Update: I previously gave Az Ave animal clinic 5 stars but since my review have lost 3 animals due to their poor judgement in diagnostics. For example....we came home to our cat had been attacked by the new dog my boyfriend had adopted from mcac. We had had her for 2 months with no problems with any of the animals so it was very unexpected of her. So I called the vets and asked to bring him (the cat) in because he was bleeding from a couple spots on his leg and appeared to be in OBVIOUS distress.... Id almost go as far as saying he was in shock because his pupils were dialated and he was panting and not moving. So I get on the phone with the vets office and tell them my emergency going on and the couldnt get us in for almost 5 hours! When the time came to see the vet Dr. Mike made no suggestions such as ultrasound or x-ray to rule out any internal injuries since the cat did nothing but lie there. He only offered to clean the visible wounds. I dont remeber exactly if he gave pain meds or not but he did give the cat a shot for pain. He gave the cat a good outlook and said he should be fine. Well 2 days later he DIED! Upon inspecting that cat closely there was terrible bruising all along his tummy! I called the vet to inform him and asked he returned all of what he had charged us. Reason being malpractice & poor judgement... He absolutely REFUSED to offer a refund. After several phone calls and several words exchanged he only offered half of what we spent via vet credit! Really???! I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at this vet over the years and he couldnt offer a refund??? This is not the only incident I have experienced with these vets.... Their vet Dr. Christina also offers false hope and would rather make you pay for a pricey ($2000-3000)surgery and put your pet thru immeasurable amounts of pain before doing a simple biopsy for cancer. My cat SUFFERED! She was my best friend and I had her since I was a child! I regret ever coming to these vets! Find somewhere else to bring your pets if you you really love them!

I highly recommend Arizona Avenue Clinic. I first went there in the 80s when Dr John had a small practice, and then his brother, Dr Mike, graduated from veterinary school, joined the practice and they built the facility they are in today. Dr John is now semi-retired, only doing surgeries, and Dr Mike is still there with grey hair and the same smile, along with other vets. Not only are they still as wonderful today as they were in the beginning, but they are more affordable than Vetco/Banfield (and another vet I went to for awhile because he is a friend of my dad), for visits vaccinations and grooming - It is actually cheaper to go to Az Animal Clinic for an annual visit than to just get shots at Vetco! And I cant say enough about how wonderful the vets, staff, and facility are. I have a Shitzu, and I highly recommend Carla at Az Animal Clinic for grooming. Even when shes not available, all the groomers have done a wonderful job. Good groomers are hard to find - I’ve had disasters at other places.

Dr Sarah is extremely kind and caring. They dont overcharge for tests and services. We recently had to make a very unfortunate choice in regards to our cats health. The staff was very kind and understanding. We were extremely emotional and were treated with great kindness. They were gentle with our beloved pet and I get the sense after going to this vet for a couple years that the staff genuinely cares for the animals they take care of. Tests can get expensive in general, they discussed multiple options with us trying to help. I didnt feel like they were out to get every cent from us like Ive seen at some other places. After dealing with a really awful situation, Im very grateful to have been working with this vet. I would be hard pressed to go to another clinic for my pets care.

Ive been taking my two cats to AZ Ave Animal Clinic for the past ~6 years. I was initially seeing Dr. Mike but have been exclusively seeing Dr. Christina for the last couple of years. Dr. Christina has been absolutely wonderful with my little girls, especially during her treatment of one of my kitties for reoccurring pancreatitis. Her patience, knowledge, and advice have gone a long way to ensure my sick kitty has received the best treatment available, which due to the particular illness meant me needing to visit the vet every 3 months or so. Both Dr. Christina and Dr. Mike have amazing bedside manner, are gentle and kind, and I was so sad to have to leave this clinic recently due to an out of state move. I would absolutely recommend this clinic to my friends and family.

One person ruined our experience, the manager named Marty or Mary or something like that. On the day that our pet passed away she was very insensitive, uncaring, rude, and talked down to my mother while she was greiving over the loss of our loving family pet. A person that works at a place like this should learn how to talk to people with respect and sensitivity. This is not the place for a grumpy person. It is really sad to say she not only made this already terrible day worse but took advantage of someones emotional state. Every other person in the clinic was helpful and considerate I have to say that they were even looking at her like she was crazy. Even though the other staff and vet were sympathetic, her coldness outwieghed the good.

The Doctors and staff are very friendly and courteous. Dr. Mike and Dr. Kristy did everything they could to help treat our sick cat. She did not get better unfortunately, and when the time came to put her down, the staff worked very hard to make us comfortable. Dr Mike even wrote us a sympathy card explaining his sorrow over her loss. Sadly our other cat who was perfectly healthy passed the next day due to loneliness and a broken heart. Dr. Mike again wen out of his way to send condolences on the loss of both cats. When I finally do get another cat I will gladly bring it back to this office. Thank you Dr Mike and Staff

Doggy Lover

Decent and clean place but the treatment to me by one of the doctor was rude. Just the way things were presented to me were in a very condescending tone. On the other hand my dog was treated fine and the front staff were helpful but I wish I was treated with more respect or decency. Just because youre a young doctor doesnt mean your better than anyone else. I may be overreacting since the service was good but its just one of my pet peeves when people act like there of a higher status than others. I will definitely ask for one of the other doctors if I go again.

This hospital to put a lot Madison maximal possible I wonder will over doses. We argue and she just scriming yelling and hung up the phone I try to talk with my doctor. She not allowe me to talk to my doctor about nexgard flea and tick 1 day before I put her aboard she put again on out her neck flea and tick 2 . I put her in hospital about her surgery eye When take her home she got hot pot so badly she didnt take care for her very well Before I feel safe now Im so worry
