A place that conducts healing procedures should be a relaxing and pleasant environment. A colonic is not just a medical procedure; it is a process of internal cleansing and you should try to relax and feel peaceful when you have one. Unfortunately, this place will do the exact opposite! It is dirty, shabby, smelly and very poorly run. It is NOT a good place to go for a colonic -- I would NOT recommend it to anyone -- and this is too bad because there do not seem to be all that many places in Philly. The main problem seems to be that the whole operation is very very poorly run and the woman in charge appears entirely incompetent. She is a nervous frantic type who is constantly stressing and hassling over one thing or another. To hear her arguing or simply speaking much too loudly on the phone while you are waiting for your appt is not enjoyable. Moreover, she is rude and abrupt and harsh. Her energy is enough to stress you out just by being near her. I am not being too sensitive here. She was really like a cloud of nervous energy and it permeates the entire office and all of the people that work there and us --the clients. It is surprising to me (maybe I am just naive) that someone in this field - a helping profession, a healing profession - is more interesting in making a buck than in helping people.T The following are just a few of the other problems: The place STINKS! They people who work there eat at their desks so the waiting room is filled with the nauseating smell of cheesesteaks and french fries. Disgusting! They squeeze the appts in and this has caused all sorts of problems for the clients. Each time I went I had to wait and wait, once for 40 minutes after when my appt was. If an appt runs over, they either make the next one wait or, as what happened to me, they will just stop your appt early! It is a mess!! If clients are late, they actually berate them - I have seen it myself! She actually yelled at someone for being late! The colonics themselves were just okay, but twice the young woman who did it actually decided (or was told to) rush through the process and cut it short for the next appointment because they took me late (I was not late). Over-scheduling, poor planning, no care for clients... A colonic should NOT be rushed! In fact, sometimes it might take longer than usual to be able to get "results" and to stop the procedure early can mean wasting the entire session. I really couldnt believe she had to do that. I have never had that happen at any of the other places I have had colonics (and I have had many in the US and in Europe). They actually charge the clients for the processing fee for paying with a credit card! That is a cost of doing business and it is appalling to pass it on to the client. In all, this is not a place I would recommend. My complaints are not petty ones. If you want a quality colonic at a clean professional office that is committed to their patients, please do not make the mistake of going here. It was actually an awful and upsetting experience.

BEWARE BEWARE I had a body wrap here at the end of December 2011. The girl wrapped me and said she would be back to check in on me but never came back until it was time for me to get unwrapped. I was not told of any movement restrictions and had moved my arm while I was lying on the table. Since my muscles were wrapped and had no range of motion (which is what I was told by 3 different dr.s) I tore my muscle in my upper left chest. It is March 2012 and I am still in severe pain and now have to start physical therapy. Im out a ton of money for co-pays and physical therapy, besides wasted time seeing dr.s and going to physical therapy and I didnt even lose a half inch. The measurement was no different afterwards. When I complained I was only offered a $15 refund and was told I did lose something. The girl that measured me told me the before and after measurements so how could this lady who was not in the room and who did not measure me say I lost something? She also told me shes been doing these body wraps for years and said my pain couldnt have been from that. The pain was instant right after I moved my arm and I was fine before I was wrapped. If shes been doing these for so long she should know to tell people not to move while their muscles are wrapped to prevent injury. Dont waste your money!

Health Connections is great place in Philly, in a very safe neighborhood--and very easy to find, too! (Right next to Wawa on South 2nd.) Theres also discount parking underneath the building, if you are going to be staying for a while. The services they perform here are really great for tuning you up and making you feel the best you can. Ive taken advantage of the colon therapy, which really cleans out your system of impurities and gets rid of that gassy, bloated feeling. Great for constipation, too. You will feel lighter and just plain better afterward. The female therapist stays with you the enter time, unlike other places where you are kinda on your own! Ive not done the Body Wrap, but Ive seen a lot of customers come in for that and they seem very satisfied about losing inches in just one session! (We talk a bit in the waiting room sometimes.) And Master Park is simply AMAZING. Hes a chi-energy healer that comes in twice a year from Korea. His sessions are just 15 minutes, but they work!!! Ive had muscle and joint pain, and anxiety issues, and Master Parks intense acupressure, with his knowledge of chi energy, really makes a difference. I really felt like a new man! But remember: hes only around twice year, so take advantage of his visits.

I made an appointment with Master Park at Health Connections after suffering from back pain for years. A co worker of mine suggested it, as I have never tried anything holistic before. Master Park was able to make me feel better in my first 15 minute visit than any team of doctors has been able to in years. Ive now seen Master Park 4 more times and I am a believer. Hes able to heal you using chi energy, I still am learning about chi energy but I am so thankful I made that first visit, it has changed my life. I also had my first colonic appointment last week after speaking to other people in the waiting room who have been doing them as well as seeing master park. I was VERY nervous about the whole thing, but Victoria took the time to explain everything to me, and make me feel extremely comfortable. After the colonic I already am feeling a bit better in general. Anne, who runs Health Connections spent about a half hour answering all of my questions about the colonic, health and the work Master Park does, she is a real sweetheart. I would recommend Health Connections to anyone, the staff is amazing as is the work they do!

I dont know about this place. What sucks the most is that it is hard to find a place in Philly that does Woods Gravity Colonics, when I found this place I was really excited and its in my neighborhood! But no, it was not a good experience. As someone who has several other colonics at other places, this experience was not enjoyable. The place is unclean (papers everywhere, clutter) and unprofessional. They dont seem to care at all about customer service. I waited 20 minutes for my appointment to start and 15 minutes to pay (when two staff members were sitting right there! When I asked them to ring me up they told me I had to wait for someone else!). The only good reviews here are in regards to Master Park, I cant speak to him, but it seems like thats the only reason this place has more than one star. The colonic was awful. Avoid Avoid Avoid. Even if you have to go to NYC, which is where Ill go back to (which shows just how much I dislike this place), to find a place that uses Woods Gravity system. Did I say avoid going here? EVER.
