I owe a huge Thank You to Dr Waknitz and the entire staff at Olympic Vetinary Clinic. A little over a week ago, my Rottweiler mix, Zoey, started acting really strange. She was stumbling and running into things and falling over. I thought for sure she had a stroke but she is only 5 and half years old. At first I took her to another clinic simply because it was closer to my house, and was given a not so good outlook. I am going to keep this professional and not mention the name of the other vet I took her to, but basically I was told I would have to take her 2 and half hours away for an expensive MRI or I should put her down, because they believe she would not recover. But instead, I picked her from that vet and brought her to Olympic. Boy am I glad I did that. It is obvious from the very first moment that Dr Waknitz and the entire staff have a passion for animals, and their only goal is to get them better. Immediately I felt like there was hope after all. He did a few simple tests and suggested she stay a couple days and see how things go. I think it was the next day, he called me and told me he suspected Canine Vestibular Diesease. I had never heard of it, but since then, I have done some research and educated myself a little more on it. So after 2 nights there, she was showing some improvement, I picked her up and brought her home. I picked her up on a Thursday and boy it was kind of a rough weekend, but I had faith. On Sunday night, I stepped outside for a few minutes and then when I came back in, to my surprise, she was up and walking around. I was blown away. Its been a little over a week now, she is improving more and more every day. I am so very thankful that Dr Waknitz and the team at Olympic cared enough to be willing to try something. The other place told me they didnt want to throw medicine at something when they didnt know what they were treating. In summary, I think it is 100% safe to say, I now have a regular Vet that I will take Zoey to. I will not take her anywhere else, not after this experience. I owe a huge debt of graditude to everyone at Olympic Vetinary Clinic. Thanks for caring about animals the way you do. I will be recommending Olympic to friends and family, in fact, right before sitting down to write this, my neighbor just asked me how Zoey was, I told him and I told him about my experience...he said he will be visiting Olympic next time his little Jack Russel named Max needs to go in for a checkup or anything else. Thank You Olympic Vetinary Clinic. :-)

I have visited several vet clinics in the Port Angeles area, but Olympic Vet is someplace special. First of all, they understand that your beloved pet is your baby, and treat each and every critter who come through the door like a VIP. They are always available for regular maintenance visits and check-ups, and picking meds like flea control is so convenient, just a simple in and out. Even more importantly, when your pet is sick or something is wrong, they understand your anxiety completely and go out of their way to make you feel at ease. They are all pet owners too, they understand what its like when your precious baby is sick! Another thing that I really like about them is that they are able to make sure you know all about the ongoing care options that are available, such as nutritional supplements or teeth cleaning, but they do it without giving a hard sell. Ive been to other vets who make you feel guilty for not using each and every extra service they offer. Olympic Vet does not do that. They explain whats available, and then totally leave it up to you. I really appreciate that. Also, they are not drug pushers like other clinics Ive visited, and are great at helping explore nutritional and lifestyle adjustments for better health. I have an itchy little dog, and our previous vet just gave him a shot of prednisone every so often, and I hated it because its such a strong drug with side effects. Olympic Vet got him off the shot, and helped me figure out how to alleviate his itching with nutrition changes and dietary supplements. They also have the training and capability to do a number of specialized procedures, and are adding to their scope of practice with new training and equipment all the time. Their clinic also stocks an impressive array of products, like specialty foods, dental care items, skin care, and just about anything else you can think of. The office is immaculate, and the examination rooms are spotless. I am so glad that I have such a wonderful, caring place for my pets. Highly recommend!

I just moved to Port Angeles a little over three months ago and I was looking for a new vet for my two labs; they needed rabies shots. I decided to take them to OVC because of the great reviews it got online. I made a great choice! --Office was clean --Courteous staff --The vet (Dr. Torres) was very knowledgeable, explained everything in detail, answered all of my questions, and didnt try to push anything on me --Both of my dogs got a free exam, as promised --My labs, while not fans of going to the vet, stayed mostly calm; I attribute part of that to Dr. Torres and her assistant, Lindseys, bedside manner The only bad part about the whole experience was the wait time. My appointment lasted almost an hour and most of that time was spent waiting. However, I do not know how bust they were at the time. I would highly recommend this vet.

Top quality and excellent service! This clinic is the only place I will ever take my animals. The vet techs are extremely educated and helpful. The veterinarian is very gentle and loving. Every time I bring my dogs in, we are greeted with a friendly smile and each of my animals individual needs are accommodated. Each of my pets first visits were free, which saved me quite a bit of money with five animals! Definitely the best price for pet meds as well, and if you cannot afford meds or treatment at the time, they will help you to get Care Credit if you qualify. I highly recommend Olympic Veterinary Clinic to my friends and family and to anyone who truly loves their pet and wants the best veterinary care for them :)

We have taken our animals to this clinic for over 25 years. They have known and cared for our pets (and us) from the time we brought them home. They are thorough without being extreme unless the situation calls for immediacy and always help us put the animals needs first. We love Dwight and his staff. They truly care about our pets and take the time to let us know they care about us as well, we feel like they are part of the family. We always have and will continue to take our pets to this clinic and without hesitation highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent and compassionate care. The Hixson Herd

We are not frequent vet visitors...(it has been 6 years since stepping foot into a clinic) But my fur baby would whimper when we barely touched her ear and she would cry if she shook her head or yawned. I knew it was an ear issue and Olympic Veterinary Clinic got me in the same day I called. The appointment only took one hour from parking to leaving. Dr. Waknitz was thorough, kind, patient and made us feel welcomed from the beginning. Extremely clean clinic and if we ever are in need of animal services again, we wont go anywhere else. Highly recommend!
