I absolutely love this office and staff. I had a family emergency with my husband and Dog (Kirby) at the same time. My son and I are both disabled and my husband as well as Kirby (my service dog) usually take care of me. Kirby had sticky stinky puss coming out of his ears, he was miserable. My husband called from work staing he was being rushed to the ER by a co-worker. We had Kirby checked at the value vet clinic in Puyallup and the estimate I was given was between 400 and 900 depending on how I wanted him treated. WHAT!!! Im not the vet, How do I know whats best for him? On top of the fact that I couldnt think straight because I just got a call saying they were operating on my husband immediately. I saw a VCA coupon for a free exam and took Kirby there. I did not have to wait, they saw him right away. After they explained what he needed we proceeded to have him treated. VCA supplied the meds and explained how to give it to him at home. Can I just say that Kirby was irritable and growling but they still treated him well and understood he was in pain. Being a Shephard Chow Chow Mix most people take great precaution with him that usually involves a muzzle but the vet said he had a great temperment even in his pain. The staff dosed the first course of ear drops but Kirby refused to allow me to do it once the second dose was due. I called the office and they said to bring him back. They continued to give hime his dosages twice a day until finished with no extra charges at all. Kirby was loving the attention and started feeling much better. The Vet had cleaned his ears of the puss the first day and it never got out of hand after that. The stress I was under running to be with my husband at the ER and him having emergency surgery and then having to go back and forth for a week to the hospital for my husband and then to the VCA for Kirby. I could not have treated Kirby because he didnt allow me too and Im disabled so wrestling him down to treat him was impossible. He sat well behaved for the staff. They are definitely trained professionals. I only paid about $250 for everything which included labs and meds. I will always go to this office. The staff was great! Great! Great! Ifeel very thakful for all their help and the staff went above and beyond my expectations.

I have given the vet clinic multiple chances to make up for all of the horrible service I have gotten. But tonight was the last straw with them. My first bad experience is when my German shepherd had her first vet appt, the nurse did not introduce her self with my pup and grab her mouth to check her teeth. Well my pup didnt like that much so she snapped at her. So the nurse went to the back told the dr what happened and now she is marked as an aggresive dog and had to west a muzzle. Next time I brought my beagle in. Hes in grest condition, especially for his age. And the first thing the vet says is "your dog looks you thin". Ive worked with animals all my life, Ive even worked in very clinics. My dog is a perfect weight. Tonight was the last starw. I brought my beagle in a few days ago for possible kennel cough. They said they could not give him his vaccines when hes sick, obviously. So they said bring him back within 10 days and we will not charge you an exam fee. So I brought him back within the 10 days. At the end I very my bill and pay. Well guess what I saw they charged me for the exam fee. I said I was told by the vet I would not have this fee when I was last in. They told me that I was basically lying and that was an untrue statement. They said I would get a discount. After a while bunch if back and forth they finally agreed to give my money back. Oh but wait they said...u paid in cash, we cant refund cash. Its a corporate thing unless u want to wait 8 weeks and they can give u a check. So all I get is a lousy credit to my acct, to a vet office I no longer want to go to. I would never recommend this place even in an emergency. They will treat you like an idiots and like you have the wrist digs ever and you cant take care of another living creature. Do not go here unless you want to be ripped off.

too had a misdiagnosed report on our dog. They started cutting a piece of every organ to be sent to the lab. My dog weighs about 67 pounds and was losing weight faster than you could shake a stick at.... They couldnt figure it out. He couldnt hold anything down. He was over 2 1/2 years old. $3,700 later they figured he might (MIGHT) have the puppy disease Parvo. He was almost 3 years old! I dont think it was Parvo, but after intavenious fluids and some medications, and many surgeries, he was on the mend. He had needless surgeries and I had to take a loan out to pay for my dogs suffering. He had tubes coming out of every part of his body for drainage! I was so upset. He made it, thank God. Oh and also I want to let you know that they are not very comforforting towards you.

I just dont get these reviews on here but each experience is different. I had nothing but great service at this clinic. Kirby had a free exam and he even got his nails trimmed. Then a month later he had puss coming out his ears. The staff was great with my Kirby and very gentle to him. They took the time out to comfort him and myself. He has the worst ear infection and would not allow me to touch him. He even growled at the workers but they knew it was just his pain talking. They were still gentle with him and continued to calm him down and work with him. I am more than pleased and will continue to come to this Spanaway location for my Kirby. I would recommend them to all my family and friends!

Our dachshund was misdiagnosed here, due to inexperience of a temp vet. She became paralyzed one day, and the vet took xrays, then showed them to us - her back looked fine, but she said that even though you cant see it, it was a back injury. Then she gave pain pills and said they sometimes recover quickly. One week later she died at home. To add insult to injury, after she died, the vet called and wanted her body to send to the university for study. This was devastating to us to think of at the time, and while I can understand that she had a mysterious disorder, it is bad customer service to do this. All we received from them was a bill for $500 for nothing. Never again will we go here.

First time walk in to ask questions about our new kittens we found under our house and the staff was outstanding. very friendly and full of information on how to care and treat our new family additions. Any time I would have a question or any concerns I would stop right in with our cats and they would help us out asap and make time for us that day. I recommend this vet to everyone with a pet they love.
