There are a couple of things people should be aware of before going to this practice. The first is that they keep the exit door near the check-out desk locked from the outside, meaning you cannot leave unless the office staff behind the desk push a button unlocking the door. So they basically lock you in until you pay and reschedule. This is an obvious safety issue and Im surprised their patients tolerate it. The second is that they are a Christian practice and apparently quite defensive about it. When I noticed the bible verse on the wall and another Christian wall hanging, I simply asked the check out staff if this was a faith based practice. I was told "I wouldnt say that, but the owner, Dr. Kasunic, is a very religious man." I said literally nothing else, did not indicate in any way I had a problem with this, I simply asked a question. Less than a week later, I received a letter from them stating "We understand you have a problem receiving medical care at a Christian facility" and stating they would no longer provide medical care for me. There are stories from other patients on review sites that have had similar experiences, with being denied care when they complained about anything or brought anything to the attention of the practice. I would not trust this practice with my own or my familys medical care.

Kristine Beck is wonderful, thorough and caring. I see her for my well women exams and bioidentical HRT. However, they never checked to see what lab was in my network (BCBS), nor did they tell me that I had a choice of where the labwork could be sent. There is no box to check when you are getting bloodwork done asking if you have a lab preference. One that they used a couple of years ago tried to bill me $1800 for bloodwork. No, thats not a typo. I refused to pay it and told them good luck. The phlebotomists work directly for True Health Diagnostics and UNLESS you specify otherwise (because nobody will ask), they will send your labs to True Health. The last lab cost me $200 b/c its not in BCBS network. When I called to ask if they could use my in network lab, they told me that all I had to do was tell the phlebotomist which lab I wanted. I explained very nicely that it would be very helpful to point this out to patients having blood work done so they dont get a surprise bill thats not covered by their insurance. Informing patients of the lab they use and letting them know it may not (probably wont be) be in their network should be SOP in my opinion.

Agreed, choose another doctors office. I had not heard of an office letting a patient go before this. I was sent a certified letter of dismissal, I presume because I stated I would not be paying them a copay to discuss my blood work results. They can just send me the results (I can read as well as they can) and I just needed my prescription refilled. If you call for an appointment and one is not available, you can come in and wait to be seen, but will cost you an addition $56. They do not allow you to talk to the doctor to ask a question, but the MA (who does not know the answers) will stand right next to the doc and get the answer, while you are on the phone??? Not able to diagnose anything out of the norm, strictly good for collecting copays and reading blood results. I do not have any confidence that if there is something wrong with you, that you will get even adequate medical attention. I have not been happy with this office for 7 years, and just kept returning due to convenience. They have pushed me to have to look for more competent care, it has to be out there!

I have been a patient there for roughly the whole 11 years that I have lived in Castle Rock. I put up with issue after issue of billing problems, and issues with prescriptions like was mentioned in an earlier review. When you have billing issues they give you the name of someone off site that is usually unaware of what is going on and not helpful. The office staff is always grumpy and rude. Even if they try to be nice, they look exhausted and miserable. The reason I did stay so long was because I really appreciated and almost exclusively saw their female nurse practitioners. Karen Sailors, who left for a job in the Navy I think she said, and her replacement Michelle Koenig. Recently Michelle Koenig left suddenly as well, and I saw her new replacement twice. She seemed nice enough, but I really appreciate someone consistent that knows me, so I left to try elsewhere. I really had the impression that is was not a great place to work, and thats why their doctor and nurse practitioner staff is always turning over. Ive seen so many leave the practice.

While everyone is entitled to a have a bad day, week or even month, Ive finally come to the conclusion that sometimes you just cant help people. Over the past 8+ years I have been a patient of Dr. Boeks. I find his bedside manner, knowledge and candor refreshing......HOWEVER, after years of subtle, direct comments and meetings about his front office staff, Ive had to FIRE HIM as my primary care provider. His staff is extremely rude, condescending and most recently confrontational with me regarding instructions Dr. Boeks gave me. The receptionist insisted that I was wrong and that Dr. Boeks would never tell a patient the wrong office hours...even though theyre posted on the wall. Needless to say and without boring you anymore, I will no longer bring my family to Castle Rock Family Physicians. My time and my families health deserve a bare minimum level of professionalism and after 8 years of care, Im leaving BECAUSE OF HIS STAFF. If you value your time and want to be treated with a minimum level of respect, find another Primary Care Physician.

Mr. Mills I agree. I have been a patient there for years. The Drs office just fired me as a patient because I complained to the office manager. Every single time I needed a perscription faxed to the pharmacy, they would either fax the wrong medication, fax to the wrong pharmacy, or not send anything at all. Through this last year I have had several billing problems with them. They often get patients mixed up with others with a similar name. Half of my phone bill was from calling the clinic to see why medicines weren't where they needed to be when they said they would be. These people don't care about the patients they only care about the money you give them. I would really think before you see any of the physicians at this facility. Kristine Beck is a PA. There and she is the only one who seems to actually care. Dr. Kasaunic owns the practice and if u call to ask him a question you will never actually talk to him. Think before becoming a patient here.

I have lived in Castle Rock for over 10 years and I can save you a lot of trouble (and perhaps your very life)-- do not go to this doctors office. They run the office horribly like a motor vehicles department-- I went to this office for about 2 years. I went in last week with chest pain and symptoms of a heart attack and they prescribed me an inhaler. The doctor told me "it is not your heart". Well on Monday I went to ER with a heart attack that had been going on for days. I ended up being saved at the ER in Castle Rock. After contacting them about the huge error they made that nearly cost me my life they "terminated me as a patient!" Trust me-- choose ANY other office to see a doctor. This is a warning.
