This was the best vet experience Ive ever had and Ive spent years trying to find an exotic animal vet I trusted in the Atlanta area. Typically at vet offices, I feel the appointment is a bit rushed and Ive had bad "bedside manner" experiences at other vets in Atlanta. Dr. Ahearn made my appointment time feel valued, she took a lot of time and care in explaining the situation to me and answering my questions. She was very empathetic to my concerns and the normal vet-stress my guinea pigs were having in the appointment. I appreciated how she conveyed realistic optimism on the treatment plan. Both the vet tech and vet handled my guinea pigs with real care and love. I appreciated the level of attention they gave me as I asked a myriad of questions to understand what was going on. I feel very confident in the level of care they gave and am so relieved to find an exotic vet I trust in Atlanta, finally! I have no reservations in recommending this vet for those with guinea pigs!

Ive taken my dog here since he was little as I got him from a pet store that used this vet. It was a smaller space back then. Now it is quite nice inside. My one complaint is the amount of unnecessary things they recommend as well as overinflated prices. Its $300 every time we walk through the door. I have a friend with a dog that also goes there and same thing. We are talking about healthy dogs here! I also have pet insurance which should cover the standard yearly stuff and whenever I send it in I get back about half because the insurance pays only what a normal vet should charge. I believe vets in Atlanta in general are overcharging. I do think these people are good care providers but if I am going to pay spa like prices I expect to be in a spa with 24 hr service, luxurious waiting rooms etc, not an ordinary vets office.

There was some confusion regarding the price of our dogs visit; receptionist on the phone said the visit was "$1" as part of a promo. As not new to vet costs, we never thought we would leave the vet only paying one dollar, but with only wanting heartworm pills/check and nail clips, we estimated $125-$150. Big surprise there -- the bill was $258. The main vet, Lisa Wright, was incredibly rude regarding the whole situation, saying: "We cant comp a $500 doctor visit for free." She did admit that the employee we spoke to was new but didnt admit that she did anything wrong, and had zero interest in helping to resolve the misunderstanding. She clealry needs to retrain her employees, and find a better attitude herself because Ive never had a doctor smart off to me the way she did. Take your dog somewhere, we sure will.

I couldnt ask for a more compassionate vet than Lisa Wright. Both my cat and my dog were 17 years old. She made a special trip to meet me at the clinic on a Sunday afternoon when my cat was screaming in pain. Unfortunately there as nothing she could do for Charcoal. She was so caring toward Charcoal and told me that it was time to put her to sleep. She was just as caring toward my dog. She told me that we would keep an eye on Kayla and that as long as she wasnt in pain we wouldnt worry that she was deaf and all but blind. When it was time for Kayla to be put to sleep Lisa had a room for us to use. Family was there to say goodbye. Lisa was crying as much as the rest of us. She is now the vet for my new dog Macy. We love her.

Dr. Wright has cared for my two beagles for eight years and I wouldnt think of taking them anywhere else. She is fantastic! She is very attentive, knowledgeable and really cares about their well-being! Both of my dogs have health issues from seizures to anxiety and Dr. Wright always takes time to thoroughly examine them, answer all of our questions, and explain their conditions in a way that we can understand. It is obvious that she loves animals and is passionate about providing high-quality care. I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs!

The people here are great. My only complaint is that they let their staffs dogs have the run of the building, which is dangerous and a bit unfair to the clients who have non-dog-friendly animals. My dog hates other dogs which I can easily handle when all animals are leashed but coming here made me extremely uneasy because there is nothing I can do about a loose dog running up on her. We wont be returning for that reason, but I wish we could because I really liked the staff and vet.

I love AHSS. I have known Dr Wright since she first started at AHSS. Dr. Wright helped diagnosis my dog with an odd illness that I will forever be greatful for. She is always very professional with me and my dog. I have never had any negative interactions with any of the techs or Dr.s at AHSS. I drive from Alpharetta to see her and the staff at AHSS. I will continue to use her as my vet as long as I have pets and live in Georgia.

My dog had a life or death situation today,called to ask 2 simple questions from a guy who picked up the phone. He was assisting others while I was asking my question then interrupted and said "Can I give you a call back?" But did not either ask a name or contact number and of course he didnt return my call. If you can lie about something as simple as that,I wouldnt dare trust the life of my pet in your hands.

I was going to another vet that I liked, but they were having trouble diagnosing my cats illness. I sought a second opinion from Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs and they recommended treatment that produced positive results. My cat remains under their care and is much improved. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
