When our local vet retired, we were heartbroken. Our family had been clients of Dr. Wallace for 3 generations. When Dr. Dan Caldwell opened St. Clair Animal Clinic in the same building, I was a bit apprehensive booking my cats first appointment. I was so impressed with the quality of care that I had to write a review. I was pleasantly surprised to see the same sweet faces smiling at me from behind the desk when I opened the door. The clinic was clean, calm, and warm. I felt at ease immediately. When our turn came to see Dr. Caldwell, our little sick one, walked out of her carrier and snuggled right up to him on the table. He was very pleasant. He took the time to get to know our family and the issues for which we had made our appointment. He allowed us to make the decisions on the checkup, treatment, and vitals being done in our presence or in the back. He kept us informed of everything that was being done and the reason for every test. He allowed us to see firsthand through his microscope and computer what he was seeing and the reason for his diagnoses. He helped us in making an informed plan of treatment and clearly laid out every option we had available. He also made follow up calls himself to check on our little one in the days following our visit. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Caldwell and St. Clair Animal Clinic for your pets care and needs. In addition to our first visit with the St Clair Animal Clinic, we have now used this Dr. Caldwell multiple times and had the same experience each visit. In an emergency situation with a friends cat who was in transit to a vet, I was able to call and speak directly to Dr. Caldwell to get advice in measures that we could do immediately to stabilize her little one until we arrived at the closest vet. We were directed to their sister branch, Branchville Animal Hospital, where they took her immediately to see Dr. Bean. We had the same pleasant experience in their company and care. Dr. Bean acted quickly and gave us some feedback to ease our hearts as soon as she was stable, another Dr. that I would also highly recommend. However, the referral was quickly given to us by Dr. Caldwell as he had only the best interest for our loved one in mind. The referral was a life saving and very pleasant experience in Crisis. My niece will continue in using the referral to Dr. Bean in the future as it is closer to her residence. This visit was also followed with a call from Dr. Caldwell to Branchville Animal Hospital and myself to check on our little one. I am very thankful to both Branches and their staff for acting swiftly and lovingly for the well being of our little baby! Thank you!

I brought my 10 year old schnoodle to the clinic after the night before having her at the emergency clinic. The emergency clinic ran blood work and diagnosed her with inner ear problems which caused her to have a head tilt and she could not stand up. I followed up with Dr.Caldwell from St. Clair hospital and he found that her kidneys were in second degree failure. If Dr. Caldwell had not found that she would be in greater danger of renal failure. Dr. Caldwell and all of his staff is very professional and make you feel comfortable and in excellent hands. Dr. Caldwell actually sits down with you to explain everything thats going on with your pet and makes you feel as though you are talking to a friend. They have your pets interest at heart as if they belonged to him. Hes compassionate and caring for you and your pet. The staff will go out of their way to help however they can. Even though I was bringing my pet in for tests he made me feel relaxed. I will continue to use them for all of my pets. Thank you St. Clair animal hospital and Dr. Caldwell. Sincerely, Donna LaRussa
