UPDATED: We have been going to Yorkshire for a few months now and have transferred our other dog over here as well. We moved to the Springs about ten months ago and immediately began looking for a great new vet to replace the one we had back in our home state. (We have two dogs and a cat, so an awesome vet is a bigger deal than our human doctors.) We tried another vet in town with our then 1-year-old dog and cat. I wont say who. They were OK, but I felt that they would nickel-and-dime us for every little thing. (A technician exam for a booster shot when the cat was just in for a full vet exam a month before? REALLY?) I was also annoyed that we saw a new vet literally every time we brought one of the animals in, and they sometimes seemed annoyed that we had questions. They also called my sweet, sweet Aussie a "drama queen" when they took her in the back to get a shot once, which really pissed me off. So when we got our new puppy, Nelson, we started shopping around. I called Westside Animal Hospital. They immediately put me on hold and then said they couldnt get Nelson in for a routine exam and shots for two weeks! Thats crazy, yall. So then we called Yorkshire, and they could get us in the next day. Everything from scheduling to being admitted to an exam room was seamless at Yorkshire. The office was bright and clean, and everyone was super friendly and sweet to my nervous 12-week-old puppy. We saw Dr. Scott, who was fantastic. He sat on the floor with Nelson facing us — Ive never seen a vet do that — and walked us through all the questions we had. He was very personable and frank with us about what Nelson needed and did not need. We got his shots, a fecal test, and Dr. Scott even removed a stitch from Nelsons neuter — no extra charge. The overall bill seemed pretty standard to me as far as what Ive been charged in the Springs and back in Missouri. The next day, which was a Saturday, Dr. Scott called us personally to give us the results of Nelsons test. Wow. Cut to bringing in our sometimes-nervous 1.5 year-old Aussie for her booster shoots. We saw Dr. Bundy this time, and he was BEYOND awesome. He took his time getting Luna to come to him and feel comfortable and started with "Tell me about Luna." He then proceeded to talk to me for a long time about what makes a good pet food and gave me some recommendations on a better one we could switch to. (Not even trying to sell the brand they have a the office.) When it was time for Luna to go back for her shots, she was terrified, and they couldnt have been sweeter with her. Overall, it was a wildly better experience than she had at our last vet in town. Suffice to say that I am over the moon about our new veterinary home at Yorkshire. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about these people.

I have brought my dog here for a few different things at this point (x-rays, minor surgery, ear infection, vaccination) and have been pretty impressed with the staff. Occasionally the front desk staff aren’t sure what is going on if you have an ongoing situation, but that is probably due to there being so many of them. Certainly not a bad thing--youre never on hold long. I have mostly seen Dr. Bundy, who is super knowledgeable and willing to talk to you about any questions/concerns/side-effects that you may want to discuss. I really appreciate his attention to detail and not glossing over anything. He doesn’t patronize or belittle in his explanations, and will go into as much detail as you would like about a given procedure or medication. He is really good about making a game plan and is considerate of time/spending limitations if that is an issue. I am a pretty high maintenance dog owner, and I have never felt silly or pressured at this practice. They respect my decision as an owner not to put my dog on topical pesticides and to do yearly wormings/heart worm testing instead, which is a nice change from most offices that really try to push the monthly pills. I have also not received any grief over feeding prepared (Darwin’s Natural Selections) raw food to my dog. Prices are generally inline or less than expected, particularly for larger procedures (surgery, OFA x-rays). The veterinarians seem to stay up-to-date on new technologies and medications, and can speak/advise intelligently even if it is not something that they offer. The waiting area is relatively large and with a circular entrance it is easy to avoid other dogs when coming or going.

I have not had to take my dog to the vet very often. I took him about three years ago and Dr. Scott was so amazing. He is so thoughtful and obviously loves dogs. I just had to take my dog to the vet again this week. He got into something and has an obstruction. I wasnt able to take him personally because of work so my niece took him for me. This time, my dogs vet was Dr. Walsh. Although I wasnt able to be there with my dog, the vet did get on the phone with me to let me know what was going on with my dog. I was a bit stressed out over treatment due to the financial aspect of it all. The vet was kind enough to tell me about different options regarding help with paying the cost of the treatments. She recommended that my dog stay the night so they could try to flush out the obstruction before having to resort to surgery. I called to see how he was doing this morning and Dr. Scott was with him ( I happen to really, really like Dr. Scott as my first choice for my dogs vet) and said that it seemed to be working well. I am very appreciative of the vet who recommended what treatments should be done. I am also grateful that Dr. Scott is the vet on duty with my pooch today. My mother has taken her dog to Yorkshire for years. We are both extremely happy with the quality of care the vets have provided for our dogs. The reception staff have always been so wonderful. They are gracious and kind. They go out of their way to answer questions and be helpful. I highly recommend Yorkshire.

I have taken my dog to Yorkshire on a recommendation of a coworker when I moved to town in 2009 and ever since. She told me "how smart" these vets were, and she was right! They are AAHA accredited which means they are held to a certain objective veterinary health standard which is reviewed regularly with site visits. They have treated my dog and myself with compassion during major problem times, and seen him through his regular needs with good humor. He is now 14 1/2 and I feel it is due to their co-vigilance (with me) about his health: teeth, vaccinations, medications, etc. I have been away from Colorado for work for a few months and really see the comparison from using other vets, so will be glad to get back to Yorkshire care. They dont try to up-sell services or pad their bill. They are super honest and your pets health is the main concern. The staff is super friendly, and accommodating at the desk, on the phone, & regarding appointments and questions. The facility is always clean and welcoming. I heartily recommend their services and staff if you are looking for a good solid reliable vet experience. Ive also been impressed by their assistance with greyhound rescue, and how they went out of their way to provide help for dogs in need during the recent fire evacuations in Colorado. They are first rate, well-trained, and will always have my gratitude for their care of my pup.
