Went in as a new patient after being referred here by my dental insurance and a friend back in April. I made sure when I made my appointment to let them know I would be using said insurance. I showed up to my appointment the recommended 15 minutes early, actually a little more than that. I sat and waited for about 20 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment... Now I realize things happen and appoints run late... but it took me going up to the counter and asking before I was acknowledged again. It was still about 10-15 minutes longer before I was called back. Then while I was back getting my exam, the hygienists were complaining about being there late... Again, I understand, but do your complaining out of earshot of your customers. Fast forward to the end of my appointment, talking to the lady who does the billing. She tells me she doesnt find coverage for me with my insurance. Which is untrue, I had called my insurance before my appointment to confirm that it would be covered. Well, she says she would check on it the next day and let me know... (Still havent heard from her...) Time passes, I got a bill. I tried to call and speak with someone about it to have them bill my insurance that had since been cancelled as that company is a WHOLE different story. However, I DID have coverage at the time of my service, which is what matters for insurance. The person I spoke with told me "Well, Ive never heard of them covering something after the policy has been cancelled, but Ill try anyway." Well, Ive still not heard anything. Not impressed.

Very disappointed in this office (although overall much better experience than the Keizer office). After the Keizer office cancelled my appointment twice, I called the Albany office to set up an appointment there. Miraculously, they were able to see me at a time I could attend. I showed up for my appointment and was told I was not scheduled at their office (despite calling their direct line, and confirming the address with the scheduler after setting up my appointment) and they very much made it seem like I was the one who made the mistake. The receptionist was kind, and offered to schedule me a new appointment. I scheduled for the next day, and was then called later to be told that appointment was cancelled and asked if I could come in two days after my initial appointment instead. After being late to work one day and then asking to change my schedule for now no apparent reason, I agreed to the newest date assigned to me (the 5th try now between 2 offices to get a simple cleaning). On the day I was finally seen, my appointment was nearly 30 minutes late to start because apparently in the two days between my "lost" appointment and rescheduled appointment, no one could be bothered to ask for my X-rays (which were normal with no concerns) to be sent to the Albany office. Everyone I encountered was very nice which made a terrible situation slightly better. However, I am appalled an office can operate in this manner and still have patients. I am moving in a few months and am so happy I will never have to deal with Aspen Dental again.

Aspen Dental has a policy where you must undergo a new patient exam before you can get a cleaning and the cleaning can not be scheduled for the same visit as the exam. From what I was told there are no exceptions to this policy, so if youre looking for a friendly, quick cleaning youll have a minimum of 2 visits to schedule. In my one visit to Aspen, the staff lost my insurance info (which I had called in), my new patient form (which I had completed days before), and the new patient x-rays I had taken in my visit. I requested digital copies of my x-rays within a week of my visit and have been told at every juncture that those records take 1-3 days to be sent. Its now been 3 weeks and I have still not received my records even with calling multiple times. I was told on the phone that "corporate sends those" and when I asked for a number for the corporate headquarters, I was told "We dont have any contact info for them". When I asked how they contact their bosses, I was told, "we leave them a voicemail and they get back to us when they can". I was unimpressed with the Dentist I saw as well. Upon reviewing my x-rays, he suggested replacing all of my current fillings with new ones even though they "are probably fine" and was quoted a $1200 bill after insurance to do so. When I got a second option, the second dentist (at a different office) verified the fillings did not need replacing.

Classic bait-and-switch operation. Remarkable front office and x-ray tech, but things go downhill once you deal with the office manager. They tried to overcharge me thousands of dollars for periodontal treatment I later discovered would have been generally covered by my insurance. Further, while negotiating treatment and price with them (when did dentistry become like a swap meet??), the office manager canceled the next appointment I made and called to notify me 45 minutes before the Monday morning appointment! I then called the office and was told by that same office manager that the next appointment would not include the full periodontal treatment as promised by the dentist! They were going to do it in stages. I knew then I have to go somewhere else. Ive never been treated so poorly by a dental office. So now, I am scrambling around finding another local dentist to treat a serious periodontal condition. I submitted a complaint against them to my insurance company. Stay away from this place.

Both my wife and I have used them since they opened in Albany. Recently we mailed two checks to them and they claimed that they received one, quite impossible as they were in one envelope. We called to see why they had taken so long to deposit the check, they said they would call back and we waited two weeks before having to call them. Justin in the office took no responsibility and said we would just need to cancel the check, which costs almost as much as the $40 check. We received a call about a week later asking about the open balance, we asked if there was a due date and the girl said no, so we told her we would bring it in next time we were in town and that was the end of that. Not even three weeks later we received a collection letter with no prior warning. Now this is on our credit. We have always paid our bills to them but moved out of town and hadnt been in to drop off the check that those morons lost in the first place. Unprofessional to say the least, find a better dentist.

I do not like to go to the dentist for bad times when I was little, but even so everyone must go . The office gal was very nice and knowledgeable , the dentist and assistant were very good, had little hard time understanding the dentist. Both very professional and seem to tell me straight out what needed to be done. This is where the good review stops. I am 73 yrs. old, I have no dental ins. so I purchased this plan that gives you 20% - 50% off on all types of dental work, and I checked a couple times on line to make sure the Aspen Dental I was going too was on this list. To cut this short I was told I had been given a big discount and yet the price was at least 2 times what it should have been and upon checking with a another office you were still a lot higher including the discount which the other office did not offer. I would have come back had your prices been even a little close to what was listed. Sorry.
