Money...money... money....This place just cares about the $$$$. Is everyone here working on commission? my dog went in for a spay today and they added on so many charges the bill came to over $300.00 - in addition to the spay voucher. They up charged everything and said we gave approval when we did not. My dog did not need this blood work ... and the girl kept at my wife when she brought her in - saying the dog needed the blood work....my wife said "no" three times - my wife asked "why" and the girl said because that is what we do. REALLY????? WHY? Our dog was healthy. Spay clinics do not routinely run blood work so why are they doing this at the last minute giving a doggie mommy no time to think about it? INTIMIDATION tactics. The blood work was a whopping $145.00. More than the cost of spaying. This should have been discussed well in advance not right before bringing our girl in for surgery. They also charged over $10.00 for anal glands that they did not mention. We paid extra for pain medication - it was $10.00 as specified on the voucher but they gave an extra shot of pain meds for over $30.00 - said it would last 3 days...... the side effects of such a shot were not mentioned. I am going to look it up & see what exactly the shot does since the girl could not tell me. I did not want our girl to be in pain but we need to be informed and I expect the person handing over our dog to know whats going on - since the Vet or anyone else there did not call us at any time during the day. I asked to speak with a Vet when I picked up my dog & the girl there told me that there was not a Vet onsite. The people there were unsupervised. They even charged $45.00 for a visit & exam the day before the dog was spayed!!!!! My dog was NEVER there that day. If I conducted business this way I would not stay in business long. They also did not call me to tell me how my dog was doing as they promised they would do. They were in a hurry to leave when I picked her up and wanted me to schedule a 3 to 5 day follow up (extra charge) and then a 10 day re-exam (extra charge). I asked if she had been pottied since she had been there since 9:00 AM & the girl at the desk DID NOT KNOW!!!! WOW! I asked if she had had any water,,,, and again SAME answer.... SHE DID NOT KNOW .... well they lost several 4 legged patients ....... er.... I mean customers today. They did not charge us for a nail trim but the nails were not trimmed as they said they would do it was supposed to be done during surgery as a good client discount. But the nails were not trimmed so...........What is going on? Well they are not going to refund the money for the bloodwork that was not needed. Money rules more than reputation or customer satisfaction. I was not abusive to the staff at any time. I left calmly but called after I came home & reviewed the bill. I again asked to speak to the vet and was told there was not a vet onsite at the time. I am choosing not to go back to this place and I told the girl this when I called to cancel a follow up appointment. At no time was I rude or abusive - they just would not listen to the questions I was asking nor did they care about my dog. When I called back it was the same defensive behavior -they can do no wrong & want to make it out like I was wrong for asking questions YES it is all about the money with them.

The front desk staff and doctors are so nice and wonderful. Ive only had problems with the technicians there but the last encounter I had was enough for me to express my dissatisfaction. I took my husky puppy in for his boosters, and the technician shared with me that she wanted to get a husky puppy but they were "really dumb". I stood there kind of shocked at the fact that the person Im having take care of my puppy essentially said he was dumb. To some this might not be a big deal, but for others that take a lot of pride in their pet and have so much love for them, its very insulting. Its like if a doctor called your child dumb. That mom instinct kicks in and you cant believe someone would have such horrible customer service to say that about your baby to your face. Every one who has a pet wants to feel like their pet is smart, special, and one of a kind. As a vet tech, whether or not you agree this to be true, you owe it to your customer and to the pet to make them feel like it is true. That is what excellent customer service is supposed to be like. Everyone else there has been wonderful but its incredible how one person and interaction can really effect how you view a business. Michanne the HR manager did call me back about the situation and apologized. She expressed that is not how she trains her staff to act towards her customers and that she would talk with the technician. It made me feel so much better that she she cared enough to call me and correct the situation.

Update(04/16/16- 0 star if I can): upon reviewing the vet hospital which I am not trying to hide anything because this is simply how I felt about the experience. Received a mail from Happy Valley Hospital quote "...ask that you cease otherwise to contact our hospital or utilize our service". Banned from hospital for posting a review. Ha! Ha! Feeling like living in China again. Caution: please dont comment anything negative about the hospital or you will be banned! Original Review (3 star): Failed to recognize that my dog was just allergic to her food with stomach pains. She was put on three different drugs: carprofen, tramadol, gabapentin (they automatically assume it was caused by her old age). She also reacted badly to the drugs that maker her more anxious and seeing thing that are not there. $1000 dollars later with a surgery and teeth cleaning (which I am grateful for) and other tests. She was still the same dog in pain with drugs. Then I put her on a hypoallergenic diet, she is finally a normal dog again! We also stopped all these drugs that were giving her side effect! Bottom line: if you are the type of person like the western method of treating your animal, by all means go there and let them experiment on your animal with drugs. If you are the type of person who likes natural healing with food and alternatives to drugs, try somewhere else.

Friendly staff, good prices for neuter but In addition to the spay/neuter price they make you pay $10 for 24 hr flea med, $10 for rabies shot, $12 for cone of shame, $10 pain med (optional) so be prepared to bring more $ than the surgery fee. They try to get you to buy other things as well. My cat was neutered there and had great care. $10 to get pain medication isnt bad and lasts them the first few days plus 2 free after care check ups! I gave 3 out of 5 stars because of the extra costs I didnt know ahead of time (this vet prices still better than most!) and because of the pet food they sell, and you have to pay for a pet exam before they "prescribe" the food which has animal/meat by products in it which is diseased animal that either died of disease or was euthanized (even worse) because of disease that are deemed unfit for human consumption! Its no wonder human diseases have tripled in our pets the last 15 years! However, like many vets and pet owners, they may not be aware of what animal by products and animal meal is yet!
