This hospital is a scam, do not go there. My physician recommended them to get an ultrasound when i had terrible cramps. I asked how much it would cost and she said around $200.00. I went there and the staff had terrible manners and treated me like a robot. The ultrasound technician spent 5 mins looking around and would not talk to me or let me see the screen (am i the only person who wants to see what im paying for?). I had a hard time getting the ultrasound sent to my OBGYN but when i finally did he looked at it and said it was no big deal just a cyst on my ovary that will go away in a couple months. So after this experience I got a bill from Northwest Specialty for $700.00 and then months later I got a bill from Radia for $626. I thought this was some joke or scam so i called northwest specialty and they advised Radia is the company who interprets the ultrasound. This is something i never agreed to but they hid this information in a consent form that i signed and took advantage of a patient who was in so much pain at the time that I was not capable of seeing this scam. I cant believe the hospitals are getting away with charging this much for something that took 5 mins. I called Radia to get some information on why/how they are charging $623.00 for someone to interpret my results that i already had my OBGYN interpret and i did not approve of this and the lady Shelly hung up on me. I have insurance but apparently it sucks (thanks to obamacare my employer changed insurance companies) overall i have learned that no matter what happens do not go to this hospital if you dont want to get raped out of your hard earned money. If i had known about these hospital scams I would have just waited to see my OBGYN who confirmed that my bill would have only been $250 this is something that I can agree to, not $1400.00 that I have to pay to northwest and Radia. what a scam

I have never been as impressed of any hospital care as I was yesterday. I am by nature leery of doctors and hospitals but the care I received yesterday was over the top fantastic. I want to specifically acknowledge… My doctor/surgeon - Dr. Drager top of the line physician. The BEST. I don’t have names for the people who assisted me but they were all on the morning shift 7 a.m to 11 a.m. They include… The anesthesiologist The nurses who assisted me once I got past the front desk The various nurses who came in to do a specific job in getting me ready - both male and female The nurses who attended to me in the transition to the OR and afterwards. All these people give real meaning to the word professionals. Truly they are, but not only that; every single one of them man and woman alike were extremely kind and courteous. Gentle and caring. I pray a special blessing on these nurses and professionals because it was very evident their passion to help people. In a world full of angry and hateful people, these people are angels in disguise. I don’t want to leave out the office portion of the people who impressed me. A few days prior I came for the pre op blood work and then to be registered in the main lobby. ALL of the people I met that day both in the labs and in the main office/reception area were all VERY friendly, MOST professional and definitely took the fear away of me wanting to have a procedure done. Bravo! Finally; I had never been to this facility and until a few days ago knew nothing about it. I loved the facility. It was not a sterile atmosphere. It was warm, inviting and gave me the impression of “you will like it here and the people are great” Oh, one last thing…. I feel great. NO PAIN in my left heel. No pain medication needed. Thank you, Dr. Drager and thank you all who made my day a most memorable one. THANK YOU. God bless you all.

I had a work related injury and the first place I went was urgent care. They started the paperwork and got me in immediately. The workers comp claim was picked up by the insurance. Little did I know something was incorrect with the billing and I never received a bill nor did the insurance company. Fast forward 4 months later and I reinjured my back. I spent over 30 minutes waiting to even speak with the receptionist and when she spoke to me she was short and told me that I owed them money and they wouldnt see me. I explained that the bill was from a workers comp claim and they are the ones who actually started the paperwork for it. She was in fact the one who helped me. She refused to look for my file she only called the debt collector and told me theres nothing else she could do. I was barely able to walk I was in so much pain (two herniated discs it turns out) I was so upset and in so much pain I left and went to Kootenai urgent care where I knew it was going to cost more but I had no choice since they refused me. I will never go back there even though now this is all cleared up with the insurance company. I deserved an apology for being treated like a dilinquent and an apology for being refused service.

If any way possible, DONT waste your time at Kootenai Health. Ive had way too many bad experiences to share, ESPECIALLY in regards to their emergency room. Northwest Specialty is a great hospital, all the way around. As a patient, they offer GREAT care, wonderful doctors, especially Dr. Tony Russo in urgent care, their cafeteria is delicious, their building is clean, employees are wonderful, and tests and procedures seem to cost less. As a wife of an employee, Northwest Specialty is a great place to work. They truly care about their employees and treat them very well. There is a camaraderie between the staff. We are very lucky to have found this place!

This is an OUTSTANDING hospital with great nurses & doctors. They really care about the patient and it shows. I have been a patient here undergoing emergency surgery in the past along with going thru their Immediate Care area. The hospital chef offers gourmet food to tempt any flagging appetite. Along with an amazingly clean upkeep of the hospital and rooms, the staff are the friendliest I have ever encountered. Rooms are huge and family are offered a fold-out couch to stay overnight. Highly recommended.

On 2/5/16, I had hernia surgery. I was admitted to the hospital for the night after the surgery. From the moment I checked in from the time I left to come home, the care I received was excellent. They cared about every detail of my recovery and now that I am home, they still stay in touch. The Nursing staff and Aids where helpful and enjoyable to work with. One of the Aids took the time to walk with me in the hallways and she was very nice. Thank you to all of you at NW Spec. Hospital.

A really great hospital, one of the best in the area. The customer service is outstanding, and everyone I know who has been here say the same thing. Much shorter wait times than people are used to. The doctors and staff really care about you on a personal level. My grandmother had a surgery here, and also had a surgery at another local hospital, and she refuses to go anywhere else other than Northwest Specialty now. Thank you Northwest Specialty Hospital.
