thought were required before boarding them. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They requested paperwork from our prior vet and discovered that our dogs were up to date on all vaccines. They didnt charge us a dime yet they weighed and did a cursory exam on both dogs. I was very impressed with them and will continue to get care for our pups from this office.

When our young cat Silver severely injured his hind leg, we took him to the Monroe Family Pet Hospital. Dr. Tarabrella, Dr. Osborne and the entire staff were fantastic. We were afraid that little Silver would lose his foot. They not only saved his foot, but he has regained full use of it and only has a few scars to show for his bad injury. It was a six week journey, but the staff was friendly, courteous, and professional throughout the entire ordeal. This is one of the best run facilities I have seen and I highly recommend them.

Dr. T is an excellent veterinarian and has always been wonderful with all of my different animals. When my now 4 year old cat was just a tiny kitten and had an accident involving his eye, Dr. T and his staff were able to perform surgery and remove his eye, when we thought we were going to lose him to the injury. He also has been a great help in maintaing the health of my 19 year old "puppy". Along with his staff of knowledgeable, friendly, and caring people, I wouldnt think of taking my babies any place else!

Jason and his employees are TOP NOTCH. We had bought our black lab from Jacks Aquarium. Shortly after we noticed he was sick. Not just sick but very sick. Took him to Monroe Family Pet Hospital and Jason looked him over. Ended up he had Coccidia, parvo, and worms. Jason and his staff were very compassionate and we decided to get him treated. Long story short. "Jake" is doing very well. He is a strong 110lbs 3 year old lab. I owe it all to Jason and his crew. I will take my pets to them and them only. Paul

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have to drive farther to their facility but its worth it. Was going to schedule an appointment to screen for heart worms and parasites but was told I did not need these tests till July. The past 3 vets I used to use would have took my money rather than wait till the tests were due. The price for flea and heart worm meds are way less expensive than what I was paying for the same brand.
