I disagree. As a patient, and may I add involuntary patient, my time and treatment at the PETC has started my path to diagnosis, treatment, medication and participating in my own recovery. I had been hospitalized at That particular facility was new, staffed without competence or goal, and seemed to cater to the situational psychosis. The other spent 90% of the "care plan" on addiction issues. I agree, most of us have them, but they have an origin, triggers, a reasoning. The psychiatrist that took the time to listen, patient but encouraging; keeping my thoughts and opinions on medication priority but in perspective; and the group discussions werent the deepest part of the pool, but definitely not the shallow end as we find in most. Of course, my court appointed placement allowed plenty of time to make MY choice that I was ready to acknowledge, be open and open up, and actively participate. It took quite the debating to be released after a 6 week stay, but I have to incorporate the real world Im in with the one I now can admit, is in my head. By the way, I have zero insurance....none. Credit is due as well, to my outstanding physician N. Karimjee. As my general practitioner, he has continuously encouraged me to stay in accordance with MY mental healthier treatment goals, helped to find more and more drug combination and dosages to manage psych, while minimizing side effects. Thank you. in conclusion, yes, PETC has its shortcomings. Individual therapy should be utilized, cognitive and behavioral therapies, family counseling, as well as more individualized medication times. Overall, no one place can be successful without you.

Worst ever. I do not recommend them. It takes a long time to get approved for their services and then they treat you like they are doing you a favor. I once waited three hours to see the doctor, and I had had the appointment set for over two months. Nobody told me my doctor didnt work there any more and they assigned me a different doctor without asking me if it was okay. It was take it or leave it. Every time I went, I saw a different doctor, had to tell them same thing over again. My wifes nephew still goes to tri-county and hates it but he has no choice.

I like nothing about the tricounty kids facility, I would never recommend it to anyone. It is incredibly filthy, looks like they never hired a janitor or bothered to clean anywhere since the day it was opened. Everything is full of grime and rips, you dont even want to sit down. Its depressing, the workers look like they just tumbled out of bed and they arent very helpful. I dread when my mom drives me here for therapy, I just hate it.

As a recent patient I went into tricounty for help voluntarily and help is what they gave me. The staff is great with the exception of one or two crabby ones. They take the time to talk to you. The groups are sometimes a bit unorganized but they still get the message across. I was impressed with their ability to help homeless patients in any way they can. I went in terrified of this place and came out a new, better person.

Tri county is bad. Makes me wait too long to see the dr and I never know which one Im gonna see. Tired of them. One of the girls knows my mama and tells her what I said. Well i found out and theres no excuse. Its sposed to be private what you say. Not at tri county. really no stars.

They suck. Dont go. You never see the same doctor twice. Try to get insurance through the county and go somewhere else. Tri county has a bad reputation. I wont ever go back.
