Dr. Walker is a wonderful Vet. I took my terrier, Barkley there from the time they opened around 1997. He has a wonderful personality & the care we received was awesome. I also took my big chow mix, Mia there when we got her. For over a decade this was the ONLY place I would take my dogs & I loved the service. In the final years I noticed it was harder & harder to get Dr. Walker, there were new doctors & I never knew who I would get. When the time finally came for me to let go of my sweet Barkley, I was told they would give him a shot to relax him & then I could hold him as he passed away. I had talked with the office prior to this. They say they put an IV in his leg so I reminded them that Barkley did not like his feet touched & that he would be upset. The assured me it would be ok. As they tried to put the IV in Barkley of course flipped out... he was howling & whining the whole time. Within seconds they shot him with the full dose & he was gone! clinched into their arms, never letting me hold him or say goodbye. His last moments were in total fear & I will NEVER forgive them for the way they handled this. I can never get that moment back, I can never make this ok. Ive had nightmares of this last moment. I had Barkley for 15 years, he was my first "baby". Dr. Walker as usual was not there & the staff didnt even seem to care about the way the handled the whole thing. Of course I was upset so the just assumed it was the loss of my dog, never even seeing that they were horrible.

I love dogs... the first purchase I made when I moved to the Prescott area was an 11 week old boxer/blue heeler puppy. I never had a reason to worry about vets because partially I was lucky, but I did their vaccines myself, and she never needed to see a vet until she was 10 years old and when jumping off the bed, she landed on her back leg wrong, and I took her here. They took really good care of her, and even called me back the next day to check up on her. Again, although that was years ago, when I noticed back in Sept my other dog wasnt acting right, they got me in the next day, after an exam, we talked about options about testing, and prices before doing anything, and again, called to see how he was doing. Since then, Ive heard stories about other vets in the PV & Prescott area, doing tests and treatment w/o asking or explaining until its time to pay the bill, and every time I hear about something like that, I think about how lucky I am to have a vet right down the street from me that I can trust, with my pet, and my wallet. I even trust them so much that I know of two more dogs that are lucky enough to have Bradshaw as their vet, and more now know of a better option in this town. Im sure most think about vaccines, or injuries when it comes time to think about how much you trust your vet and the care they provide, but for me, I trusted them to put my dog to sleep with care, love, and respect.

I have been bringing my animals here for years. Dr. Walker is excellent and the new doctor; Dr. Ryan is wonderful and very compassionate. I know my animals are in good hands when either Dr. Walker or Dr. Ryan see them. The only draw back would be an emergency on a Sunday, but now there is an emergency clinic here in Prescott.

Thought my fur baby (Ivy) had a bad leg. It was bone cancer. They cry with you, hug you and when you ask for a Kleenex they give you a whole box. RIP my sweet IVY, mommas girls.❤
