If I was able to give negative stars or even zero stars that is exactly what I would put. I have an experience that I hope will steer everyone away from this vet clinic: I have a two year old beautiful ragdoll named Romeo. He fell off the counter and probably bumped his eye because the next day he was twitching so we took him to Damascus Vet clinic. They gave him a once over checked his eye once and diagnosed him with the rarest most devastating disease imaginable. You cannot know the devistation that shook my household. He is our only pet and we were expected to watch him die painfully within the week. We called them back and asked if there was any medication we could give him to help him and they were SO rude treating us like a complete waste of their time. We probably would have been waiting around for years thinking he would die any minute. Thank the Lord we decided to get a second opinion. We went to Oswego Vet Hospital and they were AMAZING! Everyone was so sweet and their prices are so much better than damascus vet clinic. They gave him a complete thorough physical and tested his blood for everything! His blood work came back perfect and they said that what happened to his eye was actually quite common and we have an amazingly healthy cat! You cannot imagine the relief I felt when I heard that! The people at Damascus vet clinic are completely incompetent and rude. Do not take your animals here!

Went in for an appointment at 10.30am and was finally seen about 11. As well the doctor looked like a hippy reject from the country fair. Bad teeth and just an overall poor presentation of what a professional doctor should look like. All of that aside, I went in to have my dogs toe looked at. It had a growth under the toe nail that would not heal. I wanted to see what it would cost to get it fixed. The Dr. looked at the toe nail and stated quite flatly that the toe nail needed to be removed. I asked if that was a little extreme and the Dr. said "he will be fine with 3 toe nails" I also wanted to know how much to get the dogs teeth cleaned. After a brief 5 minute exam I was told that if I had both services performed at the same time it would cost right around $900 dollars. Really? Thinking that this was a bit much I took my dog to the Vista Pet hospital in SW Portland. This place actually took the dog and looked at his toes under a magnifier and determined that it was a growth that could be removed. Cost for the service was $160. Cleaning of the teeth was another $175. As well the appointment was started when it was set. On time. In closing my dog still has ALL of his toe nails and I saved $600. Dont waste your time or money at this place.

We took our Golden Lab/Yellow Retiever in to see the vet for his bad breathe. The vet has been cleaning his teeth for a few years now and never once told us anything about his teeth or the severity of the disease. So we take him in because we have tried everything to get his breathe any better and hes now started to lose some teeth. The vet looks at him and says he has gum disease and the only thing to do is take out ALL of his teeth.... what kind of life is that for any animal. We ended up getting a second opinion from another veterinary clinic off King Road. And we told them our story, what hes been through and how long its been. The fist question they asked was, "Has he ever taken antibiotics?" And he hadnt because THIS clinic just wanted to rip them all out!!!!! So we find out his gum disease isnt going to need any extraction of teeth and within 2 weeks our dogs breathe is back to normal. Dont take any animals to this clinic, seems like they only want to HURT your family member not HELP!!!!

Damascus Vet is well worth driving to Damascus. The staff is extremely helpful and just by walking in you can tell how much they love animals. You get in quickly and hardly seem to have to wait at all in the waiting room. My kitten had a cold and they day I called I got in and walked out with medicine, without the vet having to do costly blood tests. They know animals so well they will not do unnecessary tests like the other, more expensive clinics. A day after seeing the vets and two doses of meds later, my little one is already starting to feel better! I recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pets because Damascus Veterinary Clinic loves them as much as you do!!!

Verdict is out still- I have gone there twice. I knew my cat needed amoxicillian for a really bad cold and upper respitory infection. But the vet, though nice, tried to sell me all these weird tests that I didnt want. Talking about allergies, fur in his upper throat....I got the amoxicillan the next day when BASIC lab tests confirmed what I knew. But my kitty had to suffer another day waiting. Hmmmm. Nice people- not understanding their mission statement.

Do not come here. Have only had very bad experiences with this place. They will tell you one thing, then they will tell you another thing completely opposite of what they origionally told you. Poor customer service and the lady started impatiently raising her voice on the phone with me when I called to ask a question. Would not advise you to go here, you will have better luck with another vet near by.

Caring, Compassionate pet care. The doctors and the staff listen to your concerns as an owner, and try to come up with the best possible care that meets your pets needs as well as your pocket book. They have cared for my pets for over 16 years, from cradle to grave. Thank you, Dr. Renata Hahn, Dr Les Perry, & Dr Lorraine Beaumont for caring for my family of critters.

They wanted to cut my fur babies nose off for only 1400 dollars. I took him to stark street vet and found out the only thing wrong with his nose was what they call( snow nose )loss of pigment from lack of sun. LONG WINTER. As long as dr. Haunns is there I will not be back

I took my dog to see the veterinarians at Damascus vet for a lameness issue they were very kind and concerned about my dogs discomfort. He responded well to treatment and I especially like that they called me often to check on him.

Damn this place is expensive, not only that they only see your pet by appointment only, I wont ever go here ever!
