I had gotten some tooth fllings done by dr Ushma Patel and it was done good but along with my fillings she gave me a permanent TMJ issues to my jaw joint by doing all 4 at once and opening my jaw too wide while doing the fillings. After the day of my fillings were done when the numbness worn out and the next day when I woke up I heard a clicking noise coming from my jaw I first noticed when I brushed my teeth and I got so scared. So I called the ushma Patel office to notify what is going on with me and they scheduled my appointment to see me and dr. Patel did the test and heard the noice with the stethoscope. Then I asked her why my jaw is making that noise so in reply she says oh may be you always had it just didnt noticed it until now. I was like really, common dr Patel I know it just happened by you I never had that until the day after the fillings were done. But do you think she will take responsibility of it, heck no. Infact she told me that her jaw also makes noise too like mine which to that my ear couldnt even believe that lie. I just didnt know what else to tell her. I started crying thinking this is my permanent problem so then she says no no it will be ok dont worry It is something just temporary and it will be ok. But it never did get better so after few weeks I tried to make appointment and they kept putting me off so I gave up and let GOD do the justice for her karma. This was done about 5 to 6 years ago and Im posting this review now because my jaw is in really bad condition because of her. If only she was careful and didnt do all 4 fillings at a time and didnt push my jaw down with such force, this would have never happened. And Im writing this because I dont want someone else to go through what Im going through right now. What worst is that if she caused me the injury atleast if she had told me to make sure get a treatment done for it otherwise it will get worse in future then my jaw would have been in better shape but she didnt even do that. I hope no one will have to face what I have from my experience with her. P.S. I do believe she didnt cause my jaw problem intentionally and drs are humans and can go wrong sometimes but the way she handled the situation and didnt take up the responsibility is what Im more hurt with. If she had just put me to the right path to not go through suffering of future nightmares of TMJ my jaw wouldnt have been where it is now.

I have known Dr. Patel for a relatively short time, but in that amount of time her and her office staff have impressed me in every respect. First, lets consider the surroundings. When you walk in, you immediately feel like you are at home - they have a wonderful coffee, tea, and snack bar. I have never had to wait more then 5 minutes before I was brought back to the exam room. The rooms are top of the line - they have TVs both in front of you as well as above you, and their equipment is cutting edge. Now I must say a few things about their people - every single employee of Dr. Patels is special and incredible in there own way. You do not meet a single zombie nurse who is just doing her job to pay the bills, you are being taken care of by loving, professional, sympathetic people who really listen. Each person there has there own special quirks and things they enjoy and you can engage them on any topic of discussion and you will find that they are SCARY smart! Now I have to talk about Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel thinks of so many different ways to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. If you are like me, and need nitrous oxide to help you stay comfortable, its free of charge and there is no hassle to get it. She is intelligent and does the little things that make her a truly extraordinary dentist. For instance before she gives you any shot, she will numb your gum up with anesthetic gel and then right before she puts the shot in she shakes your cheek so you dont feel it. Little things like that, when multiplied go along way. She can break down exactly whats going on with your teeth so even idiots like me can understand what is required of them. If you are more intelligent, she can really get into the finer points of whats going on with your teeth. She tries to be pro-active instead of Re-active which is a rare trait with Doctors these days. She is always in a good mood, and her pretty smile will put you at ease during your entire visit. I cannot recommend her practice highly enough - look at the review summary! The numbers dont lie! She is a great dentist and a good friend.

Worst doctor visit ever. After reading the reviews, I went there yesterday after taking half day off my work. I had to get my crown made since my current one is no good now. The staff was nice and cooperative - no qualms there...So, then the doctor comes in and after a customary check, she advised a new crown. Okay np so far...Then comes the price aspect of it...Prices she quoted were about 1.5 times to double of others in same town...Okay that made me think may be better material, higher warranty...Well no luck there too...."I can use Gold, platinum, ceramic, basic metal or anything would cost the same to you...and its my call - shouldnt be your concern" -- Really ? well okay...so does the tooth inside looks decayed...."I cant tell till I remove the current crown- it may be"And by then I would have paid half the price anyways....well thats convinient..And finally when I said I needed a minute she quips back..."Are u now going to do a cost comparison??". Well of-course I would, its my tooth, my money, and my mouth..I mean seriously what do you expect? As a customer dont you atleast deserve to know why you should pay twice the amount for a product/service than the one next door. A little down to earth attitude might have helped....May be too much to ask--- I am for sure not going back there again and not recommending to any one either. And by the way, I did find another facility in the same neighborhood for half the price, much better service, and a very decent down to earth doctor....

During the snow storm, one of my teeth became very sensitive to cold and I could not even brush my teeth and rinse with cold water. I called Dr. Patels office in a hope to see her when I get back from my business trip. Dr. Patel herself answered my call herself! She asked me a series of questions to determine the cause of the problem. She then scheduled an appointment even though her office was struggling to reschedule the appointments due to the snow storm. When I showed up Dr. Patel went over the symptoms again to be sure and took some photos to have a closer look at the problem area. She was absolutely fantastic with her diagnosis and treatment. She goes extra miles to make her patients feel absolutely comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and her wonderful staff. ~~~ Update: June 7, 2014 I was in for a regular check up and as usual Michelle did a wonderful job. Due to the little trouble with the same tooth I aforementioned, Dr. Patel suggested that the little crack should be fixed. Thankfully, she was able to squeeze me in that afternoon. The procedure was rather painless and quick. While its hard to believe the "painless" part, it truly was painless. Now all is well. Hooray! Also, its rather fantastic that Dr. Patels office opens on Fridays, which makes scheduling an appointment so much easier for me! I very much appreciate Dr. Patel and her staff listening to the customers!
