I would give ZERO stars if this is at all possible. There is a department here for equipment repair and this is who I dealt with. The person I dealt with was someone by the name of "Eddy". This was in Denver, CO I have an EKG that is/was broken. I took it to HSS to see if it was going to be able to be fixed. I was told $500 to fix it (no warranty). For me, this isnt worth it. I get paid about $15 per EKG and I found a place in California called Cardiology for Less (google it) to sell me a refurbished one for $300 with a 6 month warranty, Also my repair by Discount Cardiology- $150 with a warranty. I inquired about a used machine there as I was told they had some in storage they were willing to sell to me. I inquired by asking "How much for a machine?". I was told by Eddy "What is it worth to you?". Again, I asked "How much for a machine?" I was told "There is a price to do business." I informed Eddy of what Discount Cardiology was willing to sell to me and was told something to the extent of "And are they going to be close up shop tomorrow?". Discount Cardiology has been in business for 30 years. I also let Eddy know I get $15 to do an EKG (this is what I get paid). I am not a doctor. I have also informed Discount Cardiology of what Eddy at HSS in Denver said. HSS charged me $50 to do a diagnose. Discount Cardiology the diagnostic is FREE. I would have to ship it from Denver to California to get it diagnosed. This would be the charge I would incur. You are right Eddy, there is a price to do business. This customer will NEVER, EVER step foot in your office again and I hope others read this review and take notice! BEWARE!!! RIP OFF!

Security Officer Review! Worked for HSS Inc. at John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek & Concord, CA site. I genuinely enjoyed working for John Muir through HSS Inc. as a Healthcare Security Officer, however unfortunately my employment there was cut short. Do not work for HSS Inc! The management doesn’t appreciate employees who are there to serve and cultivate meaningful relationships with the staff, patients and visitors. All they want is for you to overwork yourself with minimal pay, no raises regardless of years and experience and/or bonuses. I wrongfully terminated because prior to working at Mount Diablo, which is now John Muir Medical Center: Concord, I was told if I applied at the hospital I would be terminated. I thought how odd was that being that I received praises and compliments for my hospitable nature and dutiful service. I also witnessed others security colleges that were getting jobs in the hospital. So I figured I’d had a special opportunity to get my foot in the door. Nevertheless, My Supervisor Wasn’t Having That! I had a new supervisor and within two weeks it seemed like I was being targeted for seeking opportunities in the hospital. Prior to applying and following through with an interview with the hospital, I felt like my supervisor used my stomach flu as a reason to let terminate me. She claimed I abandoned my post. How ironic right! She turned around and used that as a reason to let me go. Beware of working for healthcare security companies like this that only look out for their greater gain, especially if your charm and personality (magnetism) overshadows their authority, and don’t let people be drawn to you.

My experience with HSS was really bad I got pushed into a site that is way to fare from my home and I am on a bus. HSS does not know what happens on the sites with Supervisors I fill that they should test the mental state of a new supervisor before letting them become one because if they are bipolar how does that work. The law states that in a 8 hr shift you get 2 brakes and one 30mint lunch will how is that some supervisors fill that they should not have to do anything if everyone is on a watch and the supervisor is free they should give lunches I have gone 8hrs with out a lunch or a brake before. The big hospital`s have the most problems if the supervisor does not care about the people under them then there is fighting in the work plays. I have seen supervisors talk bad about someone under them to the staff that work at the hospital that is really unprofessional now I see why HSS ends up with out that site. I was never trained for the job I was put in with out knowing anything I was told by everyone that works there different ways of doing the job which in the end was it wrong or right noting was the same from what everyone told me I still dont know everything how can you only pay me 8 hr for training when there was no training. Also if a supervisor is going to get mad at someone under them for something then they need everyone under them to fallow the same thing including them selfs.

The worst company I have worked for! Unskilled and unprofessional supervisors. You cant even understand the English most of them speak. They change rules as they feel like. If you dont mind the lazy and stinky gards around you, if its ok to eat lunch with break rooms filled with mice and insicts, guards bag all over you, then you will enjoy working for HSS at DIA. Most of the management hold GED and good luck understanding their instructions. Hr is a joke. Guards sleep on duty and curse you out in another language if you say something. Mostly bunch of undocumented immigrants. HSS says they only hire us citizens but I highly doubt it. Benefits is crazy their uniform is stupid. They make you pay out of your pay check for uniform, guard license and many more. Communication is mostly on radio and even the city has hard time understanding the gards even the supervisors. I am not sure why the city of Denver allows this coward company be at rhe airport!

My experience with HSS was great 3 yrs except a couple problem and them being the management. In the 3 yrs of being with the company I worked with 4 different supervisors. Management and my site went down hill when 2 of the supervisor quit to move else where and the next 2 supervisors should of never been in a leadership position in the first place. There was a high turn over rate at my site. The site supervisors hiring whoever, placing favoritism, picks and chooses who they want to write up and if you didnt kiss their ass they didnt care for you. I simply got terminated for not agreeing with the current supervisor decisions, I told that he was terrible at his job so he actively searched through video surveillance to get something on me to terminate me. HSS could be a better company in San Antonio, Texas if they would make changes to some of the site supervisors.

Horrible management, supervisors, pay, benefits! You name it, they dont have it! Not worth the pay for potentially fist fighting mentally disturbed people in a hospital. Dont take this job it you have a family! Worked for this job for 2 years, so glad when I left. Supervision doesnt listen to any ideas unless they come from headquarters, no matter how good they are. Be prepared to have your supervisor to be about 5 years younger than you and then tell you about all the life experience that they have. It seems like the dumber you are, the faster you get promoted. If you have common sense, avoid HSS, or youll find yourself using your common sense to try to explain to your supervisor why their company has trouble keeping security officers longer than 3 months and them still not understanding!!
