We have used Springtown Veterinary Hospital for years. I have nothing negative to say and it may sound like favoritism (or bias, however you look at it) but Springtown Vet is the best place Ive ever taken my dogs to for their medical issues. I can understand some reviews stating that they are "sketchy" and pricey - lets all be honest here... we spend so much on ourselves every day but hardly much on our fur babies so its not really fair to say its costly. Besides, Springtown Veterinary Hospital is accredited with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) - if it wasnt for the pamphlets I saw, I wouldnt have known this. Only 15% of Veterinary practices hold these accreditation... and that is saying something. Also, most people are unaware of one thing... Springtown is actually a veterinary HOSPITAL... not a Clinic... which is probably why its a bit on the pricey side, but it is fair... They give you a quote before you decide, they give you the best of the best, but if you cant afford much, tell them (how else would they know unless you communicate?)... theyll find alternatives - nothing sketchy about that. For instance, during my visit today, rather than spend a lot more than I can possibly afford overall - for a special dog food (both wet and dry) - I told them, they didnt take it personal and understood... So, what did they do? Gave an alternative... offer my pooch regular white rice and boneless boiled chicken (without any spices, etc.)... nothing sketchy there. I had to bring in my pooch today because of some issues relating to bloody poop (and his annual check up) - probably my fault for giving him a big bone (which by the way I learned from them, is a no-no) and I plan to take my dog hiking so he needs his shots updated so they gave me a bit of education and a run down on the prices (and negotiating a cheaper option) :) I have not been disappointed with Springtown Veterinary Hospital. The staffs go above and beyond, the Veterinarians are great and extremely knowledgeable - even going out of their way to make sure a deaf guy like me understood everything thats going on. They make it a point to have your babies part of their family so you can call them part of yours.

DISAPPOINTING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND STEEP PRICES. I am very disappointed in Springtown Vet, and am actually switching to Kings Highway Animal Clinic, whose prices are MUCH MORE reasonable. I know all vets are expensive, however, the prices at Springtown are outrageous. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET unless you want to get ripped off. I just moved here from a high income neighborhood in Dallas, and the vets there were LESS EXPENSIVE. At Springtown, yes, the doctors and staff are nice, but they never called me when I dropped my dog off for bathing. I thought they were still working on him, and assumed THEY would call ME, but they never did. It really irks me that they charge a lot extra to apply medications while the dogs are boarded. No one ever did that in Dallas. My dog needs a CBC blood test every month, and Kings Highway charges $25 while Springtown charges around $50 or $60! The exam fee is almost $80, while at Kings its only $42.70. I wanted to board my two cats over the holidays, and they wanted a deposit of $393, which was only HALF of the full price!!!! Just to watch two cats! My dog needs a dental cleaning, and theyre charging almost $500, while Kings Highway is charging almost $300 less! Springtown Vet simply does not have great customer service, and their prices are unbelievable. CHANGE VETS!

I really wish I could give them more stars. The people at the front were very nice to my dog and me, but the actual visit was weird. I was just bringing my dog in for a routine check up and booster shots. The nurse tallied up how much it would cost and hit us with a bill of around $420. The vet we visit when were in Houston charged us $128 last time. Somehow this vet was three times as expensive. The examination room was fine, albeit a bit bare. The doctor was fine, but the nurse was kind of gruff with us. When it was time for his testing and shots, they took him to a back room (leaving us in the examination room). Our dog was pretty unhappy and scared when he got back. Ive had dogs all my life, and Ive never ever seen a vet take my dog away for vaccines. Sketchy. A lot of the $420 bill came from an expensive heart worm and flea preventative medication. After talking to them about it, we found out that they had a different heart worm and flea preventative medication for almost half the price. Again, sketchy. Overall, Ill go back if I have a real emergency. If it can wait, Id rather drive down to Houston to see our other vet.

We needed a USDA-APHIS certified vet to give our dogs an exam and fill out paperwork in order to travel with them out of the country. I called a few clinics and was relieved when I finally came across one who was properly certified. I became immediately disappointed when the receptionist told me it would cost $390 PER dog to have the forms filled out justifying the cost by saying it is "a lot of work." Thankfully I continued to call around and found another certified vet that would do the exam and fill out the forms for $80 per dog. The "a lot of work" involved in filling out the forms took less than 10 minutes. After full rounds of vaccines, physical exams, deworming and completed documents for two dogs with excellent customer service, our total at the other clinic was just over $400, about the cost of one FORM from this place. This clinic is running a racket; please save your money and take your business elsewhere.

Very pricy and very rude. The young vet tech girl who worked with me was very sweet and understanding, but the actual vet that came in was very condescending and rude. I am a college student who cannot afford a $50 ear cleaning, $50 AIDS test, $60 antibiotic, $80 pain medication, and the $52 charge for them to simply see us, all in one day. Every time I opted for the cheaper solution she was very rude and continuously made me feel very guilty for not being able to afford the high dollar care. I will not be returning because of the way she treated me and because of the steep prices.

I have been a client at Springtown Veterinary clinic since their beginning, and could not ever hope for a more caring environment for my pets and for my familys peace of mind. We have gone through numerous emergencies and have always been treated with the utmost caring attitude by ALL of the staff. The veterinarians are VERY knowledgeable and the whole staff is always very friendly and considerate. Yes they are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and they offer the BEST of care for your pets.

Best animal care anywhere! I have been bringing my pets to Springtown for over 24 years and have had nothing but excellent care. The staff is so friendly and caring and the doctors are amazing. They treat every animal as if it were their favorite! They have gone above and beyond in dealing with pet emergencies--even taking my sick bunny and kitty home with them for overnight care! I totally trust them to keep my dog and cats and bunnies healthy and happy!
