I had a very pleasant experience with Banfield in Denton. I have a regular vet that I love going to, but in this instance, I didnt have time to take off during the so I went to Banfield. I dont plan on going back unless I have another time conflict, but its nice to know I have a backup to my regular vet. I recently adopted a puppy from a shelter and I thought she was coming down with kennel cough. I called ahead of time to make sure they took care credit -they did. My regular vet stopped taking care credit so it was nice that I could actually use it here. I also had a coupon for the free exam for new patients and it was truly free - no purchase necessary. They treated my new baby with utmost care and walked me through every step. They examined her & then gave me the estimate, which in my case, was the exact amount. It was a fair price and actually turned out cheaper than my regular vet since I had the free exam coupon. I got her exam & meds in less than 30 minutes. Great experience & would definitely go back. Oh & I was never pressured to buy the optimal wellness plan or pay for other services than what I went in there for.

This place is more concerned about signing you up for plans than being better educated on how to take care of your pet. My dog had heart worms and they were gung hoe about just pumping my dog with immiticide not letting me know that there is a chance that this arsenic based compound could very well kill my dog. Also they didnt seem to know that immiticide does not kill all the heart worms in a pet. They didnt bother to tell me or possibly know the life cycle of heart worms. Which giving my dog this dangerous drug meant that in a couple of months she would be infected again with the L3 staged heart worms. But they were very good to tell me that all the treatments I needed perfectly coicided with their wellness plan (seriously to a tee) they pretty much tried to scare me into the wellness plan which I signed up for and later after being educated by a real doctor then rescinded my sign up. Stay away from dumb doctors stay away from Banfield.

Ive taken my pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) here for years. Ive never had any specific problems with them. That said, this is a franchise, not a family vet. You are very unlikely to see the same vet on two visits. One day you may get a great vet, the next not so much. If youre looking for a relationship with a specific vet, this isnt for you. If youre looking for a convenient vet where you can get shots, vaccines, and a general wellness checkup then you should have no problems. If you have an emergency, theres a 24 hour vet emergency room a few miles south on I-35. Theyll see you immediately, but youll pay for it as with any ER. I will say that the price for their medications (flea/tick/heart worm specifically) is significantly higher than what youll find at online stores. They will usually price match, but it has to be by brand, not by medication. Since they often have their own brand, you may not always be able to price match.

Please take your pet to another veterinarian. After taking my 10 week old puppy in for the same problem and requesting further testing on the third visit, they finally did it and found she needed surgery; by that time it was too late and she could not be saved. I know that you cant be 100% with diagnosing and I understand they were trying to save me money by not doing the expensive tests but it cost me my puppys life. My biggest complaint is that on the third visit after being told we were just going to be sent home with additional nausea medication and prescription dog food, I asked if something may be stuck in her stomach, the vet said she didnt think so but started pushing on the puppys stomach and found a hard object. If I had not spoken up, then I would have taken my dog home with no possibility to be saved. Instead I get to pay $1000 for them to do surgery and realize they waited too long.

I had a really good experience with Banfield Pet Hospital. I had had a really bad experience with another vet in town, and just wanted to make my puppy better. He had been suffering for 3 weeks from a scratched cornea/conjunctivas. He also got kennel cough from the previous vet I went to on our second visit. All of the staff I came into contact with was very nice. They were quite welcoming and so loving to my puppy. The vet tech was so sweet to my puppy. My puppy was so calm and even laid down on the ground (he was pacing and whining at the other vet) They took such good care of him. They even took the time to answer and un related question I had about pet food when I called up there week after my visit. I will be returning to Banfield in the future.

Please take your pet somewhere else. I was 5 minutes late due to Loop 288 traffic and they refused to see me when there was no one waiting on a dog. I asked if they had any dogs being treated in the back and she couldnt confirm that information. Also, while their plan may seem like a good deal, they will stop treating for and giving you certain vaccines because your dog is of a certain age or weight unless you pay them more money per month. (they would no longer help with heartworm unless I paid $15 more a month because my dog was over 5 pounds.)

We have four dogs that go to Banfield, and we almost always see the same Dr. Theyve been kind and caring when we had to put another dog down. Theyre easy to work with, are open to questions, and very sweet with the animals. You can tell they love the animals and their knowledge of procedures and treatments is a testament to their training. We have always saved money on their health plans, too. I would definitely recommend Banfield in Denton.

Vet and staff are very kind here. They took dog in and had him well taken care of. There was a slight mix up on his weight from his first visit to his second but it was the scales error. They even allowed me to exchange his heartworm medication for the higher weight free of charge. Great job guys, this is a good place to take your animals. The payment plans actually dont scam you either!

Worst vet Ive ever been to, rude and uncaring to my girlfriend over the phone when a shot gave our dog a dangerous allergic reaction, wont see our dog claiming aggression(convieniently when our appointment was close to closing time) note hes never had a single issue with aggression before, even at his 3 appointments at the animal hospital last week they had no problems with him.

This establishment does not care about your pets, they just care about making money. Incorrectly diagnosed my pet and loaded him up on unnecessary medicines. They dont waste any opportunity to push services, procedures, and medicines just in order to make a higher profit.
