This hospital is AMAZING with wonderful and extremely kind staff. I felt very welcomes by everybody there since i stepped foot through the door. I had my gall bladder removed by dr abbate and right before surgery i had asked questions that he had already gone over with me because i was nervous and he eased my nerves. i thought asking about one of the incisions he was gonna do was dumb because i have a belly button piercing and was worried he was going to do the incision there. he made sure he didnt go near the piercing hole and made me feel like i didnt ask dumb questions so that made me feel great. i had threw up and felt dizzy and they assisted me right away and gave me ginger ale. i couldnt really walk and a nurse helped me every step of the way. the only downer is that you get billed before going in so its a hassle to get a refund back. i didnt even know i was getting a refund back until i called about if they received the money for my bill the previous month because it hadnt been taken out of my checking yet. i barely got my refund check back today and had been hassling them since the first week of december. overall, great experience at this hospital for it being my first surgery ever.

I was misled when I came in a week ahead to do my pre-op. I had my Care Credit all arranged, and wanted to be sure I was getting the 24 month no interest benefit. I was told "not to worry" and that they do not do the payment until the morning of the surgery. I tried to insist, and advised I did not want to "be caught off guard" the morning of the surgery. Again I was told "not to worry". 5am the morning of the surgery I was told 24 months no interest was NOT an option. I got stuck with 15% interest!!!! it was either that, or walk out and cancel. I felt very misled and "cheated" as I had a choice of facilities for the surgery. I did call afterwards, and there was no help. Also, they advised they were contracted with my insurance. They were NOT! When I questioned this, they advised "well, we will take what your insurance pays". that is way different as deductibles and other charges do not get credited correctly.

Nursing staff was great. However youre asked to take your medications. While your stay in hospital youre given your own medication. You have to ask for ice for your water, otherwise youre given a warm bottle of water. Heavily medicated , so when meals are brought to you and your sleeping, the staff will bring your cold tray. The most important thing to know is that what youre told the surgery will cost IS A LIE! I had a back fusion and was in this facility from Friday and was released Monday. The amount submitted to my insurance was $350,222.02!!! No this not a typo...its the amount billed. My insurance is having a difficult time getting itemized copy explaining the charges. I received an "itemized " copy emailed to me, but no itemized actually stating what exactly each charge is for!!!! Go to another hospital thats honest and know an approximate cost of services!

This is an amazing facility!! Dr. Cavasos is brilliant he did my surgery about 11 months ago and my results are awesome. He did my mothers yesterday and I know she will have the same success! The staff is so kind the two techs during the day Tanya and Sally have the biggest hearts!! The night crew rocks Joe is so comforting and understanding. Thank you everyone so much!! The best part is that you dont feel as if your in a hospital or look like your in one either, the rooms are very big!! Thanks again

Hospital is amazing! I had gastric bypass there with Dr. Cavazos. In addition to my amazing surgeon the nurses were so wonderful. They came in frequently and instantly when I buzzed them. They even woke me up one night because they noticed that I was in pain and wanted to give me more pain meds. How awesome to have someone watching your vitals as you sleep instead of just watching tv or something else. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone! You will not be disappointed with you care!

I had spinal fusion by Dr Dennis Gutzman. He was very kind and always was smiling and polite and joking. The staff was very attentive at every need while I was there for 3 days. I would highly recommend this place and these doctors to anyone in need. And I dont mind traveling back to San Antonio if I ever need another surgery

Dr. Dutta is the best surgeon we have ever met. So nice, thorough, and just a great guy. The facility is beautiful, clean, and everyone was extremely professional. We were very pleased with the entire experience from the beginning. Dr. Armstrong from ER was great and Alex who helped checking us in was phenomenal as well.

Everything was great, except that they bill before seeing an EOB. Which results in the patient having to expend energy, time and money, to get a refund.
