I had surgery scheduled to have a hip replacement and went down on Tuesday, their designated day to come to the hospital, fill out forms, provide insurance info (pre-register), and do lab work. The front desk people were pleasant enough, and the woman who took my insurance info was responsive to my request to not scan my drivers license info into their database. The whole shebang took 2 hours, so imagine my surprise a day and a half later, when I came home from work and my father told me that hospital admissions had called and wanted me to call to pre-register. Irritated, I called them, wondering what it was about their system that was broken, since I had watched this other woman on Tuesday enter all my data into her computer. Anyway, I got a hold of a woman well call "J". J proceeded to tell me that she needed my insurance info, and I told her that they already had my info--I had given it to them on Tuesday. Didnt she have it in her system? J wouldnt give me a straight answer, only insisting that she needed my info to (ostensibly) enter my info into their database for billing purposes. We mustve gone around and around about this for several minutes--J insisting that she needed my info and me insisting they had it. FINALLY, she came clean about the REAL reason she called--she wanted me to pay for my procedure up front! She proceeded to tell me how much the procedure cost (41k), how much my insurance would pay, and what *my* share would be. She had ALL my insurance info, the type of plan, what my out-of-pocket expenses were, and even the name of the woman who originally took my info on Tuesday and the time of day I was there! She had already contacted my insurance--she even knew what type of coverage and what plan I had! How disingenuous! Why not just state the nature of your call from the start?! But no, she lied to me, most likely figuring that if she left a message stating she was from the billing dept. and they wanted me to prepay, that I wouldnt call her back. Why else would you go about your business that way? I would have been willing to leave a deposit, if they were so worried about it (I guess the 80% paid by my insurance wasnt a large enough deposit), but after I found out the true nature of her call, and the fact that she was dishonest about it from the beginning, I was too upset to want to talk to her further. And remember, I didnt owe them one fat red cent at this point--nothing, nada!

1 hour in a dirty er room into it I had asked when I was going to be seen by anyone for a cut on my finger. The nurse rudely replied I had to wait to be seen by anyone on staff, for a freaking paper cut size cut that occurred at work. Why even put me into a room if no one was going to acknowledge that I was there. I had to tell her that the room was unsatisfactory not once but twice as she was buzzing back to the water cooler where several staff members where chatting. She turned around and said let me Check if we have any thing else as if I was a piece of s***. By this time my finger had been wrapped in paper towels twice by myself since they refused to even get proper bandages til someone was assigned to me. And I was able to stop the bleeding within that hour. She moved me over one room and from what I could see there was only one other patient. Thanks to a contract with the company she told me at 130amish that I was going to lose my job if I discharge myself I said b.s. and called my supervisor he showed and said they havent seen you yet let me Check! He said theyve been busy and he had to go back to work. 6am the doc walked in and gave two stitches to the wound and I left happy with his performance and compassion in the work but that was the last time I would be caught dead in their er after hours. I kinda think that insult hurt my wanting to be any er room longer than 30min where staff presents the same rude actions towards the patients. I would rate the over all experience with a D would have been a F if the doctor hadnt brought his A game which he did.

I have lived in the Tigard area for 6 years. Ive had to go to this ER on several occasions. I can honestly say Ive been mistreated, pre judged and not treated fairly. One time I went to this hospital on several occasions. My concerns were not heard and I was ignored. Finally I I cried and begged for them to just find out what was wrong. I looked 6-7 months pregnant. They called security. I made a complaint. The next day I was contacted and I went to see a uriolgist who admitted they have had many patients complain. I was admitted that day from his office. Last night I went in and Dr. Tao Y. He did not care of my concerns. He tried cutting me off several times saying I read your chart. He couldnt have. He wrote scripts with the wrong dosage and wrong time to take them. I had been vomiting and was dizzy and passed out. No IV fluids, No blood pressure checks, No blood drawn. I left the same way I came in.This has gone on too long. They didnt know I was a Nurse and understand s what should have happened. I will not just be complaint to his boss. But Im contacting the Board in Oregon for legacy hospitals. Im also contacting His medical board so it will be on His record. I know how they cover up, pre judge and this time Im no going to just complain to the hospital because they will act concerned but they protect their own. I was on the other side b4 and I hated to watch how they did things behind the scenes. I was not a part of that.the one star is how St there cus the check in staff and Nurse.

My 6 day hospital stay was amazing! Loved the nursing staff. Been to providence hospitals and thought they were slow and the nurses would groan just to come help you no matter how much you needed it. Legacy has small wings with specialtys just for what type of surgery I had, everyone in that area had similar, they had anything you needed...one CNA even braided my hair! They volunteered to go and get shampoo and conditioner so I could wash my hair and I washed it myself, but they came in all excited several hours later to do it for me! I was like "oh I thought I didnt want to bother you, you have much sicker people here" but they said it would have been a nice change of pace. They helped me brush it and re-braid it. I NEVER seen such wonderful helpful nurses with great ideas for wound care and after care and even care while there. Never pushed me or got upset were always kind and encouraging! Ended up in ER 2 weeks post op, I was crying in pain and sickness, the Doctor came in after initial assesment and asked what was wrong, was I okay? He was so sweet. They actually saved me from going into shock and a coma- they probably didnt even know how close I was. They saved my life, even called me a cab and helped diagnose a seroma which I called several times my surgeon that week and they ignored me and never called me back. W/O Legacy Meridian I would have gone into coma in my sleep and never be here to thank them. I would love to write them a letter.
