Dr Blanton is great with kids but spends no time at all with the parents explaining what needs to be done. Everything besides the exam is done by her staff. I tolerated this because my son needed several things done to his teeth and I didnt want him to be afraid. I was upset that everything had to be paid for up front. It took me months to save the money for a crown on one of his teeth but I stayed with Dr Blanton because of her ease with children. My son had a crown put on his front excisor, tooth "C", the beginning of November, 2011. Then I changed him to our family dentist since he was now comfortable going to the dentist. It is now end November 2012 and the crown is gone and has to be replaced. I called Dr Blantons office and was told not only would I have to pay AGAIN to have the crown fixed but I would also have to pay for her to even look at my son before she would replace it. I paid out of pocket over 200$ for this one tooth to be fixed; it lasted less than a year yet I have to pay to have it fixed again. From the beginning I was only impressed with Dr Blantons skills with children; her lack of communication with me, her greedy office staff that would not even consider setting up payment arrangements on my part of the bill (after insurance paid half), and now the fact she will not even look at a tooth she supposedly had already fixed without charging me is enough to have me writing reviews on any website I can find and contacting the dental association.

This is probably the worst dentist for children. Our son had what we were told were grooves in his teeth that facilitated him having a couple of cavities. The fillings would last for about 10 - 11 months and then fall out; we would call them and they would make us pay for the fillings to be replaced. The last straw was when one of our sons teeth had a filling fall out for the 3rd time; when we called they said you will have to bring him in and pay for a visit for us to look at him and then pay to have it fixed. I went there in person and asked to speak with the Dr. and was told she does not speak to parents; the lady a the desk could not get it through her thick skull why we felt they dentist should repair it for free; especially since it was the 3rd time it fell out. I spent almost 30 minutes debating it with them and they refused to budge. Since then we have taken him to another dentist and they said that the work done was so bad that he will have to have 3 teeth crowned that had had fillings applied from this dentist and that they put so much sealer on his mollars that it never set and had been damaged to the point that he now has a soft spot on one of his permanent mollars. This dentist has now caused us to have to have approximately $2,000 in additional work done to our 6 year olds mouth. This is the worst dental practice there is; do yourself a favor and find another one.

We absolutely LOVE Dr. Richards and her staff! I drive from out of state because I havent met a more qualified, professional dentist in our area. Dr. Richards uses the most modern equipment available and knows all of the newest techniques. Dr. Richards is great with both of my children. She has been so patient with my daughter who is very scared and apprehensive about any procedures. Dr. Richards takes the time to talk, not only to me as a parent, but also to my children about what to expect during the appointment and how to improve their dental health. My children have been going to Dr. Richards for 18 years and have never had a bad experience. Her staff is very informed about insurance coverage, always follows up to check on my children after procedures and even calls when I make appointments that are unusual (such as taking my kids on different days) just to be sure! It is without hesitation that I recommend Powdersville Pediatric Dentistry.

Make sure you look at your treatment plan really good and ask about it. My sons went from $697.60 to $3235.00. Noticed that they double charged. When I questioned it all got rude with me. Never would return my calls. Went up their twice to sit down and go over it. Either nobody was there to sit down with me or told to busy. My son has been here for years . Never had to have much work done. So definitely wasnt going to fork out this much without checking into it. So never got any answers from them. Went to another dentist and well all I to say is that Powdersville pediatric is frauding people. At the new dentist the bill was only $528.50. And other work I was told not needed. And when I had them send over X-rays . The X-rays was messed up. X-rays they took was fine. I seen them . So they just sent bad ones to new office. Have proof of all plans from old office and new office. Just beware.

Just read the other reviews & my & youll see. Horrible Dentist Be Aware!!! If you love your children & concern about their well being I strongly recommend you dont take them to this dental facility. Both my young boys needed a procedure done which was "questionable" and were a bit anxious and I & their mother as we love our children. Well once all was done the dentist and staff were cursing, belittle me as a father and a total disrespect which let me to believe shes bias as well disrespecting my boys by calling them princesses. This is a dentist with no respect towards you & no remorse about how she speaks about her clients along with no confidentiality for the people who get them paid. Which by the way this was not a cheap procedure (questionable) out of my pocket was about $1200 plus whatever charges to the insurance. Horrible Dentist Be Aware!!!

Just left the dentist. Dr. Richards is great with my kids, they feel at ease going to the dentist. Why I have them such a low rating is due to their billing. Both of my kids had cavities and need fillings. They refuse to do the fillings in one appointment, so I have to schedule the fillings in three separate appointments. Each appointment is over $300.00, after insurance. I asked for a payment plan, since this is $600.00 a visit for both kids. Nope, no plans available. Money is due upfront. Who can afford this?? For three filling appointments I will end up having to pay almost 2,000 up front. I hate to leave Dr Richards, but I cannot afford her plan.

Be aware of this pediatric dentist office billing. You are charged double for the procedures and the purposefully take weeks to send you back the difference after they have received insurance pay. Dr. RICHARDS and Lori the hygienist are great at what they do but the business practices are a little unethical. My daughters have been patients here for a few years but unfortunately I will be moving to another location. I cant trust the advice given for dental procedures if I know I am already been cheated in the business office on purpose as they are fully aware of what they are doing
