If I could give them 0 stars I would. They want to do 3 root canals on my 10 year olds baby teeth that will be falling out within the year. None of her teeth hurt her and she has no pain ever with them and no sensitivity to cold etc. We went in here with our 3 kids for their "special- $59 cleaning and exam". They pushed me to get X-rays when I clearly stated we DID NOT want any- having several different hygienists and dentists insist we needed them. They took us in for our 9 and 9:10 appts (first appts of the day) at 9:45 even though the assured me prior to the appt they would be able to get us out by 10:30 (I was teaching at my kids school at 10:45 and was 25 minutes late). They then pressured us into getting truly ridiculous dental work on baby teeth that are causing no pain or discomfort to our kids that will be falling our within the next 1-2 years. Our 5 year old they wanted to seal all his molars. Honestly, they brought up a treatment plan to the tune of 2585.00 for my 10 year old and 890.00 for my 8 year old. Our children eat no sugar, brush regularly and have NEVER had any issues or cavities at previous dental appts. Their paperwork is more vague and confusing than any dentist we have ever gone to. Would I ever go here again.....NO, absolutely not. Would I recommend them to anyone? NO! Our regular dentist Dr. Zizic in Libertyville, is wonderful, though her appts are hard to get, because she is so good. She is definitely the BEST! BEWARE of this place, they are very pretty and appear clean, but definitely not out to help you. It is clear money is their only means of motivation here. Who would ever suggest giving root canals to baby teeth, most of which do not have roots or whose roots dissolve when the adult teeth are coming in. In a day when we see on a regular basis in our medical practice, the damage root canals can do auto immune, cancer and chronic pain wise systemically in ones body...it makes me sick that someone who is not medically educated may be convinced to do one on their child. When someone cannot look you in the eyes when telling you your 10 year old needs 3 root canals...it is fairly obvious they are lying. I will admit she has 1 bad cavity, but no pain no issues and it is a loose baby tooth! I hope this helps someone out there. We are just sick over it! Word of mouth is THE BEST referral, I should have gone to our regular dentist, she is worth the wait and the money!

In terms of the service provided and work Ive had done I cant complain. The staff is nice to deal with when having dental work done and I have had no problems. However, they need to work on their business practices. Having insurance and being able to pay out of pocket for work that needs to get done but is not fully covered, every time Im there, before I can get out of the chair when everything I came in for is done, I always get a lot of pressured to schedule more work. With my job schedule being what it is, I just inform them that they will not be seeing me in 30 days and schedule an appointment for several months later. In mid December last year I got a notice that I had an upcoming appointment on 1/5/16. Being the first week after Christmas and New Years, I know I would not have scheduled an appointment for that week. So, I CALLED THE OFFICE AND FOUND OUT THEY DECIDED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME WITHOUT PERMISSION TO OR EVEN ASKING!!! THEY JUST DECIDED I NEEDED TO COME IN AGAIN. My best guess is their thinking is it is a new year and many insurances reset, and, it would have been about 2 months since I was last there and I would just assume that I forgot. FWIW, Im not even sure it is legal for them to do this, which opens up the possibility for a class action case if it is happening to other patients. I cancelled the appointment that they decided to setup for me and the one that I had scheduled for late Feb. Will be calling to get my records in the next few days and going somewhere else, the work that was scheduled for late Feb does still need to get done. I can deal with their high pressure sales tactics, but cannot have them deciding what my schedule is and when I am going to pay them more.

This place is VERY unprofessional. I should have picked it up the first time I called and they wanted to know if I planned on being a patient for a while before I could make a new patient appointment. While I continued on with making an appointment, I kept getting this gut feeling that it was going to end bad. After having someone call me three days in a row asking questions about my up coming appointment because I guess no one passed notes on to the others, and them wanting to do procedures that were NOT needed, knowing they werent going to be covered under my insurance, I still kept the appointment. I showed up 20 mins early to fill out paperwork, the only ones in the waiting room and 45 mins later, the receptionist was just sitting down to key in my Info. Not good first impression or a business that will get my time. There are plenty of other good dentist around this area who want your business.

We had a dental emergency this morning with my almost-five year old. A pediatric dentist was not available but Dr Nanavati took us on anyway. He preformed a tooth extraction on a mostly-brave but wailing 4 year old with a fractured front tooth. His professionalism was superb; his bedside manner with a young child, especially not being a pediatric dentist, was nothing short of heroic. He made what was a scary and painful situation as easy as possible. The dental assistant was helpful and awesome with my son, and even the front desk staff went above and beyond when dealing with our situation. I have extreme dentist-anxiety but after seeing the staff in action, I made an appointment for an exam and cleaning for me (after a long eight years, eep!). I just had to write a review, today, expressing my sincere pleasure and gratitude with Woodland Family Dental and especially Dr Nanavati.

Just visited Woodland Family Dental as a new patient and was very impressed. The staff was extremely friendly, from the front to the back they were all very engaging. The service was thorough. They didnt shy away from spending nearly two hours with me to make sure everything was properly addressed and taken care of. As a new dentist office, they carry what seemed to me like the more advanced equipment, helping to make the overall experience a bit more pleasant. I spent the majority of my time with Enjoli, the hygienist, who was not only very nice, but also passionate and knowledgeable about her work. She did a great job, was thorough, patient, and compassionate. I would definitely recommend this dentist office to anyone looking.

The people that work behind the desk (Jasmine) lack the basic knowledge to navigate their patients through their dental insurance plans. They dont even understand the difference between common terms like Deductibles and Max Out of Pocket. Watch out for the upsell of services then trying to have you pay for things out of pocket that your dental insurance covers at 100%. How such talented and friendly Dentists and Hygienists can allow Jasmine to be so poorly trained and represent them at their front desk is just a shame and poor business acumen. They clearly have invested a tremendous amount of money in such a beautiful facility, they should pay attention to the first and last impression sitting at the front desk.
