Even if you have someone who can sit at your bedside 24 hours a day while you stay here, DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOSPITAL OVERNIGHT!. The staff takes it upon themselves to change doctors orders, and their pain management is non-existent. Last year I was in for 4 days. one nurse removed the pain pump because she didnt feel I needed it for the surgery I had (mastectomy with reconstruction). Another nurse decided to take the call button and remove it from my room because she felt i should be doing things on my own. Nurses argued with my surgeon about admitting men front of me prior to and after surgery. At one point during this stay, the care had gotten so bad I called my surgeons office and she had to come in and inform the nursing staff that she was the doctor and they were the nurses and therefore they were to follow her directives to take care of me. I had one nurse belittle me and tell me to quit faking the pain! I listened to the nurses make very derogatory remarks about me on their little radios they use for communications. For the last surgery, again, nurses argued with my surgeon about the care she wanted to give me. It was so bad, I opted to come home instead of being admitted as she wanted. They stood and argued with her in the hall outside my room both before my surgery and after! Then the man who has NEVER EXPERIENCED having his breasts removed, his chest expanded, drain tubes places in his chest, and implants put in, came in and told me I didnt need the intercostal pain shot. He knew nothing of my history other than i was there for surgery that morning. My surgeon has been taking care of me for over a year. She is well aware of my chronic pain issues and the difficulty in managing my pain. I love my surgeon. She is a patient advocate through and through, however, I wish she worked through a different hospital because the care there is awful and the staff should never, NEVER, argue with the surgeon, especially when the patient can hear it. Unprofessional staff. No pain management. Terrible food. The worst care I have had in any hospital I have ever stayed in. I am a two time cancer survivor and I have a lot of in hospital time under my belt and this place is beyond unacceptable for care.

This was probably with worst experience an elderly woman would ever have to endure. Her so called personal nurse in critical care, yes I said critical care was one of the worst. When my mother had to go to use the restroom the nurse would have to assist. My mother had a bladder infection and the urgency was imminent. The nurse did not like being called to help her and when she had be called more than once, she said to my mother, "your urgency is not my urgency". ( I can bet she was standing in line when she thought it was pay day). I cant imagine what my mother had to endure when one of the family was not present. My mother was transferred to the second floor, an assigned another nurse that had no idea what was happening with my mother and her anxiety disorder. The nurse was extremely rude and overbearing when asked if my mother might be able to get some help having her meds administered on time which would help ease the angst. She purposely took her time in delivery and then to make sure it was well past her time for her meds to be dispersed. If you can avoid this hospital I suggest you find an alternative. This is not the first experience with this hospital and untrained staff. They turned down my young son when he had an accident and nearly severed his tongue. We drove to Battle Creek where he underwent emergency surgery to sew his tongue up. He was 2 years old at the time.

I had an absolute horrible experience with the workers over the phone today they were rude and very unprofessional. I called today for a family member there and they told me that because of the law they are unable to connect me to that person (which is the law and is the right things to do) upon them telling me this I told them that a case worker had let me know about this family member being there so I was curious if they could have my family member give permission of release of information. Once I asked this the woman on the phone asked me to hold in which she began speaking to another worker without putting it on hold so that I could hear the whole conversation taking place. The woman were talking back and forth about how they cannot release the information which led me to believe that my family member was there (so they did a horrible job of not releasing it). Lastly, the lady was rude and spoke to me like I had no common sense, she talked down to me and asked me if that was all I needed as if she had helped me with something. HORRIBLE PEOPLE SKILLS.

No pain management. Some of the nursing staff obviously feel they know best. Came into the hospital in hard labor and was told I had plenty of time to get something for pain if needed. I told the nurse that, no, the baby was coming and I wanted something for pain. She didnt listen and left me unattended while the doctor ate lunch-even though I asked the nurse to go get him. The nurse ended up actually putting her hand in there during a contraction and trying to hold my sons head Im during a contraction while the doctor ran for the room. My son came out- onto the pull-out part of the bed- unassisted- while the doctor was running towards the room. Thank god my husband was there to catch our boy. Yes, nurse Crazy still works there. Went into triage when I was expecting my youngest- promptly left when I saw that sadistic nurse and went to U of M. Oh yeah, and U of M will give laboring mothers something for pain, if they so choose.

Looks to me like the good reviews are fake on this. The reason is because all the bad ones people are really sharing their experience here. Where as most of the good reviews are just staff putting more stars with nothing to say I give this a thumbs down you should take care of your patients better shame on you! I was supposed to come here but now I think not. After reviewing Dr Caron Warnsby, MD This is a copy Google User 5 years ago Big Hands Youre NOT the One! This woman should be under review for malpractice! It is hard to believe that so many patients have suffered in her hands and she goes unpunished. I sincerely hope she is held accountable here on earth. No one is perfect, but this Dr. ruins lives. Please stay away from this surgeon. These days it is our own responsibility to confirm credentials and competence. Continue your search! If this is the truth then I hope this can be fixed.

I have heard others say they had a good experience here, and thats what I expected. I was so wrong. The nurses were fairly rude and didnt listen to my needs whatsoever. I barely asked for anything, but never had a pleasant experience when I did. Just not friendly people. The anesthesiologist was awful awful awful. The epidural did not work the first time nor the second. He touched my legs and asked if I could feel it. I said yes and made it clear the epidural wasnt working. He simply said it was and left the room. How absolutely off-putting. I wished my birth experience were better. Its something youre supposed to treasure and it was very distracting having a team that didnt have a lick of bedside manner. Ridiculous.
