I had a new patient wellness appointment for routine exams such as blood work. My appointment time was at 12pm, I signed in at 11:40am. At around 1pm I asked if I could use the restroom and was told that a routine urine sample might be needed so I waited. Around 2pm I was still waiting, and again asked to use the bathroom, I was taken to the back and given the cup, but before I was allowed to go a different nurse said that she had to check with the doctor and then came back to tell me that the doctor had to see me and write up the order for my routine sample. Around 2:30pm, I went back up to the front desk for a 4th time because I noticed that people who came in after my appointment time were leaving the office and had already been seen, and I noticed my name had been crossed off!!! I complained about the situation and within 10 minutes finally got to go into the back at 2:40pm... 3 hours after signing in! The nurse claimed she called my name, and I told her that she was the same nurse that told me that I had to wait for the doctor to write out an order for the urine sample after she had asked my name to ask the doctor if I was allowed to leave the sample. I told her " you asked my name while I was waiting to use the restroom and then called my name while I was waiting for you to give me an answer. Didnt the name you called match the name I gave you at which point you could have told me that you were calling me to get seen?" She said she didnt realize it was the same name. A few weeks later I pulled up my claims report from my insurance company. I am supposed to have free routine exams which include blood work and urine samples to check things like cholesterol levels and keytones... I was charged with the explanation "misc lab". The doctor also told me that the EKG was routine as well, so I agreed to it, but it was not charged as routine on my insurance statement. Im now in the process of having to fight to get the charges billed again correctly to my insurance company. I go to pain management and yet the doctor claimed she was seeing me for back and neck pain which is not true since I have a contact with pain management to be treated for those conditions. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!! The biller and coder doesnt code routine procedures properly, the wait time is horrible, and they lie about treatment.

It is with distress I am writing this. The dr is fabulous but the office operations is a disgrace. The staff either dont send over referrals or send them without everything required. By the time you have left 10 messages and noone calls u back you are weeks behind... Only then to find out that the referral is incomplete and yr visit to specialist is another waste if time. It takes months upon months to get anywhere because appointments are one month out before u can know results of anything and move on. Ive even had a result come in which needed immediate attention and because they dont return calls or do what they are supposed to it took 3 months to find out i hate a fracture in my T5 which is what all my tests were about. The staff are rude and today I asked why they dont return calls and I have to drive to them to speak to them the smart ass up front tells me they dont have time to deal with calls. Excuse me!!! A disgrace trully and again I will say the dr herself when u do get in after a 4 to 5 hr wait.... No kidding ... Is wonderful. Pity her operations team sucks and doesnt really care. Clients are ALWAYS complaining when im there.... Ive had many a conversation with those who refuse to come back... So they go and new ones come till they r fed up and they go etc etc. Im an operations manager/customer service manager by trade and I have never been so appalled at the way a business is run. Oh and if you raise your voice they call the cops on you. Thats the level of professionalism you get.

I want to give Dr. Adams herself a 5. She is an amazing doctor. Her staff however deserves a 1. They are rude, condescending, they ignore patients that are standing to check in, they dont care about patients or their needs. They treat every patient as a hinderance. When you ask for an appointment because of being sick they tell you to go to the ER or Urgent care. What is the point of having a dedicated family doctor if they only see you once a year? Isnt the whole point of having a doctor is that the doctor gets to know you and your individual healthcare needs? They know your history and medications so they are better suited to treat your illness? I had a staff member tell me to take an Advil for a proven medical condition. UNACCEPTABLE! How about having the staf take basic customer service courses as well as compassion courses. I understand wait times happen, however better time management by the staff would eliviate a lot of the issues. Patients want to feel like people, including their chosen physician, care about them as a person not just another body. Check your attitudes.

I made an appointment as a new patient a few weeks ago. After reading the reviews and hearing from other patients that the wait time is long I requested the first appointment of the day. My appointment was scheduled for 7am on June 6th. I got a phone call today without introduction or an apology telling me that they have to move it to June 22nd at 10:45. I needed them to provide a referral for an appointment I have on June 15th and explained that wont work for me, they could care less, they double booked and refused to change the other person. I asked for the office manager and when she picked up the phone she didnt introduce herself, just got on the phone with an attitude and told me the earliest appointment they have is June 22nd at 10:45. I canceled the whole thing and will find another doctor for my referral. Their lack of professionalism and lack of empathy was pathetic. I dont care how great this doctor is, her staff is incompetent as hell, Dr. Adams, you need to fire your staff and hire new, it looks like youve lost quite a few patients due to their incompetence.

I wish there were two rating scales, one for Dr. Adams and one for the front desk staffs efficiency and attitude. Lets start with Dr. Adams. She is wonderful! Both as a physician and as a human being. Knowledgable, caring, compassionate, and respectful - 5 starts!!! Unfortunately one cannot get to Dr. Adams without enduring the front desk staff. They are rude, condescending, totally inefficient, and in some cases down right abusive. Previous reviews already discussed the wait time, but the front desk staff inefficiency does not end there. Referrals to doctors who dont accept your insurance are very common. Messages to Dr. Adams or medical assistants rarely find their way to the right person, if they even delivered at all. I have been a patient of Dr. Adams for years and I will continue to be because she is wonderful. Perhaps there are many like myself who will not leave her inspite of her front desk staff. Perhaps that is the reason those people get away with treating patients bad and being incompetent and insensitive.
