While it seems that Doctor Shafai is a knowledgeable practitioner, there are several issues which make me give her a low rating. The first, and most important, is that the office staff and her medical assistant are not friendly and not helpful. In fact, they are sometimes downright rude. The second issue came up when I scheduled an annual physical. When I made the appointment, I asked if I could get the blood work done in advance so that I could have the results at the physical to discuss with Dr. Shafai. I was told that I couldnt do that. The expectation was that I would come in for one appointment, get the exam and order for blood work. Go to a separate lab to have the blood drawn. Then make another appointment with Dr Shafai to discuss the results. Lastly, one of the reasons I chose Dr Shafai as my medical provider was because she listed Hormone Replacement Therapy for transgendered patients as one of the services she provides. Prior to my initial appointment I called to confirm this was true. When I arrived at the appointment, Dr Shafai informed me that she does not provide the prescription for the HRT medications. Instead, all she would do was monitor my blood work for me. Given that I would need to have blood work done with whichever doctor prescribes my HRT meds, then having a second doctor monitor it would be redundant. All in all, Dr Shafai seems like a nice person who provides thorough, well-thought care. However, the issues with her staff and some of the less-than-common-sense approach to things has driven me away.

From the day of my initial appointment I felt ripped off and inconvenienced. I thought my initial appointment would have included a physical and blood work. Instead the first appointment was me filling out paperwork for the doctor to read back to me. I was charged for that visit and told I had to go to a DIFFERENT facility for blood work and then schedule ANOTHER appointment to review bloodwork and have my physical. Three separate appointments that could have easily been one. I was told that follow up visit would be a preventative care visit but instead I was told (after the appointment of close) that it wont be considered a preventative care visit because the PA went over my lab results. Are you kidding me??? Not to mentioned when you call to make an appointment you clearly either get misinformation or cant get a hold of them. I had to call and call back several times. I will NOT be back.

Having a great experience so far. I have been seeing Dr. Zeigler for a little over a month now for a herniated disc. This is a problem I have had for years. With electric therapy, ultrasound therapy and accupuncture, I feel that pain relief came more quickly than it has with other various treatments. Dr. Zeigler spent adequate time with me especially during my first visit to learn my history. He is great at answering all my questions and giving answers that are easy to understand, this has not always happened in the past with my condition. In addition, all the staff are very professional and pleasant to deal with. The office runs very efficiently, there is very little waiting time. I only gave it 4 stars because I have had a couple times where the office has called to change my appointment due to schedule conflicts on their part.

I have been going to see Dr. Ziegler and his team for years. When you first walk in, you are always welcomed by a warm and courteous front desk team who greet you with a warm, personable welcome. In addition to being super friendly, they are also extremely helpful in contacting insurance companies on your behalf to try to ensure you get the lowest price for services from the insurance companies. Ive always appreciated this effort as it is not something they are required to do! Dr. Ziegler himself is a warm and friendly man who truly cares about his patients and the level of quality care that they receive from him and his team. Dr. Z understands great professional service and I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone with chiropractic or wellness needs.

I wanted to write a note of my great appreciation for the help I received from Dr. Mandana Shafai at Advanced Health Center in Arlington, VA. I had shared with Dr. Shafai that I had been suffering from extreme fatigue and she ordered a blood test. She discovered that I had some vitamin deficiencies (4 different vitamins) and gave me the vitamins that I was deficient in along with a B12 shot. Within a day or two I started to feel better! The B12 shot helped not only with energy but cleared up immediately some brain fog which B12 has in some studies shown to be helpful. God bless you very much Dr. Shafai for taking the time to listen and care enough to check out my fatigue complaint. Thank you also for the added mental clarity that the B12 shot gave me!

Dr. Shafai and Dr. Z (back guy) have been very helpful in the last 8 years. My whole family goes to the Advanced Health Center Office and weve never had any issues. I recommend their office to all my friends, especially ones who have back problems stemming from "Office Jobs". Dr. Shafai is very knowledgeable and a great all around practitioner. Dr. Ziegler is very good with identifying and solving back problems. I know there may have been some staffing issues in the last couple of months, and believe me, they have been resolved. The entire staff at Advanced Health Center is professional, kind, and courteous. All around great office that I recommend to anyone and everyone.

Dr. Ziegler and staff are a highly skilled and professional medical team! I have been going to Advanced Health Center for more than 2 years for physical therapy, adjustments and acupuncture. Dr. Ziegler is my main physician there, but I have also had the pleasure of having acupuncture with Dr. M. Lee and Emily Chang, and physical medicine and adjustments with Dr. K. Lee. The technicians are fabulous, as are the administrative personnel, as well as very accommodating of my schedule. I highly recommend Advanced Health Center!

Dr. Shafai, Ziegler and his staff (Dana and Sarah in the reception area) are top notch. I had only been seen by Dr.Shafai on previous visits but this time due to a work related back injury I had to see Dr. Lee and Dr. Ziegler. They treated me with such great care. I truly cannot thank them enough. Luckily my injury wasnt as serious as I thought. I have family in the medicinal profession too and I will recommend these physicians to anyone in a heart beat. I have seen Dr Ziegler , Dr. Shafai and Brittany Rowan. I have found the doctors and the staff to be helpful and caring. I have not yet waited for an appointment as they are extremely punctual. This is a a big thing for me. My neck and back are feeling much better under the care of Dr. Ziegler. Both Dr. Shafai and Brittany Rowan are compassionate and thorough. I would recommend Advanced Health Care to all.
