First off I would like to start this review by stating that NOT everything in this office is wrong I would like to make it clear that my kids pediatrician Dr Velasquez is an amazing doctor. My daughter has been seeing her since she was one year old and now my son is her patient as well She is extremely caring, she takes her time with my kids, she takes her time to answer all my questions and concerns I never leave the office with any questions. She always goes above and beyond to take great care of my kids. The office is always spotless, very clean and pleasant. As for her staff I wish I could say the same starting from the front office to the back office to the office manager they are all king of lost half of the time they do not know what they are doing. theres been a few times where has been a lot of confusion of procedures, how they are done when where and times. It seems like none of the staff in this office is ever on the same page and they dont document very well in these charts. I know documentation is crucial everything you speak to with a patient on the phone you have to translate into the chart and it looks like they never do that because they never know what Im talking about when I call and explain what somebody else told me. This can be very infuriating specially when it comes to the health of your children. I do have to say they are usually very nice girls it just seems they need better training and to stay constant.

I understand it is a busy place and low income/state insurance, but the quality of care is horrible. I have had a few incidents, where cavities werent charted, and were not going to be addressed. I had to bring it to the attention of the dental hygienist before she was going to apply sealants, charts were mixed and they were about to work on a cavity on a front tooth that was not there, my youngest daughter who is four was having a root canal worked on and they drilled to a point where she was in a lot of pain, instead of giving her a little more novocaine, they referred her out saying she needed sedation, they gave copies of an x-ray, that were not quite clear. I have three opinions performed on the youngest daughter and there is absolutely no need for sedation. If you have other options available, I would go elsewhere.

The Dr. is nice but dont really do much to help you diagnose your problem. I have gone to see more than twice complaining about horrible joint/bone pain and she refuses to send me for more studies, she keeps making up excuses to what she "believes" the pain may be radiating from but does not send me any studies to try and figure out the problem. And ms e receptionist and staff are totally disorganized, they were supposed to schedule me an Endocrinologist appoitments and they made a big mess and I am still waiting on that. Lets not talk about the doctor saying my abnormal thryoid test results was due to a "virus" after I specifically explained to her I had Graves Disease.

Was on a recovery plan for my illness for almost two years with this office. The doctor got tot he point where he told me to read a book on the topic that he heard was great and report to him what was suggested. The book was published in 1981! We tried all the methods and still nothing worked. Instead of admitting defeat on paper by sending me to a specialist the doctor just said, there really nothing more he can do! Terrible service! On hold over one hour! Wish you could upload photos to this and I would prrove it! Appointment at 10 and you dont see doctor till past 1! Rediculous excuse for a physicians office! Its probably a drug front!

I took my young daughter to Family Health Centers for severe pain in her throat. After careful and professional review it turned out she had strep throat. I couldnt believe that the doctor who I took her to first didnt see this - he only told me to give her throat lozenges! I wish all doctors were as thorough and cared as much as the staff did there. We will use Family Health as our only doctor now. Everyone should try them out!!!!!!!

I wouldnt give this place 1 star..went in today for an ear infection, and told me I couldnt be seen until I gave them 319.00 upfront. I dont have that kind of money and I left in tears. These people are the most uncompassionate Ive ever seen in my life. And its supposed to be lower income??? Dont waster your time at this place!

We had a great experience at Family Health Centers...we take our children regularly to our local office...they accept our insurance, easy in and out and we love the care our kids get with the docs and nurses they see...Thank you.
