I had my finger stepped on while diving back to first base, it immediately swelled up and hurt a lot. I continued to play and was able to manage the pain with ibuprofen, but after a month the swelling would not go down and i was tired of taking ibuprofen every day. I went to patient first, told them that no matter what I did the swelling wouldnt go down and the pain wouldnt go away. (At this point I was still taping my fingers together just to be able to throw the ball.) They took an x-ray, and when the doctor read it he said there was a small line but that it was probably a calcification from an old injury and the pain and swelling would go away on their own. At this point I told him that I had never injured my finger before. He completely ignored me and said that the radiologist would read it and call if they saw something different. The radiologist didnt say anything different from what the doctor said. About two weeks later my finger was still just as large and still had the same amount of pain. My father decided that we needed to see the sports doctor that I normally saw for softball related injuries. We figured just because it was a small finger injury that patient first could handle it. The sports doctor had me get another x-ray and immediately said that the line that patient first had called a calcification from an old injury was in fact a fracture of the bone. Not only that but because where the finger was stepped on, and how it was stepped on that a ligament had been torn. Lesson learned, skip patient first and go to a real doctor. I spent 2 months in hand therapy just to be abel to bend it normally. (Something else I forgot to mention, I could barley move the finger. I also showed this to patient first.)

I am dissatisfied with the service my mother received at Patient First this Fathers Day Sunday (June 21, 2015). I took her to Patient First due to urinary problems she was having all morning. After a nurse took her vitals, she was led to the back and told to try and use the bathroom for laboratory analysis. But she was unable to go, which was the reason we came to Patient First. The nurse told her that he would provide her with some water to try and help her go, which she did not receive. A different nurse lead me to the back, as my mom requested, which is when I began to see what was happening first-hand. As my mother clutched her stomach from abdominal pain, the nurse reassured her that a doctor was coming to see her. After sitting and noticing that patients that came in after her were getting attention, I decided to speak up and ask when a doctor was coming to see her. It was then that a different nurse told me that she would need to go to another facility to be treated. I would not be writing this negative review if that information was brought to our attention when my mother was first brought to the back, instead of having her to sit in pain for over an hour, waiting for a medical professional to see her. This will be the last time I take a loved one to a Patient First medical center. I ended taking her to the Bon Secours in Harbor View that provided her with quick and quality attention, and have a staff that is ready to treat any case, minor to severe.

I visited Patient First on 9/27/15. The registration was done quickly, and I was called into the back with 10 minutes of arriving. The visit went south from there. The nurse took my vitals and asked me to provide a urine sample. Afterwards I was placed into a room at 12:50 p.m. At 1:45 p.m. I had not seen a doctor nor had a nurse returned to check on me. I stopped the nurse at that time and asked how much longer it would be and she stated that I was next. At 2:30 I was still in the room and no one had come in to see me. I decided to leave. When I left I asked for my copay and they stated that they would refund it Monday because they had already closed out that station. By the time I returned home I received a call stating that nothing was seen in my sample and that I should follow up with my doctor if I was still in pain. Today 10/13/2015 I realized that my copay had not been refunded and when I inquired about it they said it was because they had completed a urine sample. Funny how that was not completed until I left and that information was never given to me while I was there. The place was practically empty while I was there and there appeared to be nothing going on except Nurses calling home to check on their children. I was disappointed in the service, but thought that they were having a bad day. Now that I see that they are also deceptive in their practices me nor my family will ever return. This place is HORRIBLE!

Incredibly friendly staff! I received great care at this location. I saw Dr. Leite for a walk-in physical. I came in around 9am and I was finished by 1030am. I received all results that day with the exception of the Lipid panel which takes a couple of days. I needed a form to be filled out for a Biometric Screening for a health incentive program through my employer and told them I would need it back in two days, if possible. I received my Cholesterol results the next day! The entire staff was so helpful and friendly. The physician answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable. The nurse I spoke to who let me know my form was ready was extremely polite as well and made sure I didnt have any questions about any of my lab results. Also, the lab person who drew my blood the day I was seen was excellent. I recently had blood drawn and it took the person 6 sticks to get it and this nice man at Patient First got it on the first try. He said my veins are just harder to find because they arent as visible and they are a little deeper below the surface. He clearly was experienced at what he does. Overall my visit to this office was very positive! I came in needing something in just a couple of days before a deadline and they were more than helpful with making sure I received what I needed. Great, friendly and knowledgeable staff at this location. Highly recommend!

I was ill with difficulty breathing, coughing and sinus issues. As I was being registered to be seen I was told that I had a bill from 1993 for $83 and although I currently have insurance and ability to pay the $10 co-pay I was told by the patient rep and the nurse in charge that they could not see me unless I could pay the $83 that I owed from over 12 years ago! It was suggested that I go to the Obici ER (where my copay would be $150). I could not believe that I was turned away when I have health insurance and the ability to pay my $10 copay just because I owed a bill from over 12 years ago when I did not have an abiility to pay. That evening, I did not have $83 an extra in my pocket. This is why healthcare in this country should be reformed. I was sick, I was not even offered the option of making any kind of arrangement on the old bill that they have obviously written off already. I was just denied treatment. My conditioned worsened and I ended up being out of work 5 days! Patient First should change the name to Payment First they do not put patients first.
