Sadly I`m having to write a very negative review about Sun Surf and Dr. "Sam". (Dr. Shenouda, Sameh) Our beloved Beagle, (Snoopy) was showing signs of being very sick, swollen abdomen, and other problems. So I brought her in for an Exam. This was on Tue. 6/21. Dr Sam examined her, took x rays and a blood test. He said there was a "mass on the x ray". He said" things did not look good". He sent us home with antibiotics and pain pills, and told me he would get in touch with me the next day. By the end of Tues. (11:00pm) Snoopy was unable to walk on her own, so I brought her to emergency at "Cross roads Emergency", and saw Dr. Nous. He performed blood and x ray tests, but his x rays appeared much clearer in detail. He said her liver was very enlarged, but saw no tumors, he suspected maybe a cancer some where but was not sure. We got a stat blood test which showed a bad infection. So he prescribed numerous more antibiotics, and sent us home. He said he would be in contact with Dr. Sam immediately.This is now Wed. Am. I brought all Snoopys x rays and new meds to Sun Surf Wed. morning hoping to see Dr. Sam and get Snoopy in, but was told Dr. Sam was not there, they would contact him. We did`nt hear from Dr. Sam. By Wed night Snoopy was`nt drinking, eating or able to walk. Wed night, back to the Emergency hospital. Dr Nous this time admitted her. That was the last time we saw her. I never got a call from Dr. Sam. His receptionist called me Thurs. after Snoopy was gone. I cannot express the grief we have losing Snoopy, she was more than a pet. I must add that money was no object for us. Maybe nothing could have saved Snoopy, but maybe Dr. Sam should have admitted her, or at least given us a call.

Dr Sam showed great concern for me and my cat during a challenging situation of my cats paranoia of workmen and fear of moving. We had challenges to determine what was serious (blockage from eating items) needing surgery vs. fear and depression from move. Dr Sam showed great compassion to both Sasha (and his Mom) when the situation became more than frustrating with repeat occurrences. The staff at Sun Surf are very friendly and professional and the atmosphere is pleasant and clean. Their techs have gone beyond the call of duty to make my pet (and me) comfortable - in boarding (monitoring him) or with treatment/surgery. At a prior time Dr. Mary Belmore passed the treatment plan over to Dr. Sam for the best interest of Sasha (when he came for same eating/blockage issues on a weekend in July that she wasnt going to be available. I appreciated the team spirit and seamless treatment between the Drs.

Today I went back to Sun Surf Animal Hospital to have them cut my cats nails. I was able to do it myself but they are too big for me to do it alone and they jump around and sometimes I cut the quick part by accident and their poor litle claws bleed all over the place. Last time I went to SunSurf they told to bring them in and it would take just a few minutes which I did this morning. As usual the howling went on in the car but they quieted down after we arrived. Immediately and Technician and an assistant took them, talked to them and they were able to snip away the claws without my cats wailing.. It was such a relief for me and it was very reasonable. All the people who work there are so sweet and comforting. I will never cut my cats nails again now that I saw what a good job Sun Suft did. This is definitely the place to take your pets to.

This is a top-notch facility with friendly and caring staff and excellent vets. The facility is very new and has the latest equipment in upscale, warm surroundings. The staff sends reminder postcards and even magnets with your pets photo on to keep track of your pets shot needs. They offer many great services including on-site grooming, pet meds, and even boarding should your pet need a place to stay while you are on vacation (they get walked several times a day on the green belt behind the building). Excellent staff, great services, and a perfect place to take your pet for personalized attention!

I have been going to Sun Surf Vet. since i moved here from NY 5 yrs. ago. I had 3 pets, One has since has left us, I was such a wreck that day. Dr. Sam made me comfortable and helped me through the process. Dr. Belmore has been there so many times with my Frenchie and his unique issues. The girls at the front desk are great. Dr. Belmore is a very capable and caring veterinarian; explaining thoroughly what the problem is, protocol to follow, and answering all of ones concerns... My cat(rescue cat) and I were warmly received by staff and I immediately felt that this was the place for my dear cat for his vet needs and my peace of mind. Thank you. Thank you. Nowadays it is not easy and at times not pleasant to find such ""customer first"" facilities.

I have a small dog rescue and I have brought over 20 different dogs to this Veterinary Hospital!. I have tried several other well known veterinary hospital in Huntington Beach and the surrounding areas and found them to be over priced and not as accommodating as Sun Surf. I would not consider taking my dogs anywhere else. At least give them a try once and you will see for yourself what a great Hospital this is!

Dr Sam and his staff have taken care of 4 of our puppies including two we had to say goodbye to. He came to our Apt. & we were able to let our Samoyed go to sleep with his help and it was much better than taking him in to a hospital. Since then we take our Poodle mixes in for shots and everything else and have been very happy with how they treat us and the dogs.

I just started taking my new dog to this vet hospital and I love it. The staff are great, the doctors amazing and the facility spotless. The facility looks very new and it is obvious that they really keep it up. Beautiful exam rooms and more importantly the staff seems to really care about your pet. I have been really happy with everything.

They were quick but thorough when taking care of my dog. They also followed up with me after my visit to make sure my dog was on the mend. My old vet never bothered to follow up, if it didnt work then that was on you to bring your dog back in. Sun Surf Veterinary Hospital cares.

Sun Surf has been an absolute GOD SEND to my three medically high maintenance dogs!!! Dr. Belmore and her team are all very professional, loving, sensitive and knowledgeable. Their office follow up calls always make us feel that we are very cared for! Thankyou Sun Surf!!! woof!
