DISTURBING USE OF FORCE at FOR PAWS VETERINARY CLINIC and Extreme Physical Restraint applied to my WELL TRAINED Petite Dog!!! Upon entering said clinic, (my eye brows raised at the tacky & dated décor) after a brief check-in we were taken into the examination room. Examination room? It had a little hard bench with a worn out pad, dull old dirty floors and the supposed exam counter (OMG) it was a bathroom cabinet with a cold TINY piece of granite placed on top (approx. 1.5 ft. across and MAYBE 2 ft. in length. NOTHING about this room remotely resembled an examination room; there was nothing medical about this room other than a stethoscope hanging on the wall. Then two techs entered the room, a quick chat ensued and then one of the techs sat on the dirty floor (because there was no place for them to actually work) the tech then wrapped her arms TIGHTLY AND FORCEFULLY AROUND MY DOGS PETITE BODY, RESTAINING HER TO THE POINT OF EXTREME DURESS WHEREAS A STRUGGLE ENSUED. (They were attempting to take my dogs temperature) I said to the tech, you dont need to hold her like that. But the tech did not release her TIGHT GRASP on my little dog’s body so I repeated myself but in a more assertive tone: Dont hold her like that. Once again the tech did not let go so I demanded she let go and I said LET HER GO! Long horrid story short: The tech exclaimed Were DONE!!! I said Im sorry if what I said to you upset you and she replied Dont You Ever Push Me Away! I was in shock!!! I never had any physical contact with her whatsoever. She then said WE RESTRAIN THE ANIMALS THAT COME IN HERE! The entire experience was overtly disturbing to me and especially to my dog, cruel even! As I sat in the exam room pondering what happened I decided to share the experience with the reception desk and within 5 minutes I was literally ASKED TO LEAVE by the office manager; what a foul experience that place was. So I drove over to CATERING 2 PETS and they told about the TENDER CARE VETERINARY CENTER (Just around the corner) they gave us a SAME DAY APPT and the Vet treated my dog like GOLD!!!!!!!! So Compassionate and Caring!!! Animals are to be cared for and nurtured not restrained and treated harshly... I am appalled that people like that would be allowed to even touch a pet!!!! Respectfully, Felicia P. On Behalf of my Dog Lou Lou

We had been taking our pets to this clinic for 3 years and had not had any issues. Our senior dog was called in for a simple rabies vaccination and checkup. The vet said she was the healthiest senior dog she had ever seen, mild cataracts and hearing was going, otherwise "extremely healthy". 48 hours after receiving the vaccination, our dog had a seizure and had to be put to sleep. It was done at another vet, since it was late on a weekend. We were told that there was a possibility that the vaccination had caused the seizure. We took the rest of the weekend to process the information given to us and I called to have a conversation with the vet. Unfortunately, this is where they lost our business! They let me speak to a vet technician, which was fine, but I told them I wanted to speak with the vet who had treated our dog. They told me she would call back ASAP. We got a card from the clinic, but no phone call from the vet. I called again, reminding them that we were not planning on taking any kind of action, we just wanted to have some questions answered. Mainly, we wanted to know why we were not told ahead of time that the rabies vaccination can cause problems in seniors and might not be necessary. Were not saying that we would have changed our minds about the vaccine, we are merely pointing out that it would have been nice to have the conversation, in order to make an informed decision. So, after three phone calls requesting to talk to the vet, we gave up. They called this week to remind us that our other dog needs a rabies vaccination. I informed her (very politely) that we were going to be taking him elsewhere, on account of what happened with our other pet. I was hung up on! Its a shame that I have to write this review, I wished things had gone differently!

I cant say THANK YOU enough to the Drs and assistants at For Paws! For over a year, my 3 yr old Aussie/Shepard mix has been battling unexplained seizures. Heartbreaking for me to watch and I felt absolutely helpless. Many visits to our previous vet and ER proved worthless with no meds or remedies to try and I kept being told "you just need to move on, sometimes we dont know why this happens." After moving to Falcon, I scheduled with For Paws for another opinion. And FINALLY, someone wanted to help my boy! I was advised to switch his food and other things to try after, and today, he is 2 months seizure free just by simply switching his food! Thank you For Paws for caring about my boy!

I really think this place rocks! I was going to petsmarts banfield for years and had a bad experience with the care my dog received and outrageous prices. For example my dog had a large benign cyst above one tooth which made his face look asymmetrical. Banfield was supposed to remove it totally after putting him under; instead, they told me he would have to be sent to another clinic for additional 350 to have it totally surgically removed. I transferred him here and they go above and beyond. He was neutered at For Paws and during the time he was under, they removed the cyst free of charge.

Dr Johnson took care of my old Lab for all of the 14 years I had him. In his last year, he was uncomfortable, but Dr Johnson was able to assist with laser treatments and medications that were appropriate for his condition. My dog had his extra year thanks to Dr Johnson and the For Paws team. Dr Johnson and her staff are incredibly warm, kind, conscientious, caring people who help the human owners as much as they help the pets brought to them. I would not go to any other small animal vet for my dogs care.

Will never take my animal there....had an appt was told email back papers just before appt time received call staying they never booked appt. Spoke with supervisor and was rude interrupted constantly and told me if I didnt like it I could go elsewhere. I will never trust them with the life of a cherished pet if I did my job that way would have been fired long ago....you have lucky staff to be so secure in their incompetence. But you lost my business

I love this place and wouldnt take my 3 terriers anywhere else. Dr. Johnson has treated them and a previous terrier who has since passed, but I credit her for saving his life and prolonging it for the better. I would easily recommend this place to anyone. While there are closer Vets near me, and I live near Powers and Constitution, this drive is only 10 minutes and well worth it. I do believe For Paws is a bit more reasonable as well.
