I went in on the night of February 11th to the 12th (being discharged on the 12th) I had a Cardiac Catheterization. (With stents) I was in my recovery room at 3pm. Dinner was suppose to be served at 6pm. Never got a meal, I called my Nurse (Mary) I informed her about not getting a meal. She replied “I think they were more worried about you leg” I asked her if she could at least get my some Orange Juice. She departed the room. I attempted to urinate in the urine cup. I missed, and figuring that my Nurse would show up soon lay in piss until an aid showed. The aid helped me with not only changing the sheets and gown, but also brought me orange juice. I ask Mary why she wasn’t able to check on me for 3 ½ hours. She quoted “We have a heavy work load” But the patient in the bed beside me had four visits from his Nurse in that time. My wife showed with something to eat. The next morning I never got a breakfast. Thank God the wife was still there to complain. I finally got a breakfast meal. Cold egg substitute with two rubber pieces of toast. (Horrible food that I wouldn’t feed to a death row inmate) The wife went out and got a meal for me. The wife confronted “Mary” about the horrible treatment I’ve been getting, and only then did she come in the room asking if I needed something. Shift change nursing staff was fine. I work in a Hospital myself and observe Nurse’s on a constant basis. I personally wouldn’t have Mary as a nurse at my Hospital. I gave this a one star rating only because of the Doctor and pre-op nursing staff. I pray nobody gets "Mary" as their nurse..! If you do.... Ask for another Nurse right off.... Worse hospital Ive ever been to. Waiting in ER yesterday for OVER FIVE HOURS, just to be seen and given the WRONG DIAGNOSIS in 45 minutes and sent home, only to have to return tonight. Its been FOUR HOURS and still counting, and I have not been seen yet. Im in severe pain, grade scale beyond way beyond 10 and this staff HONESTLY DONT CARE, like many other reviews have stated. I have asked to see the house manager THREE HOURS AGO, they still havent come yet. Just asked again with an firm attitude, lets see if they come. This will be an updated review, because sadly I havent been seen yet....BUT I REFUSE TO LET THEM SEND ME OUT OF HERE INSURANCE BILLED, BUT WRONG DIAGNOSIS again!!!! THIS HOSPITAL NEEDS TO BE CLOSED, THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS SMALL TOWN, THINKING THE RESIDENTS DONT HAVE OTHER OPTIONS CLOSE BY, I THINK THOSE WHO HAVE HAD BAD EXPERIENCES NEED TO CONTACT OSHA, LAWYERS, AND FEDERAL AGENCIES THAT WILL ENFORCE THIS CRAPPY HOSPITAL TO DO BETTER!!! TOO MANY BAD REPORTS FOR A HOSPITAL, THIS IS NOT AN HOTEL!!!! PEOPLE LIVES ARE AT STAKE!!!! AND THIS HOSPITAL DONT CARE, THEREFORE THEIR MISSION NEED TO BE REEVALUATED BY REGULATING AUTHORITIES OVER HOSPITALS AND PATIENT RIGHTS. RESIDENTS OF THIS TOWN WHO HAVE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE NEED TO COME TOGETHER AND HAVE THIS HOSPITAL, MORAL, ETHICAL AND STANDARD HEALTHCARE EVALUATED. FROM THE CEO AND EVERY ONE WHO MAKES DECISION AFFECTING PATIENT CARE AND FINANCES. THIS HOSPITAL IS A SCAM FUNCTIONING BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE FEWER OPTIONS. I SAY STAND UP AND DEMAND BETTER CARE AND SERVICES ETOWN!!!!

I wouldnt give this hospital even one star. They seriously need to be investigated and whoever is in charge of the hospital needs to get a grip on their rude and horribly uninformed staff. We try to stay away from hospital environments and rarely is my family ever sick much less have an emergency situation. Its not worth posting the details of horrific experiences, since it is just google and it wont change that it is the only hospital in the area, but it is worth noting they could be and NEED to be sued over their performance at this hospital including the one person who was debating it on this review. My recommendation consult NOW as there is always a statute of limitations and this hospital counts on people just walking away and taking their nonsense. For ANYONE with a child, race them to Kosairs. The time it takes you to get them there driving, initially evaluated and seen is the same time if not shorter than you will wait simply registering and hanging out in a waiting room at HMH. And that happened to a child 4 years with head trauma and bleeding from both nose and mouth/vomiting. Update: Its been 2 hours of not being seen by any doctor..... 6 people were in waiting room prior. 2 displayed no severe symptoms and 4 had coughs.

This was the worst hospital experience to date. After a four and a half hour wait, I was taken into the second "waiting room." This was a 6 x 8 closet with 3 chairs and a side table enclosed in a curtain. In this "waiting/exam" room there was a hole in the wall, and blood on the chair that i was sitting in. Unfortunately I did not notice the blood until after sitting in the room for about two hours. The staff was very nice, and apologetic, but this could not make up for the lack of timely service. While I was in this room, I overheard very personal and private details about several peoples medical history. I found this to be very disrespectful to all involved. I sat in this room for a total of 4 and half hours as well, only being checked on about every 60 - 75 min. In all my stay was over nine hours, yet my treatment consisted only of an IV bag of saline, a few doses of medicine and a CT scan that took approximately 10 minutes. I gave it two stars simply due to the fact that the staff was in fact very friendly. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. I will drive to Louisville next time, since we no longer have an ER on Fort Knox.

Took my pregnant girlfriend to the ER at 1am. Complaining of terrible headaches and chest pains and shortness of breathe. The triage nurse lacked all interpersonal skills. We sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes with only 5 other people waiting. We get called back and the bed wasnt even clean. The charge nurse had to clean it and make the bed. There was still needle caps in the frame of the bed. We sat in the room for an hour and a half before we were seen. They have her a breathing treatment and 2 Tylenol, something I couldve done at home. They had a nurse come in and pick up the babies heartbeat which took 20 minutes and even stated to us she was unsure of herself. We were there till 6 in the morning. A majority of the staff are rude and heard plenty of the nursing staffs personal conversations about their sex lives. Very unprofessional and immature. They need a better system of communication. If you ever need to go to the ER youre better off going to Louisville.

Where to start. I will start by saying that I hope you never have to bring your loved ones here. My wife was brought in by ambulance 3 hours ago writhing in pain and she is still in the waiting room. I doesnt matter how nice you are to the staff, they still wont give you any helpful information. They wont even ask if my wife can take a Midol for her pain. They will not tell you how much longer. When they finally started sending patients back, they were not in as bad of shape as my wife, so they dont take you based on your pain level. They also dont do first come first serve because patients that have not been here as long as my wife have been called back before her. We finally got called to a room and on the way there, we walked by 7 empty rooms. To make a long story short, this is the last time I come here and watch someone I care for sit in pain in a waiting room for hours. Sad and ridiculous!!!
