I have been bringing my 3 dogs and 2 cats to Fairmount Animal Hospital for about 3 years now. On our very first visit, we saw Dr. Lee with our new dog that we had just adopted. Dr. Lee was very pleasant and we were thoroughly pleased. On our second visit, we saw Dr. Guest. Well, words cant say how amazing we think she is. She has a superb personality and interacts amazingly with all of our fur-babies, so we decided from then on that we would schedule all of our future appointments with her. Having 5 animals, I see her frequently. I love to hear her stories about her own 2 dogs that she loves more than life itself and her sisters cat. She clearly has a passion for animals and I always know that she takes care of my animals the same as she cares for her own. She is extremely knowledgeable and always advises you of all of your options and makes recommendations, but lets you make your own decisions, and isnt pushy. She is also always quick to return a call and give you advice over the phone, rather than making an unnecessary visit to the office. When we had to make the hard decision to euthanize our precious dog Beauty, Dr. Guest was not working that day. The doctor that we saw (I cannot remember her name...but we love her too) was amazing. She was everything we needed that day. When Dr. Guest realized the next day that we had been in the day before, she called me and said her condolences. She also had taken the time to review the files and x-rays and assured us that we had made the right decision. That really meant a lot to us in that hard time. I have always been able to bring my animals right in for emergency visits (as long as they are open) and they will take you right in. I have seen several of the other doctors during emergency visits, and I have always received excellent care from all of them. Lets not forget the rest of the amazing staff! In coming here for 3+ years, I recognize almost every staff member...receptionists, assistants, technicians. I believe most of these folks have worked there for longer than the 3 years I have been around, which is a comforting feeling. Every interaction I have had with the receptionists has always been 100% perfect...always pleasant, always knowledgeable, always accommodating! The same can be said for the veterinary assistants. While they are in the exam room assisting the doctor, they are always spending the whole time giving my fur-babies lots of lovin...so when they have to take them into the back for a blood draw or nail trim, I know theyre receiving the same respectful, polite, gentle care. To comment on a few other things...I dont think their prices are high (as other comments have suggested). I believe the prices are right in line with other top-of-the-line animal hospital veterinarian clinics in the area. I do agree with other commenters and think the appointments take longer than other clinics Ive been to, but I always leave knowing my pet has received an absolutely thorough examination and all of my questions have been answered. This is one of the reasons I love coming here. The appointments almost always run right on time and we rarely have to wait...but when we do have to wait, its nice that you can help yourself to their complimentary bottled water and coffee (my husbands favorite part). Dr. Guest and staff-Thank you for all that you do. We truly appreciate it!

Fairmount Animal Hospital (FAH) sets the standard...a very high bar... for excellence! Look no further; theyre the best! Why? Professional excellence at every level of service. Fairly priced. Compassionate and caring. Offers all services: vet care, boarding, food/meds, and an after-hours emergency clinic. Everyone at FAH (vets, techs, assistants, staff, etc.) is superb. My testimonial: In relocating from Syracuse to Hawaii, my border collie, Mya, had to be run through a complex gamut of tests, vaccines, treatments, micro-chipping, and overwhelming paperwork. All this was overlain by a 120-day waiting period (home quarantine), done in accordance with strict protocols, in order to enter the State of Hawaii (a rabies-free state). Dr. Bailey and her assistant, JoLynn, were unfazed, engaging this challenge with tenaciously superb attention-to-detail. What heroes! They filled forms, provided comprehensive health documents with original signatures, sent multiple blood draws to Kansas State University (with results reported to the Hawaii Animal Quarantine Office), knew when (and when NOT) to vaccinate or treat, provided letters advising on Myas health challenges, etc., etc! A fine example is Hawaiis requisite Animal Health Certificate, which is comprehensive in nature, requires specific and detailed data, and carries a time-limited authorization; its only good for 10-days, so animal shipment must occur within that time window. The result? It all got done, and done correctly! (While I had gone ahead to Hawaii.) My goodness...what a team! Just one more offering: Myas endorsement. My border collie, Mya, has immune-mediated polyarthropathy (arthritis caused by a compromised immune system), so she cant receive some vaccines. Therefore, she boarded at FAH often and came to know people there well. Shes normally a very quiet dog, but Mya knew the way to FAH and would bark excitedly, with joy, when I would make the turn for the vet. Shes an extrovert and has friends there that she loves! And they love Mya! Its not an exaggeration to say FAH vets saved Myas life...a couple times. Myas smart, and she knows. So there it is. My opinion? On this side of Heaven, you wont find a better place for pets than FAH! As I write this from Honolulu, Im still looking for a job, but thankfully my border collie, Mya, is keeping me company!! Thank you, Dr. Bailey, JoLynn, and everyone else at FAH. Youre the BEST!

Before I provide my review, I want to make a few comments with respect to the negative review that I just read. The comment by one client, “If you want one vet to see your pets, this is not the place” is false. I only use 1 vet, and have never been asked to see another vet. It is true that there are a lot of vets, and the great thing about that is they can collaborate to find solutions for tough problems or rare health issues. This is truly a GREAT animal hospital! Everyone from the Client Care Reps to the Doctors are wonderful to work with. Not only are they helpful, but they always have a smile and make your pet feel special. Debbie, the Hospital Administrator, left me a voice mail to inform me that my food order was in, but also suggested that I contact the food company for coupons. I was unaware that food companies sent coupons, and since I go through approximately 40 pounds of food a month, that was very helpful! The Client Care Reps are friendly, efficient, and go out of their way to provide excellent service. Every Technician and Assistant has made me feel confident that my 165lb dog is in good hands. Dr. Sarah Guest is the doctor that I use, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She takes her time during the office visit and answers all of my questions (and I always come in with a list of them!). I try to marry the allopathic and holistic approach when it comes to my dog’s healthcare program, and Dr. Guest is very accommodating. I frequently leave her voice mails or messages via the Pet Portal and she always responds back promptly. Due to various issues, my dog is there several times a year and sometimes 3 times in any given month. I have since moved to NJ, but still keep Dr. Guest as my vet, and only use a Jersey vet in case of an emergency. That is a testament to my confidence in Dr. Guest and Fairmount Animal Hospital.
