Unprofessional staff at the front desk! I used to come here because Ive seen Dr. Wood since I was little. I unfortunately will not be coming back here after the interaction that I had today with the staff. A front desk girl told me they tried to call me in regards to needing my husbands SS number to verify the insurance. Well that is a lie, no one called me from the office. The lady sitting beside her then chimed in about how she made my appointment and said I would need to call with the SS number. So I called the following day and was put on hold for about 15 minutes before I decided to hangup. That is ridiculous and there is no reason I had to sit on hold for that long. So I told her I hung up, I work I dont have time to sit on hold. Her response was well were busy too, you should have called back another time. Well you arent open on Saturday or Sunday so when would you like me to call? Im sorry but I cant imagine you are that busy sitting up there at your desk filing paperwork. There are plenty of eye doctors around with for professional staff. I will be going to one of those from now on.

The experience was very...unprofessional. I went here due to my insurance changing providers so Im like sure let me give them a chance. I ordered a pair of glasses and paid the balance. After calling back a week later to see how it was going on my order, the receptionist stated they would give me a call when they came in and that she made a mistake again concerning lenses and that there was another balance. I then said okay, Ill be in today to pay it. After calling over three times in the last three weeks, the receptionist just now stated that my frames were having to be custom ordered so its taking longer. After letting her know I was moving internationally and if she stated she did not when they would come in and then the customer service rep for the glasses made another mistake and that there is a balance. After getting annoyed I just wanted a refund of what I paid. My Austraian work visa took a week so why Im the world did it take over three weeks for miscommunication to order eye glasses that are just regular glasses that they carry? I would NOT recommend this place at all.

Darlene Carnes was awesome! I had my eyes examined by another Eye Doctor in Rock Hill but their optical shop was clueless and could not help me at all. I wanted new lenses put in my existing frames. The technician there could not tell if my insurance coverage was adequate then she told me they would have to send off my frames for two weeks to get the new lenses! I called several optical shops in town who were also no help until I spoke to Darlene at Palmetto Eye. She asked me to email copies of my insurance information and prescription then emailed me back with an itemized breakdown of exactly what was covered and how much the lenses would cost me. I went for measurements and ordered my lenses from Palmetto Eye. Darlene emailed me promptly when they arrived and it took only 3 hours to have them ready. Darlene was great to work with. Thank you Palmetto Eye.

The level of service here is beyond outstanding. Dr. Burt takes his time explains every single thing he is doing and makes sure you understand what he is doing and why. Both my dad and wife go here and i have been in the room with the dr and each one of the on separate occasions. He was no different in one verses the other. He was equally observent and took his time in explaining what was going on to both my wife and dad. I do not ware glasses but if i ever do i will be going here no doubt. Staff is great and suoer nice. I have never had a bad visit here and i would recommend this place to anyone looking for the one place that tye staff and dr are above parr. This place is AWESOME!!!!

Ive been Dr. Burts patient for 10 years. He has fitted me for glasses and contacts. He has also treated my wife and kids. Dr. Burt has been absolutely fantastic! He always does a thorough exam with his state of the art technology and answers all my questions. Hes great with kids too. My son had an eye infection and was terrified to be seen. Dr. Burt made him feel at ease and immediately my son calmed down. Dr. Burt prescribed several medications and his eye cleared up quickly. Oh, his friendly staff are awesome too! I would highly recommend this practice to everyone!

Dont get me wrong, Dr. Burt is an excellent ophthalmologist. It is time that he regained control of the administrative side of his business though. It seems that someone else is running the show and not doing a very good job at it. My latest appointment was at 11:30 and I arrived at 11:20. I am typically early. By 11:50, I started to get antsy as time is the only unvaluable commodity. I finally left at 12:00. Lifes too short to waste it in a waiting room.

My 9-yr-old daughter and I both had recent experiences (she with Dr. Burt and I with Dr. Wood) with Palmetto Eye and were equally impressed! The doctors are thorough, informative, and gentle. Very good with children, which was most important to us. I never felt rushed, and the staff had wonderful and approachable personalities. Would definitely recommend to people of all ages.

Ive gone here for a few years with no issues. Dr. Burt is great. My latest experience, however, has made me consider looking for a new eye doctor. Someone on staff has contradicted what the doctor told me. I dont have time to compare contacts if Im only going to be allowed, by the staff member, to order one of the choices that the doctor gave me.

It was the best experiences Ive ever had in my doctors office Gina is one of the people that work in the office and she just is out of this world she makes you feel comfortable she treat you like shes known you forever which really helps out a lot and her daughter was very courteous as well and I just saw it all around the staff was great

I have been super pleased with the care I have received at Palmetto Eye. The office is gorgeous and the staff was gracious and patient with me and my children. I had expert help picking out new frames for my lenses. Overall the experience was superb. I highly recommend Dr. Burt and Dr. Wood at Palmetto Eye.

A great place for eye exams . They will refer you to other doctors if there is a problem that he believes needs expertice beyond his. Very friendly, helpful staff with many years of experience. They have the latest designer frames and sport glasses as well .
